"Location is good, quality is not so great."
We requested a double bed over the phone and were assured that we would receive it. Upon arrival, we changed rooms 3 times because they kept assigning a room with 2 twin beds. We had to wait a half hour for the reception to check all available rooms for a double bed. The rooms are very minimalistic and OK for only one night., they were not unclean, […] but they were not kept in good condition. The street side is very noisy on the weekend with music blasting and people talking. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
The breakfast bag was a joke. It would be more honest not to provide anything. However we did appreciate the coffee that was available in the lobby.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Bare bones hotel with the basics. Hardwood floors which I actually liked- some may not. Was dropped off at the wrong address so had to drag luggage across the street only to find out I may be coming back to that site (evidently they have 3 hotels around the same area but not connected but you go to the main address to check in). Convenient for sight […] seeing - about 3 blocks from the harbor. Never did get my wake up call; bring an alarm clock. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Know what you're getting into"
We had a major problem with the booking. I had understood that there would be a bedroom with 2 twin beds plus a living room area with a couch that would sleep an additional 2 people. What we found was 1 large room with both the 2 beds and pull out couch all in the same room. There was seating for only 2. We had to get chairs and a table and bring it […] up to the room ourselves. Furthermore, the part of the hotel that we stayed in was across the street from the main hotel with the front desk. This would not have been such an issue had there been a phone in our room, but there wasn't. The only way to contact he front desk was to go downstairs and across the street. This was particulary disturbing on the last night of our stay when the fire alarm went off at 5 a.m. and wouldn't stop. There was no information given from the management and we were left to wonder whether or not we should be getting out of bed and going outside. In the end, it was a false alarm, but we never heard a word about it from management. All that being said, once we got used to 4 adults sharing a single room, the room itself was clean and comfortable and the location was very convenient. If you know what you are getting, it's not a bad deal. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"In desperate need of an upgrade"
Looking for a clean, lower-priced (for Bergen) hotel just to rest your head, this will suffice. Room is clean, good location (seven blocks from train station), but that's about it. Guest floors are in need of significant repair, furniture is worn, linen carts litter the hallways. Several rooms are located directly above a sports bar which is loud and […] active with an outdoor patio until after 2am. Windows are not insulated, so street and bar noise can be significant, even for a heavy sleeper. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Reasonable place to stay"
Clean and comfortable. The "breakfast" consisted of a ham and cheese sandwich with not much of either, an apple and a juice box. After a day or two, I couldn't face another of the sandwiches. They do have coffee/tea in the lobby 24/7, laundry facilities and they are in a good location with places to buy groceries, take-out food nearby.Genuine Expedia guest review
Great place to stay for a reasonable price. 5 minutes walk from Fish Market Square.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Somewhat disappointing hotel. Very poor breakfast"
For the price, the room is incredibly small and basic. The walls are thin and the "breakfast" is very disappointing.Genuine Expedia guest review
Had a problem with the room and they upgraded me to a suite.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
As others have mentioned in their reviews there is a bar just outside this hotel. The closing time is 2 or 3 I stopped looking at the clock the first night. The noise was better the second night. The location was good. We walked to some of the sights in Bergen. Everything is expensive in Norway but this hotel is a bit overpriced for the size of the […] rooms and the cleanliness in my opinion. "In the heart of Bergen"
Expensive hotel for what you get. Our room was located in another buildig. No phone to contact hotel staff for anything. No parking and the parknig 3 blocks away was about $ 20 per night. Bar downstairs was loud and would not quiet down until 2 am. Bring your own toiletries. Breakfast consisted of a juice, apple and a ham sandwich in a bag hanging on […] your door in the morning. Great location. Very central. Walking distance to all the main attractions in Bergen. We walked from the train station (15minutes). Rooms were smallish but clean and satisfactory. A bit pricey but that`s Bergen for you. Worth it though. Well worth a visit.Genuine Expedia guest review
"A Great Hotel in Central Bergen"
I was very happy with the location and quality of this hotel...it's truly a steal for the price. It's right in the city center, only a couple of blocks from some of the priciest options in town and a short walk to the waterfront/Bryggen area. The room was nicely appointed and up-to-date and the daily breakfast delivered to the door was very convenient. […] My only lower mark on comfort is because the weather was warm (mid-70s) and the window would only open 1 inch so it was very stuffy at night. I don't expect A/C in Norway, but a window that gives a little air flow should be standard. Overall, I highly recommend the P-Hotel. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

more negatives than positives about the hotel. good location, staff friendly and did respond to request for a fan but it took 24 hours. the building was probably apartments and now used for a hotel. way over priced for the services provided and quality of the room. breakfast was delivered to room and consists of a sandwich, apple, orange juice every day. Slighly above a motel 6 in USA. Noisy bar below until 3AM. Great location. Close to fish market and close to the SAS bus that picks and drops you off for airport. Coffee in lobby out of a machine in the morning. The breakfast they hand on your door consists of a juice box, a soggy white bread sandwich and an apple. Yuck. "OK, but nothing special for the price"
OK, but didn't compare well to other hotels we stayed at over two weeks of touring. Good location for touring Bergen on foot. "Breakfast" included in the price was decidedly second, or maybe third or fourth, rate.Genuine Expedia guest review
"shabby but not chic"
the hotel was shabby. Dirty slipcovers on the couch. Dirt and peeling paint in the room. Broken shower head.Genuine Expedia guest review
Room itself was OK, clean but small. Crowd noise with the bars letting out- woke us up several times. Breakfast was a bit disappointing: sandwich, apple and box of juiceGenuine Expedia guest review
"Great Staff and Location"
