"Thanksgiving visit 2013"
Impossible to detect hotel entry from a five-lane street, until it is too late. Where is the entry? On top of that, because this hotel is at the edges of dangerous neighborhood, you have to drive past some bad looking buildings and people to get back around. Too many (bored) staff people with attitudes. Odd set up for fitness, pool, spa. Loved the iluminated […] do not disturb / make up room signs. VERY comfortable roomy rooms. Lamp light switched too bright (we had to cover with towels to tone down the brightness. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"best bed in the neighborhood"
most excellent (only wish we had more time at the Hotel) to take advantage of all the services.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Beautiful hotel. The room and the staff at the front desk were very nice. Parking was expensive, over $50 a night.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Thanksgiving weekend in S.F."
We've stayed at this hotel a few times now and our experiences are consistently very good. The location is great for what we wanted to do, and the staff is very friendly and helpfulGenuine Expedia guest review
"Close to shopping and Moscone Center"
Extra comfortable beds. Very clean room! Parking charge very high, but public parking nearby at half the cost!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice hotel, but be careful of traffic!"
We've stayed here many times and would return again, but not on a holiday weekend and CERTAINLY not with a car where it costs $52 to park your car overnight. Because it's close to the shopping areas, foot traffic is maddening and made the last half mile of our commute take over 45 minutes. Sheesh...Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great hotel for night or two in San Fran."
Had a layover before heading to Hawaii. Great hotel to see city in a day. Conveniently located. Concierge was fantastic.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Nice hotel right down town!"
I stayed at the Intercontinental San Francisco for a week on business. It's a great location walking distance from Union Square and only a few miles from just about all of the big San Francisco sights. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the rooms were clean and modern. We had two twelve year old boys with us and the staff went out of their […] way to give them a little extra love, chocolate covered pretzels and high fives. :) Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Wonderful hotel. Staff very nice. Will definitely stay there again. Bar food not so good. Ordered a grilled cheese and soup. Don't order it. The sandwich came in little triangles, all bread, no cheese. For such a great hotel I was kind of shocked.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice & Convenient"
Beautiful city viewsGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"good price, amazing views"
good price, nice modern rooms, amazing views if you get something past the 20th floor. unfortunate that they don't offer free wi-fi to hotel guests (even in their lobby). caution for those staying in any rooms facing east: morning/afternoon sun really heats up the room quickly and the A/C can only keep up so much.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Awesome hotel and location"
Enjoyed it a lot. Had a great time!Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Satisfied customer and parent."
My 9 yr old son and I stayed the weekend at this fabulous hotel. We stayed on the 28th floor which had an excellent view both day and night. There is an indoor pool and expansive exercise area, not to mention an outdoor sitting area on the 6 th floor. Not only was our room immaculant, the elevator areas and all windows were spotless. There is floor […] to ceiling windows in the rooms and at the end of each floor for breathtaking viewing. Our bathroom had a tiled shower and the glass door looked like a door in a spa. Our room had a business area with a desk and convenient electronic charging station. There is a beautiful revolving door at the entrancr , along with bellhops and doormen. We felt like we were in New York. The rooms are very quiet. The staff are knowledgeable and helpful. They have maps ready and will not only map your destination , but will assist you with bus numbers and street names to watch for. We loved it and will stay again. Great hotel; awesome staff; perfect location.Genuine Expedia guest review
Everything was great. It's the tallest building in the area so the great views aren't obstructed by any neighboring buildings. The only thing I'd complain about is that the two terraces on the top floor are closed. The bar has a great selection of drinks. They are expensive but that's to be expected. Floor to ceiling windows, comfortable bed with lots […] of padding, big open shower, etc. I'm also a product snob and I liked their product line (body wash, etc.) Walking distance to a lot of neighboring areas and close to transit lines as well. Definitely recommend. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
From the second I walked in the staff was amazing and extremely courteous throughout my visit. I am already making plans to stay with them again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good, but pricey"
Nice hotel, good staff, good food in the dinning room. Paying for internet at $15/day is an outdated model, given the base price of the room.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"It was OK"
Good location but be aware I booked a Club Room based on the photo they show on hotels.com of the room but that's actually the club room on the 6th floor. The room itself was very small and just a normal room. I had massive issues with the card readers not reading the keys. It took me 1/2 an hour to get into my room one day and made me late for a meeting […] after multiple people tried multiple times to get me a workable key. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great SF hotel choice"
I live in the SF Bay Area, but needn't an overnight stay to attend a conference at a nearby hotel. The Intercontinental is conveniently located to the SF Financial District and to SOMA - exactly where I needed to be. We had a nice sized room which was well set up for business use, with large desk and counter surfaces (something that I find wanting in […] many hotels I stay in), and good lighting. We enjoyed food at the bar and the Sunday brunch - both were very nice and not super expensive. We also enjoyed the work out room, which was small but well appointed and clean. I would highly recommend this hotel to out-of-town business travelers. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"One night stay for business."
