"Perfect location, great service!"
Our stay was wonderful, very pleasant experience! The parking garage was an added bonus instead of trying to drive around and find parking at the stores, I just left the car at Aloft and was able to walk to some of the places. It's only about a mile away from the arena and music row. Loved it!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great hotel, right next to Midtown"
If you are looking to stay downtown and enjoy the night life, this hotel will be perfect for you. It is right next to several good restaurants, bars and Vanderbilt University.Genuine Expedia guest review
"We loved this hotel"
We stayed at the Aloft for the Nashville CMA Fest. The hotel was great! Hip, clean, comfortable room with a great bed, beautiful egyptian cotton sheets. The staff helpful, pleasant and friendly. Its got a nice bar, convenient snacks and breakfast for sale. And its in a good location - 15-20 mins walk from the centre which suited us fine.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great staff and service"
Aloft Nashville was a great place to stay. We were checked in promptly by a very friendly and helpful staff, and the room itself was large and well-appointed. A cool modern hotel, definitely recommended!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Shabby chic failure .. not worth what we paid!"
was really disappointed with this stay overall. The good .. the size of the rooms is great.. beds comfortable and The location was great. The staff were all very nice and attentiveThe bad .. the hotel is in some state of the slowest renavation I have ever experienced. The lobby is furnished with cheap furnishings and minimalist decor. I understand the […] urban look the hotel is going for is shabby chic but it comes off cheap and cheesy and is a Epic fail. This cheap and referbished look continues through out the hotel and rooms. The ULGY.. the place is dirty.. the halls are unvacumed and there was trash that remined unpicked up for over 3 nights. The stairwell smells like a homeless shelter and the parking garage had furniture, matresses, bed frames, lamps and Lots of Trash strewn around on every level. They also charge you $18 a day.. for the privilege of parking in the above decribed garage / homeless shelter. "A work in progress"
Minor complaints, and I hope they can all be contributed to the construction. Little things like coffee maker and wifi were not working (no wonder they were complimentary). Also, the set-up of the bathroom was a bit bizarre, as the shower had no door. This had the voyeuristic quality of seeing yourself shower...until the mirror fogged up and was unusable […] for shaving, putting in contacts, etc. I will say, though, that the staff was very kind and the bed was incredibly comfortable, so this work in progress has hope yet! "Location of hotel is good for Vanderbilt functions"
The hotel itself was fine except that for the cost, the room should have been Super Clean which it was not and they should have provided cups for the bathroom without me having to leave a note asking for them:(Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great hotel, no privacy in bathroom"
This hotel is great, very modern and clean lobby, nice front desk staff, comfy and clean rooms. The only issue (well-documented in previous reviews) is that the bathroom doors are slatted, so there's no actual privacy when you're in there, and the shower has no door - again no privacy. So just make sure you're very comfortable with the person staying […] in the room with you! But otherwise great hotel. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
perfect! cool atmosphere & the staff and settings make everything so easy: hanging out in lobby (playing pool!---the kids loved it!, kept them entertained & us happy), the big comfortable rooms, friendliness & helpfulness of staff. seems e-one who works there is happy, likes working at aloft & it shows.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
it was our son's graduation---our 5th and last child (our only boy!) and ALOFT made it memorable. not one single glitch---and we were a party of 18! "Comfy and conveniently located."
Stayed in a 2 double bed room and appreciated the spaciousness of the room. Everything went smoothly, beds are comfortable and staff very friendly and helpful.Genuine Expedia guest review
The hotel staff was incredibly nice, location was pretty convenient. I chose this hotel because I thought it was a W hotel property and therefore expected a bit higher quality but instead it was pretty mediocre. They forgot to clean our room twice and even though I told them that we had three people staying in the room (double), they only restocked […] it for 2 during the whole trip (water, coffee cups, towels...). Overall the hotel was just fine and was an ok place to stay, but if you're expecting higher quality, you won't get it here. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
The rate of hotel was raised due to events in Nashville. I would not stay at this hotel again for that price and may have stayed closed to downtown area for that much money. Room was newly remodeled and was nice enough but all hard wood floors which was not something I would choose either.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great space and staff"
The entire experience was beyond what I could have expected; the hotel staff was not only very warm and greeting, but was very accommodating no matter what the hour and generous during the periods of construction they were undergoing. The hotel lobby was spacious and beautifully decorated with modern, quasi-minimalist furniture with a bit of an asian […] flair. Every floor/hotel aspect was easily accessed from every direction, especially with the connecting parking garage. The room was FABULOUS, beautifully decorated with the same modern style furniture and extremely spacious. It was very comfortable and the bathroom was impeccably clean as well as very spacious again. Overall the entire experience was wonderful, highly recommended. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Enjoyed our stay- rooms are huge. Doing alot of new construction- will really be nice when complete.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