Really liked the staff at this hotel - very friendly and helpful. The room was bright and the right size for a couple. Close to everything - lots of restaurants and shopping nearby.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Hotel is easy to find. Within walking distance from the main train station in Bergen. Bag breakfast provided at your door in the morning. Great for taking with you and eating later in the day. This was a good hotel. Not exceptional, but good. I would stay here again. The staff was pleasant, not overly friendly as I found almost everyone else in Norway […] to be. Lots of places to eat and entertainment near by. Words of advise: Get a map of Bergen before you go if you are going to arrive late by train. We did the Norway in a Nutshell trip and arrived in after 8PM and there office to get a map was closed. Lucky we found some friendly people to share a map with us so we were able to locate the hotel. "Excellent Location, Good Value For The Money"
The hotel was easy to find, only 2 blocks from the airport bus stop, right in the center of Bergen's downtown near all the tourist sights. Our room was very comfortable, clean and warm. The bed was comfortable and had nice blankets. The bathroom even had a heated tile floor. There were TV channels available in English. They leave a breakfast sandwich, […] a juice box and a piece of fruit in a bag in front of your door in the morning. They have tea and coffee available in the lobby. Check-in, check-out was smooth. They let us leave our bags with the reception desk the next day until the late afternoon with no problem. The location was really excellent. I considered less expensive hotels farther out from the city center, but now that I have been to Norway I see I wouldn't really have saved any money because the bus and taxi fares are so expensive anyway. "reasonably priced for Bergen and great location"
Hotel location is ideal for tourists, within walking distance of the harbour and close to everything. The room is clean and adequate but the bathroom is very small with a drain in the floor and a curtain for the shower. "OK as basic student dorm-type hotel"
Hotel staff friendly and helpful with one exception (out of 5-6) - conditions of room are basic with few outlets but comfortable beds. Cleanliness adequate and towels few but ok. Shower is not contained, so need extra towels to mop up the floor after each shower so next person using bathroom does not slip. Hotel provided hot water carafe to boil own […] water, which helps for tea-drinkers. Supermarket just opposite is convenient to bring in food and help offset the outrageous prices of restaurants in Bergen (even worse than Oslo, which is bad enough!). So, as a student-dorm hotel it is ok, but overpriced by any standard except that of Bergen. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Room was the smallest room and run down furniture we had in Norway. You could hear anyone in the rooms above or next to you. The neighborhood was good-near places to eat. OK if you are just crashing for one night but would not stay longer then that.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Horrible hotel !"
It was horrible! Quality of service was so poor. We were located in the second building, where there was nothing except dirty bar where everybody were shouting whole night and were smoking cigaretess(room was "non-smoking" ) and additionaly there was no air - conditioner so we had to open the window. "Not a good family hotel"
This is an older building so we weren't expecting perfection, but the hotel left much to be desired. Comfortable beds would be my first wish! Room-darkening drapes is a must have in a country with midnight sun summers. This room did not have drapes for several of the windows meaning we had a bright room all night. The hotel is in a lively college neighborhood […] with a bar below. This was a terrible location to try and sleep especially when combined with no drapes and uncomfortable beds. Also, I am accustomed to a Scandinavian buffet breakfast when traveling in Norway. All we received here was a premised sandwich and coffee in the lobby, better than nothing though in one of the most expensive cities in the world! I will say the lobby staff was very kind and helpful, but if you have children or are not interested in the night life, find a different area to stay. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"it's a good choice for bag packers"
It is half minute away from the blue stone. So the location is very convenient. But there is no luggage room so people have to leave the bags outside in front of the reception, that's not normal. The rooms are ok, much dusts actually. But it's big.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great location, but hotel is budget at best"
P-Hotels Bergen is perfectly located in the heart of Bergen. There are a lot of cool things to do within a 5-minute walk. However, the hotel itself needs work. The lobby is under construction, which is fine, but the rooms are sparse. You get what you pay for however, and this is the most economical option in Bergen.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Just not my day"
Unfortunately did I stay there while there was a lot of noise (on a Monday) outside and the windows was not exactely sound proof. The elevator did not work (that day) and the breakfast was surprisingly just packed in a bag supposed to hang outside your door............mine was not hanging there so I got mine while checking out. "Great location for the Hotel!!!"
My husband and I stayed here for a nice in March, the room was basic but clean, bed was super comfy, pillows snd blankets were cozy too, room was warm at night which was lovely. the staff were very nice and helpful. We were told we can help ourselves to tea/coffee in reception, which was great. In the morning we had a breakfast bag of apple juice, an […] apple and a sandwich each. Being pregnant I couldn't eat the sandwich as it was ham so my husband ate both, said it was nice. On check out there was a locked place to store our bags while we walked around before our flight back to London. In all a very good hotel. Definitely recommend staying and we would stay again here if we returned to Bergen. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Nice Place to Stay in Bergen"
Considering how expensive everything in Norway is, this was a nice find. We stayed in a building across the street from the main hotel. Wi fi in the room was not so great, but didn't spend much time there anyway. Staff was very friendly, room was clean, although a bit dated (just seemed a bit dark). The barman in the pub on the ground floor was very […] helpful and the wifi worked great there. The hotel is located right in the middle of Bergen, so getting everywhere was no problem. "Nice hotel but you will not sleep"
Nice enough hotel, no complaints with it. However unable to sleep due to the nightclub downstairs. music starts at 11pm and finishes around 3am. Its not just the sound, but also the vibration through the floor, the bed, you will not sleep. Believe the reviews. Earplugs will not block out the sound (or the vibrations).Genuine Expedia guest review
"Nice hotel right in the centre of Bergen."
The ear plugs in the room were a warning of the noise that would come from the nightclub across the road. That said, it's all part of the experience and with free wi fi and free coffee (unusual in Europe) I would certainly stay there again. The lady at reception was extremely helpful and had to deal with some challenging guests who could not understand […] that English is not everyone's first language.