One night stay for business. Room was upgraded for no charge. Large, comfortable, nicely appointed. Close to my meeting and $50/night less than my colleagues who were staying at not-as-nice hotels in the area. Did not have time to check out fitness room or other amenities.Genuine Expedia guest review
Decent but was not happy about the effort given to accommodate for the appropriate room for a single occupant !Genuine Expedia guest review
"Nice and comfortable"
Typical hotel room, comfortable bed and clean. Would have liked a little bit more character to the room. Friendly staff.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Downtown San Francisco experience"
I absolutely loved the InterContinental San Francisco!! It was beautiful, clean, new, and the service was amazing!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nothing bad, but nothing distinctively great"
It was a perfectly fine stay. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, the bathroom was nice - but then again, I expected all of that from an Intercontinental, and I have to say a bit more. It was just a bit bland. Nothing out of the ordinary or distinct about the experience.Genuine Expedia guest review
"DONT ORDER ROOM SERVICE"
I loved the hotel but I ordered room service and it never came. And to top it off I had to go down to the front desk to have then have room service call me because i couldn't get anyone to answer. Other than that it was great, staff was friendly, location amazing for downtown. In all very nice stay and would do so again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice location, Very friendly staff."
It was our 10Th year anniversary and since we got married in S.F. we decided to spend the weekend in S.F. The hotel staff was so friendly and when they found out about the occasion they upgraded our room. When we came back from our dinner reservation we found the guest services have sent us a bottle of champagne. These were very nice touches that […] complemented the over all service we received. "No heater, cold night."
It was my first time staying at InterContinental at San Francisco. Room has all drinks and food but didn't take anything because prices are way too high. The room was clean and nice with view. AC was working properly, but the thermometer does not have a function for Heater at all. The outdoor temperature was 50F so I was trying to change to the higher […] temperature but AC was blowing Cold air. It was just circulating the room air by itself. so I just turned off the AC instead of calling service. Also the AC vent cover was losing the bolt, so I had tighten them to not moving. Pre-loaded food and drinks are priced, so I was wondering if there was anything they charge if I use shampoo, conditioner, soap, etc.. Of course they are free to use, but I was feeling like everything might be billed even I paid almost $400 for a night. But it was good place to stay. I will stay again if I go to SF. This is a lovely hotel with many amenities. The location is a safe walking distance to Market where you can shop or walk down to the Ferry Building along the water. The Marcone Convention Center is also right by the hotel. The room was clean, spacious, and the bed was very comfortable. This is very important to me! "A real treat for mom and kids"
I was unexpectedly traveling by myself with 2 kids and appreciated the kindness and helpfulness of the concierge and guys at the door in helping things go smoothly as we ventured out for meals, tourist sites and finally to the airport. The pool was a treat for the kids, and the room a nice haven after busy time in the city. Lots of good places to eat […] close by, shopping, too, if I had had the time, and near a great place to catch the cable cars! One of several nice memories of our San Francisco trip. The hotel was everything we expected. But the lobby restaurant, Luce, made the visit special. We stopped in for a cocktail and stayed for a tour of their small plates the first night. Enjoyed spending the night there. Very comfortable and clean room. Couldn't find the ICE dispensary which was annoying.Genuine Expedia guest review
Second time at the Intercontinental and another good experience. Hotel is really comfy and fairly well located for downtown. Recommended.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"The hotel is very modern and kept very clean."