I was only there one night... it's a good hotel. They are under renovation, so it's a little difficult to rate it generally. However, our room was good and it is very close to music row.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Hotel needs improvements"
Not enough lighting - room too dark. Not enough electrical plugs - only one accessable under desk, had to unplug the lamp for enough power for electronics while climbing under a desk to change out plugs when needed. Air conditioner, loud, woke me up several times. Hall and room doors slam shut, loud, woke me up several times. Electronic room key did […] not work at my door nor the parking garage door for 3 days without going to registration to recharge; and I know to keep them away from cell phones and magnets. While the room was clean and beds were comfortable, the annoying key issues, loud AC, loud doors, lack of electrical, low lighting are enough for me not to consider staying again. Not bad but old converted office buildings need to have some spunk to work. This has a bit of a funky lobby and a rabbit warren of rooms. Still under some construction but being finished wont change much. Friendly staff. Why Westin co brands Aloft is a bit of a mystery. "Under construction but very accommodating"
When we first walked in the lobby we were shocked at the condition of the hotel Clearly they were in the midst of a large construction project. We were quickly assured that the rooms were not in the same condition as the lobby. This was true, the room was quite nice. Upon checking in we were given complimentary parking which is normally $18 a day and […] complimentary passes to breakfast since the hotel restaurant was currently closed and under construction. The breakfast was fairly nice under the circumstances and consisted of different juices, coffee, sausage, eggs, pastries, bagels, etc. We were also moved to a room with a king bed since I mentioned we didn't need 2 queens but that was all that was available online when we booked the trip. The room was spacious with nice furniture and wood floors. The bathroom was nice as well. My only complaint is there was some dirt in areas that may not normally need cleaning often but with the construction probably should have been wiped down like the back of the bathroom door. The hotel staff and construction staff were all very friendly. We chose this hotel since they allowed dogs at no additional charge. The staff was always cheerful and offered treats to our dog anytime we were in the lobby. It looks like the renovations will be very nice once they are completed. We would definitely stay here again, especially if we are traveling with our dog. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Met our needs"
The room was spacious and clean. The shower was great. The breakfast was dismal at best. It was complimentary because of construction. I'd hate to have had to pay for it. Overall it was an ok hotel. Perhaps when the construction is over it'll be better.Genuine Expedia guest review
Unfortunately, we were surprised when we arrived about the amount of updating that the hotel is going through. We knew when we booked that it was going through some renovations but this was more than just renovations. We were awoken by hammers and people dropping heavy items very early, both mornings of our stay. You have to park in a lot behind the […] hotel and pay to park. Fortunately, with the amount of renovations that they were doing, we were comped for our parking and breakfast both days which really was appreciated. I am sure with the amount of work going on that the hotel will be beautiful when completed and more than likely we would stay there again. One other drawback, is the distance to the "strip" , it was a cab ride. Not really within walking distance. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
The hotel was undergoing major renovations, which was not disclosed when I made the reservation. We were not expecting to stay in a construction zone. The interior of the hotel was gutted. Several ameneties that we intended to use (e.g. fitness center) were not available due to renovations. To add insult to injury, I am pregnant and am quite upset that […] I was subjected to inhaling VOCs while we slept and who knows what other chemicals found in the construction materials. Considering the state of the hotel, the room rate that we paid was obsene. We absolutely will never stay at an Aloft hotel again. "Worst experience ever"
When we arrived we found the hotel under renovation. Not minor renovation either. The entire ground floor was in pieces and covered in plastic. The restaurant, bar, and convenience shop were all closed for the renovation. I believe we should have recieved notification of this so we could have made other plans. To make matters worse the construction […] resumed at 7:30 am the following Sunday morning. The staff was okay considering Im sure that they were blasted by everyone when they checked out. I could have definitely found another way to spend 200 dollars. A free continental breakfast did not begin to compensate for our miserable experience. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Lack of amenities, wait until construction is done"
Disappointed- under construction. We chose to splurge for a nice hotel in downtown Nashville but did not notice on expedia that the hotel is under construction. All the pictures online are of what the hotel WILL look like. There's no lobby, no bar, connected restaurant is Japanese food only. Room with King bed was nice but its modern- no shower door, […] could hear neighbors sneeze and drop things in their room... Nothing was very well marked, all the signs were sitting on the floor. Entrance from parking garage is poorly marked and filthy. Some of the floors were being painted, we could hear the construction workers in the morning. Some of the staff were nice... One called us a cab, but then it was taken by other guests. The button to exit the parking garage didn't work and we had to exit via the entrance. By the way- they normally charge $18 for self-park, but this was waived due to the construction. Wish we would have known that they were asking high dollar for a downtown hotel but not offering the perks. :( Like I said, the room was fine but had I known we weren't getting the amenities I thought I was paying for, I would have stayed elsewhere!!! "Disappointing, not Starwood standards."
