I wouldn't stay at this hotel in the future. There is nothing in Anacortes that would draw me back to this town. It is a gateway to the ferries to the San Juan Islands or Victoria, BC. Downtown Anacortes is in transition and this hotel is a jewel; but over priced at $173.00 per night. The most disappointing facet was the meal in their dining room. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful and the overall location and setting of the Majestic is convenient. None-the-less there are downsides to the hotel. We wanted a few relaxing days and found it difficult to sleep in the very soft bed with a mattress that has probably seen many guests. In addition, we found that there was a good reason for […] the ear-plugs we found too late - we heard all our neighbors coughing, talking and walking (some incessantly and in the early hours of the morning). Very home like feel. Our room didn't feel like a hotel. Would totally go back. The town was very cute & fun to walk around at Christmas time with the decor. My only two small complaints: 1. The room was a bit too warm & the thermostat didn't help much. But we could open windows if it got too bad. 2. No fan in the bathroom which just made it harder to […] defog the mirrors. We had to crack the door to help a bit. 3. Being an old building it was very noisy at bed time. We could hear people more than normal walking around the building & everytime the upper floor used water. Nice place to spend the night before taking ferries to islands. The radiators did not work night we were there so room a little cold. Good breakfast next morning, nice staff. Historic building. We would stay there again if returning. Beats the newer chain motels which were the other choices.

This was our second stay at this hotel. We will continue to stay here when in the area. We had one incident. The fire alarm went off caused by the steam from the shower. Took several minutes to shut off. The hotel staff is very efficient and personable.

Overall my husband and I enjoyed our stay at the hotel. The staff was really nice and responsive to our needs. My husband ate breakfast several times and loved the food. We were a little surpised at how small the room was. We almost asked to upgrade, but weren't in the mood to pack up and move. The TV being so high with it's controls was tiresome to […] manipulate because you had to have your arm way over your head to turn the TV on or change channels. The other downside was the noise coming from restaurants close to the hotel on several nights and early one morning from 6:30AM to about 7:00AM. Since the weather was warm and the hotel had no air conditioning we were not able to close our windows to block out the noise. Read more

Good location, very near a lot of very nice restaurants and close to marina etc for nice walks. Staff was friendly and attentive however our room was not clean when we came back from the day out at 4pm, we had to leave and come back for them. The poor rating is mostly because the noise level, the windows are very old and not sound proofed at all meaning […] all the noise from the busy main street made its way to our room. There are also only 3 small pillows provided by default (which in a 4* hotel i would have hoped for more). Finally (and this is a small point) the toiletries provided in the bathroom (including paper) felt cheap and of an inferior quality to those i have seen in most other "good" hotels. Read more

The character of the hotel was very nice, the guest room spacious with comfortable bedding. The restaurant service was below what I expected for the cost of the room, with inattentive serving staff and cold breakfast pastries, poor wine list. The desk staff at the spa was overwhelmed with either a failing computer system or a lack of training. Whereas […] she was pleasant about a checkout problem, she was totally unable to resolve it. Loved the cupola view which the front desk recommended. The coffee offered in a bag for use in the french press within the room was a nice touch--but without instructions on water/coffee ratios, frustrating. Also, it was not offered at all on the second day of our stay. The room keys were also inoperable on day two, and required a visit to the front desk. All in all, it was a very nice hotel which could have easily become an excellent hotel with just a little attention to service details. I was disappointed. Read more

Great location and very helpful/courteous staff. Each room has a French press, and they provide you with freshly ground coffee at check-in. Nice touch! I did find the room a bit warm (no air conditioning) but with open windows and a ceiling fan it cooled down nicely after a while.

Our stay was great but the walls are thin. There was a band playing at the bar across the street and we could hear them loud and clear with our windows closed. Didn't get to sleep until they ended after 1AM. Other than that it was great.

We were purely looking for a clean place to stay the night and catch an early ferry to the islands. We were pleasantly surprised bu the beautiful Inn and wonderful staff. Can't say there is much to do in Anacortes, but this really is a beautiful Inn and the staff was great.

The hotel is a lovely old building which has been restored. It has a cupola where one can have a look over the harbor and the town. The only drawback for us was that our room was just over the street and we had early morning noise from street sweepers, etc.

Live music from the bar across the street and recorded music from the wedding reception downstairs in the courtyard made it impossible to sleep. This went on until well after 11:30 pm. I should have known there would be a problem because ear plugs were provided by the hotel.

Arrived mid-evening and received little in information such as complimentary breakfast was no longer offered (had read a dicussion in the reviews about breakfast so assumed it was offered). We also found out the second evening after it was almost entirely booked that a special Easter brunch was being offered. Other than those issues the hotel is elegant […] and relaxing. My husband and I stayed for a romantic weekend away from home. The hotel was charming, very comfortable and private. Considering the age of the building, it was nicely maintained. I was in Anacortes recently on a business trip. This is by far the nicest hotel in town. The downtown location makes it handy to explore all the cute little shops and pubs nearby. The Majestic Hotel in Anacortes is the only place to stay. It's on the site of an old hotel that burned down. They have re-built with the same character of the old hotel, but with modern fixtures and furnishings. Rooms are spacious and comfortable. The dining room is lovely and the bar is comfy and warm. We have stayed here several times and this was […] the first time we had a problem. Specifically, the housekeeping was not prompt (5:00pm one day - after we called the front desk).