We were unhappy with the location. Its too far from Fisherman's Wharf and at night we felt it was unsafe to walk around in that area.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Room is not cleaned 100%"
A sticker is found on the bathroom door, a scraped paper is found behind the floor lamp siting at the corner. Woke up at 3am by the noisy screaming drunken neighbor, called the front desk and they sent security right away. All these should not happen for this brand!Genuine Expedia guest review
We loved this hotel. The room was large for San Francisco standards. The staff allowed us to check in at 11 am which was extremely helpful. We chose to eat in the restaurant, Luce, which is downstairs, and it was one of the best places we had ever eaten. We found it easy to walk to Union Square from this hotel as well. The only downfall would be the […] price and worse yet, the parking and wifi are also extremely expensive. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Get Your Own Limo or Tesla, You'll Be Treated Wel"
From the moment we drove up in our cheap (Ford) rental car we were treated like the serfs we are. This is a businessman's hotel, on the expense account strictly. Cost is no object for 99% of the guests. and the location is strictly Moscone Center; or, south of Market is STILL south of Market. But this is a fine hotel, we had a good time, and it was […] the best choice given the sudden planning of the trip. I "KNOW" Intercontinental wishes they could have put the hotel closer to Union Square, but you'll be fine staying here. Yes, I AM a businessman, but it's MY business and the expense account comes directly out of MY pocket. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Too expensive for what it offer"
Do you want internet? It's not included - pay for it! Do you want TV (not at all, not even free channels). Pay for it! Do you want breakfast? Pay for it! Staff very nice but for US$ 250/night I expected at least the internet. There are far better options close to this hotelGenuine Expedia guest review
"large nice hotel"
the bar was fantastic. The front desk was very nice. the cleaning team did a wonderful job, the valet team was top notch. The bed was very soft and comfortable. the hotel isn't on Union Square. it is closer to the convention center. but only a few blocks off the beaten path. The surrounding area doesn't have "cafe" like restaurants, nor boutique hotels […] and high end stores, those are about 6-7 blocks away. But everything is so close in downtown SF that it is really easy to get to the tourist attractions quite quickly. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Nice views, Excellent Service."
Pros: Stayed on the 31st floor (a free upgrade when we arrived which was very nice of them) and had spectacular views to the west. Close to SOMA area and mall. Room was good sized. Restroom was very large with separate bathtub and shower, and restroom amenities were extensive. Liked the electronic "Do not disturb" and clean room now buttons. Ample closet […] space. Bellman was very funny and helpful. We parked our car at my relative's home nearby, and valet allowed use to leave the car for a few minutes while we took our bags up. Cons: Handheld shower head had to be wedged into pole and wall to keep it from falling off (either poor design or broken, not sure which). Large shower, but no seat or step to put your foot on to soap up or females to shave their legs. Minibar left very little room for any occupant items coupled with electronic monitoring of items in minibar made it so you can not move or touch them without getting charged. This left the ice bucket to chill a bottle of wine and it was very small bucket, barely allowing the bottom of the bottle and very little ice. Would stay here again. "A little off Union Square"
Nice hotel a little off Union Square. Had a good view from our room of the Union Square and downtown areas. Clean hotel with a friendly staff. I would stay here again. If flying out, use their car service to the airport. It's the same price as a taxi but much nicer.Genuine Expedia guest review
When checking in, the elderly lady at the front desk was not only rude but also very unprofessional. We could hardly understand her English and her facial expression was filled with both apathy and 'I hate my job' attitude. When entering and exiting the building, no staff said 'hi' or 'bye' - instead, they were all literally standing there - chitchatting […] with other staffs. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

They promise way too much but when you actually get there is not what it seems . We were promised great views of the bay but instead our view was blocked by the hotel itself and when we asked about changing rooms they wanted extra money . They charge you 52$ a night for our car ridiculous . Never stayiny there againGenuine Expedia guest review
