Very nice hotel and rooms. My only complaint were the pillows. They were horrible but other than that everything was perfect. Great location. Near a lot of shopping and restaurants.

Checked in around 6. Bellman stood inside the door and just stared. No offer to help with bags. Desk clerk didn't realize we had pre paid for breakfast but corrected that error. She also couldn't find our priority club number. I found it after checking on the internet. Room was a handicapped room with enough room for a high school prom. Didn't reserve […] that type of room but it was clean and comfortable. Don't waste your money on breakfast. Cold eggs and a totally uninterested staff. The booth seats were all torn and dirty. We disppointed the wireless Internet was not working for our 2 day stay. Our bathtub leaked while showering which left a lot of water on the floor. My husbands room key did not work and we were not permitted a rollaway bed even though there was plenty of space in our room. The pool was warm and enjoyable. • My stay was just to break up a 10 drive home with a sick kid from the beach. Was excited to see they had laundry. But it only took quarters and neither the bar or front desk had any, was told that maybe the gas station was where I should try. • It was pretty empty on our stay, maybe 10 other cars in the parking lot, but when we tried to get room service, […] it took about 5 minutes to answer just to be hung up on. • Called the front desk to see if there were soda machines on every floor. The guy said "yes on every floor". So I walked from one end of floor three to the other, no machine. Called back down and the same guy told me "there are soda machines are floors 2,4,5". But last time I check some floors aren't all floors. Didn't given get an apology from him for the bad information or time wasted hunting. • The housekeeper stopped by to clean at 7:45 then seemed annoyed when we said to come back. We were packing getting ready to leave, but most trips at 8 am, I'm still asleep or relaxing. So in all, the hotel was very nice if you don't need to speak to any employees. Loved the beds, but why on earth do they have square pillows, very uncomfortable. Read more

The hotel was hard to find at first, but once found it was a snap to get out and about. The room had ants on the air conditioning unit, two light bulbs were out in the lamps, stains all over the couch and the carpet was tore up in places almost look like someone bled all over and red on the walls which made me question the hotel lol. -close to everything just confusing to find. -hallways were hot. didn't feel like there was any air conditioning. -the room smelled extremely musty/damp. i did read this on other reviews and figured that they would have fixed the issue - they have not! it is horrible!

The hotel itself is great is the customer service. I have stayed at this particular location several times and this was the first time that my bathroom didn't look clean. The bathroom floor had footprints on it and the toilet looked as if it had not been cleaned.

On our way to Atlanta, we stayed (3 incld. our daughter) two nights at the Holiday Inn Birmingham - Homewood. When we first arrived, there was a big party spilled out in front of the main entrance of the hotel with people smoking & drinking. The hotel was poorly maintained, smelled musty all over, including the corridors and our room!. Next day, we […] left the hotel at noon and specifically requested housekeeping from the person at the front desk.. Since we all took showers, we needed clean towels, as well. When we came back that evening, we saw that no housekeeping was done, all dirty towels were still on the floor. So, we had to call the front desk to get new towels at least & we had to go down to the front desk later to get them. This hotel is terrible, even Motel 8 has a much better service and maintenance.
