We stopped here on a North to South cross-country drive with our two girls (5 and 2). It was clean, quiet, the staff was responsive to any needs we had, and the breakfast was fine. We even found options for our wheat-free, dairy-free child.

Hotel was very nice. Few things in room could have been better. More towels and pillows. Bed was to hard for us. Hotel is on the highway so you could hear the traffic. Otherwise everything was very good. Would stay again but would want room not facing highway.

This is a new Hotel and in excellent condition. The layout is well planned. It would be nice if the pool was a bit larger but it is nice that they have the pool open only to adults for 2 hours each night. I was very pleased with the hotel overall. The breakfast buffet was wonderful and the buffet staff was very friendly and efficient. My only complaint […] would be the check-in staff. They weren't even at the desk when we walked in, we waited for 5 min before I finally called for someone. Overall, our stay was excellent after that point. The rest of the staff was amazing and I would recommend it to anyone else to stay again. Read more

we have stayed at this hotel many times. Our son attends EIU there and this has been a wonderful hotel choice. I recommend going directly to Holiday inn's website to get a rate on the hotel. i am not sure going through Hotels.com that we got the best rate.

When traveling with a family of adults, it is important to our group that a suite shouldbe what I believe most of us still think is a suite. We have stayed at dozens of locations around the country and typically a suite has a seperate bedroom with a couch bed in the living area. Nice stay, the staff was professional and helpful. After driving 5 hours we arrived early, 2 hours before check-in time.The staff made our room up in minutes, and we were able to freshen up, change, and leave on time for our appointment. The breakfest was hot, tasty, and always maintained, with great coffee. We will stay there again.

We visit family in Mattoon a couple of times a year and have stayed in most of the hotels in the area. Up to now, Comfort Suites was our favorite (and is still generally our first choice simply because of room size). However, this Holiday Inn Express is newer and cleaner than any of the other local hotel choices. Rooms are very similar to Hampton Inn […] and the non-suite Comfort Suite rooms. The deal we got was great, but this hotel is normally $20-$30 more per night than other comparable local hotels and I do not see where the extra value comes from. This hotel is across the street from the main hotel park with several restaurants within a very short drive. Read more

Hotel is a standard hotel, located not too far from the highway or from where I was working so was an ideal location for me. Hotel was clean and tidy enough. Not a lot in walking distance though
