Incredibly clean, comfortable and practical. Would have provided an overall rating of 5 if free wifi was available in rooms versus common areas.

The female staff were great and very helpful. It is an 'express' hotel but I found little difference between this hotel and 'full service' counterparts. I would recommend this hotel to visitors due to the service, position, newness and cleanliness. I had a good stay here.

Although a brief walk (about 15 minutes) or cab ride from the main rail station, this would be a pleasant hotel canalside across from The Royal Armories Museum for anyone seeking to get away from the hustle and bustle of the more congested business center of Leeds. We stayed at the hotel last night with three other couples for a charity ball. The location was ideal for our requirements. Our room, although clean was very run down - black marks in the ceiling etc. However the main problem was the shower which would not turn off. We hadn't noticed the problem on check-in as we went straight out after arrival but […] on our return to the room we noticed that the shower head had been placed over the waste on the shower tray and that it was constantly running water. This was extremely annoying as we could hear it all night. I reported this to the reception staff on check-out and received the following response "thank you for letting us know" . It was quite clear that somebody already knew about this with the positioning of the shower head. The rest of our party also complained about the lack of food at the breakfast buffet and received a similar uncaring response. It appears that the hotel is used a lot because of its location and quite frankly any problems are ignored or dismissed! Read more

Having got tickets to a show at the grand theatre in Leeds , we chose the armouries hotel due to the location and the price as it was only 1 of a few offering free breakfast as knowing we had 100 miles to travel back we needed breakfast !!. the hotel is very easy to get to and only approx 15 min to the centre and 20-25 min to the actual theatre ( slow […] pace may i add ) . On checking in the reception gave us a pass for the car park next door for 24hs unlimited coming and going which was £8 for the whole time , the staff were great really helpful and made us feel welcome . The room was as we expected clean and tidy and warm which was great as the weather was a tad cold and wet !! Everything here was great. Room was very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was just ok, but then again a free breakfast is better than no breakfast. Parking I think was 8.00 p/day, and right next door in a multi level park. The overall hotel experience was very good - especially the buffet breakfast which is included in the price (there was a good selection of cold and hot food, as well as juices and coffee). The location of the hotel is superb, it was a relatively short 8 minute walk from Leeds Station and was fairly easy to find. The location is picturesque and, midweek, […] was quiet at night. The staff were nice but not remarkable; in fact there were no staff on hand at the breakfast and the checkout did not include any pleasantries. However, the room cleanliness was not of the highest standard (there was a piece of food just under the bed which a hoover would have caught if it had been around the room). Also, there were issues with the room door banging repetitively throughout the evening/ early night whenever someone else in the corridor opened their own door. For a one/two night stay, business trip or quick city break this hotel is great. However, I paid a reduced rate for a night in the hotel and am not sure I would pay the full going rate if the reduced rate was not available. Read more

We have used this hotel several times while visiting our student son. It is clean and the staff are efficient. It is great for an overnight stop. It is not far from the city centre and in a quiet location. Car parking is next door to the hotel. Yet a brisk 15 minutes walk will lead you into the cultural part of Leeds and the shopping centre. very unhappy with our room . we also had a disabled room so shower facilities were not great. A party was held on the floor & even though the night manager was called it continued we had no sleep at all .

The room wasn't very clean, with mud on the sofa, the carpet felt sticky and looked dirty. It also smelt damp. The extractor fan in the bathroom wasn't working nor was there a switch on the air conditioning unit to adjust the speed of the fan or switch it off. The air condititoning was also very loud. I would not stay here again.

The receptionist kept us waiting a while and was stood talking with another employee of the hotel. We were told on check in that the hotel was operating on a very limited menu in the restaurant because of a flood, which was a little disappointing as we then had to go in to leeds for dinner which cost a further £12 for taxi fares.

Me and my partner stayed for two nights and got a fantastic deal on booking! On arrival we were able to check in an hour early as the room was ready which was a plus. The room was very clean and well maintained. The corridors were immaculate and so was the rest of the hotel. The breakfast was lovely. The local amenities were good with the Tesco Express round the corner and the hotel is situated just a 15 minute walk along the canal from Leeds City Centre. Excellent transport links nearby! Great hotel for what we needed. Clean, quiet rooms and comfortable beds. It was a particularly hot weekend and the air conditioning was not very effective but that was the only problem with the room. Holiday Inn appear to have a scam going here, the car park next to the hotel has a Holiday Inn sign in front of it, and Holiday Inn flags along the front of it, but if you park there they will give you an £80 ticket. When I complained they said it wasn't their car park, if so why the sign and the flags, totally misleading!

Booked on a special deal through Expedia at a very good rate, even cheaper than the travel lodge. Superior rooms to the travel lodge but less convenient location, although the car park next door is a bonus, and in reality its barely a 10 minute walk to the major office buildings or the city centre. Food is some what basic, but the shepherds pie I had […] was adequate and edible, two good Indian restaurants and a pizza express just round the corner. If you're staying all week ask at the carpark office about a weekly ticket. What ever you do do, book in advance, the room rate advertised in reception is £99, at that price I would have felt severely underwhelmed. Read more
