Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Ventura - Ventura

I've stayed here before and liked it. This time my boyfriends elderly mom was visiting and stayed here. The staff was incredibly awesome in accommodating her and her cat. The room was nice and the view was great.

The room we were assigned had an unpleasant odor - perhaps dog urine. We were given another room that was ok smell-wise and had a nice view of the marina and of sunset. The next morning we had to deal with the strong odor of fertilizer being applied to the fields across the street.

The room was nice and we ended up with a view of the Harbor. The breakfast spread was also nice.The only draw back was, the next morning we got a bill under our door for 10.00 dollars(a day) for parking,which was not disclosed upon checking in.We did however,receive a parking permit with which we were instructed to place on the driver side dash so that […] security knew we were staying at the hotel. We did inquire where else could we have parked, and were told nowhere,because if you park on the street you will be towed away.Next time we stay anywhere we will ask about parking. Read more

Was disappointed in our stay at Holiday Inn Express. The desk in the room had sticky spills that were not cleaned up and there were actually dirty cleaning rags left on the floor. As other reviews have stated, you will also be charged extra for parking.

Was there to go to the courthouse on Victoria Ave in Ventura. Our room was comfortable, the breakfast room was clean and attractive for dining and the food was much better than I expected. I would return again to the hotel. The price was very fair for the quality

Nice clean hotel. Comfortable bed and great coffee in the morning downstairs in the breakfast room. Nothing fancy but I'd definitely stay here again. $10 a night parking is a bummer but we did know about that ahead of time.

This hotel was not what I expected for a Holiday Inn Express. Bathrooms were old and the TV was all screwed up. While the view was great over the harbor, the sewage treatment plant near the hotel often sent odors into the room.

I found the "hot buffet" very disappointing, especially the cold and fake tasting omelets. No choice in fresh fruit, only one kind of juice (oj) and no herb tea. But our room was lovely with a balcony and view of the harbor.

This is a nice hotel. PRO..... It is close to downtown, easy to get to from the freeway. nice setting, nice staff, clean, room size okay, breakfast filling. CON.... One elevator for two floors and how many rooms needing that ONE elevator???

I thought the hotel was lovely, my only complaint was that I had to pay an additional $10 per night per car for parking. It can really add up if you have a couple cars and are staying a few nights.

For a one night stay this was perfect. Close to the beach/marina and great eateries. Be aware, this hotel allows pets and there is a $10.00 parking fee. The shower head wouldn't adjust.

The ten dollar parking fee for one night was a surprise! Otherwise, this is a very good location for walking to nearby restaurants and shops. The room is clean and spacious with harbor view. The breakfast quality needs to improve(eggs and orange juice are watery and tasteless.)

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, sipping mimosas on the balcony overlooking the harbor. Really friendly staff, great service, and a pretty nice free breakfast. The only thing about the hotel we didn't care for was the $10 parking fee. Guests should be able to park for free.

We had a great time right by the water. Things that matter...Staff - Excellent friendly helpful. Room= Clean, comfortable. Location = By bike , walking , jogging path. Easy to get into town. It was a great stay. Last evening we stayed the couple in room next door ran their tub jacuzzi with a defective pump. It thumped during the time they sat in the […] tub. LOUD thumps. Great view quick responding customer service for towels, pillows and a crib. The room was clean except the desk area which had crumbs on it. The screen door to the balcony had been pushed through on the side and had a 2 foot hole in it. It was also not sliding properly. The location of this hotel was wonderful. close to the harbor shops and restaurants, and near enough to Main street shopping as well. The Harbor location however comes with harbor smells, ie, diesel, sulfur, just an overall funky smell throughout the entire hotel, so we couldn't really enjoy the balcony outside, or leave the large door open for "fresh" […] breezes. The included breakfast is so bad though, don't count on it for anything other than cereal and coffee, I couldn't even get hot tea! As soon as you walk in you're made to sign an extra $10 charge to park in a outdoor parking lot. The workers were very nice but once you're slapped with an extra fee you were not expecting that doesn't help much. The exterior of the hotel is still nice but carpets in th rooms had a moist squishy feel, like they'd been washed so much they couldnt be […] dried out anymore but the owners are too cheap to replace them. View of the harbor is great. Bathroom was chilly because only heat source is in bedroom and crank window doesn't close tightly. We stuffed a spare pillow in the window to keep the cold air out but some heat source in the bathroom would be nice. It can get chilly here at night in December. Wife and I took a mini vacation and headed for the coast...our favorite place besides Hawaii. Stayed at the 4points Sheraton next door before and decided to tke a shot at this hotel.