The hotel is currently undergoing renovations and should have been closed during this time because of the disruptive work taking place (very early, very loud, & very inconvenient conditions). They also seemed to be short on items; cots, towels, etc. – it generally seemed as though they did not have their act together the entire weekend. They offer a […] free breakfast for all of the inconveniences, but that too, seemed to disappoint. Upon check-in, 1 of the 2 rooms booked for my stay was unavailable (?), so we were “upgraded” only to find the upgraded room was on one of the unfinished floors where it appeared no one else had been booked due to the hallways being worked on, etc. Room service did not even bother to venture to this floor, despite calling the front-desk to alert them to this problem. The rooms are decent, & I found the bathroom to be very unpleasant – there is no door on the shower, & you can hear everything taking place in the bathroom from the far end of the room (or maybe it’s because the door is wooden, with a vent-like design) – nothing special otherwise. I did not see any staff other than the 2 people at the Lobby, who again, were very "blah" (if this is a vision of W Hotels, they are on the complete opposite end of the spectrum in the customer service dept.), I have a sense of false advertising feel with this hotel, people will see the W name and book to stay, but be very disappointed. We were very upset that when we walked in the lobby, bar, hallways, everything but our room was under construction. The room number wasnt even on the wall or door. Had we known this we would have chosen another hotel, especially since we we still paid full price.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Renovating Hotel Through April 2013"
The hotel was being renovated during our stay and besides a few unexpected evening knocks on the door to measure the room the stay was pleasant. Good location with easy walks downtown or Vanderbilt and good if you don't plan on staying in the room except to sleep. "Noisy, paper-thin walls, under construction"
This was the worst hotel I have stayed at in 30 years of business travel for noise from rooms on any side. Even normal conversation carried right through. "Impressive. But under construction"
The hotel was being remodeled when I stayed so the lobby and common areas will likely look much different in a few weeks. The rooms were excellent; modern, carpetless floors, and twice the space if other hotels. Bathroom was nice; shower was great. Only issue was that I left a message with the person in in charge of setting up corporate rates to call […] me. 2 days later I have not yet heard from her. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Trendy & Comfortable though service was average"
The hotel was undergoing renovation, so the workout room and restaurant were not operable. I wish I'd known that ahead of time, but the convenient location gave access to nearby happenings, so we were never bored (only a $5 cab ride to the arena and music row). Check in with Expedia reservation, easy and efficient. Elevator small, so check out time […] was a bit slow. There was a complementary breakfast (i think because the restaurant was closed), it wasn't very tasty, but I enjoyed the cold cereal well enough. The room itself was exquisite. I enjoyed the amenities of the room. Trendy, contemporary, stylish and comfy. Front desk staff was dryly pleasant, a bit fakey, but not rude. Valet parking was convenient. The attendants were awesome! Free tea, coffee and water in the room. Overall, very pleasant experience. Will definitely stay again, if I get a good rate on Expedia. "Nice, but too expensive & you have to pay to park."
The cleanliness of the hotel was good, but it's way overpriced... The Hampton Inn just a few doors down is a much better hotel. "diamond in the rough"
Overall the stay was satisfactory. We were disappointed, however, that there was construction being done and not everything was open. And as we were placed on a floor that was being worked on we were woken up by 7:00am daily with the sounds of construction workers. Our room still had things not completed, such as no closet hanging bar. When we arrived […] in the assigned room we found that there were still customers staying there and had to call down and be moved - a little disorganized at the front desk. We also did not realize that parking in the hotel garage was at an additional cost as that was not told us upon check in. We think that once construction is complete it'll be a beautiful hotel but maybe wait a couple of months before staying there. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Ok. Not good for the money"
This hotel is being redone but it lacked a lot of the amenities you expect in a hotel of this kind. The phone did not work in our room. The staff was sloppy looking. Not very friendly. I'd definitely try again once the remod is done if the price was right because its the only hotel in the area that allows dogs.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Room was amazing/Goten Restaurant was aweful."
I stayed in this hotel this week for business and was more than pleasantly surprised. The front desk folks were cordial but the all star was the room. Like a huge NYC loft, cool, but not "trying". Hardwood floors, spacious modern bathroom, great accoutrements in the bathroom etc. Great spacious desk with free wireless (fast) and plenty of outlets and […] usb ports. The only negative was Goten, the Japanese restaurant on site. The food was average at best with limited sushi and sashimi choices. The service was slow and horrific, the sushi chef was surly and the waiter was clearly a college kid who had no clue of the menu, the options, etc. I can't wait to go back to the hotel though and definitely where I will stay the next time I'm in Nashville. Have read some reviews on here of guests not being totally overjoyed with the renovation of this property. I was on a business trip mid-January and the status of the renovation looked terrific.
