"Below expectations"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
Having stayed at the Landis Hotel in Taipei, I expected Icon to offer the same service quality or better. After checking in, no one bothered to show us to our room and introduce us to the facilites available. I booked a harbor view room for an increased price. Sure there was a view of the harbor, if you looked to the left side. Directly outside my window was the rooftop of the mall. The concierge was helpful. I had one meal at the lobby cafe. My mom ordered a chowder in bread bowl. The bread came out toasted with green mold!! How did they miss that?! Killed our appetites immediately! I've read comments comparing Icon to the Four Seasons. One of our travel companions stayed there and I had an opportunity to rest in her room during our long afternoons in Hong Kong island. The hotel is impeccable and there was definitely no mold in our food.
"Hong Kong Weekend"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 4, 2012
Decent size room for Hong Kong. Definitely not huge but plenty big enough. Nice bathroom. Perfect Kowloon location. Clean and nice

Also referred to as East Point, Causeway Bay is a shoppers’ delight. This high-density district is home to a large number of trendy stores, shopping malls, the 13-story Sogo Department Store, and Times Square indoor shopping complex. Here, both local and imported fashion labels hang side by side. Many stores are open until the wee hours.

"Holiday Inn Causeway Bay - centrally located"
I stayed for one night and the hotel served its purpose. Nothing fancy but a clean room and a clean place to shower. The lobby makes it seem like you are in the middle of a shopping mall which is rather strange but all is the same beyond the lobby. They offer complimentary breakfast which I didn't get to take advantage of but it is a nice amenity.

"Simple, Clean"
It's hardly a four star hotel but I thought the place was clean and comfortable. It had a small gym (treadmills) and was located in a nice area close to businesses and shopping.
"Shopping close by"
I was impressed with this hotel. However, I did have to kill a few ants in the room. Times Square is directly across the street and has some of the best shopping in Hong Kong. A few of the restaurants are quite good too. Also, the MTR (subway) is close by, which is a definite convenience.
"Holiday inn express at causeway bay"
Very disappointed with the room as it was very small & not well maintained. Pretty run down with no wifi access in the room, except cable. The worst hotel I have ever stayed in causeway bay.
"small but well situated"
we enjoyed the hotel, even though the room was very small. Breakfast every day at the 3rd floor was included in our package, and there were five interesting options, always served fresh. The location was great, just in the Tiimes Square area where everything is convenient, including access to the Metro
"Great location for shoppers"
I had not stayed in this part of Hong Kong before, I prefer Central. But this is a great place for shopping as it is just across the street from Times Square and many shops along the street. The room was small, but all the conveniences were there. The front desk staff were very pleasant and helpful. The one thing disappointing was the breakfast meal […] included in the room rate, I felt like I was back in a school cafeteria! Read more

"Bland hotel in great location"
This hotel is in a great location, near to Times Square in Causeway Bay. Lots of restaurants and shopping nearby. The hotel is patently inoffensive. Room was clean enough, bed okay, breakfast sufficient. Nothing to get excited about, although perfectly reliable nonetheless.
"Hong Kong Hotel"
location was near shopping and train service. No help at hotel for tours, places to see, or eat. lobby very small,no meeting room unless you pay and reserve. There were 5 couples and we could not meet anyplace in hotel. Convention going on and hotel was very busy.
"Convenient but far from MTR"
This hotel is right next to Times Square and is a short walk to Sogo but the MTR station is soooo far away. It took us about 10 mins and a walk through a mall and several tunnels to finally reach the MTR. It would be better to just take a cab to your destination. I liked that we were given bottled water every day but the room is really small, just enough […] for 2 adults and maybe 1 child. Overall, this is a good hotel for travellers who just need a place to sleep in. Read more
"Holiday Inn Express Causeway Bay"
Overall worked very well for us. Here's the breakdown: Pluses: Excellent location in the middle of Causeway Bay, right next to "Times Square" food and shopping and literally across the street from the subway. Outstanding free breakfast, and wonderful dessert place downstairs. The front desk was very nice and helpful. The room was clean, well stocked, […] and had a great shower. They gave us free bottles of water every day. The price was right. Minuses: the tap water was not safe for drinking. The room size was quite small. The sofa bad was just a foam couch that folds onto the floor.. adequate for our kids but would have been bad for an adult. Summary: if you need a simple, clean, not fancy and not too expensive place to stay in Hong Kong, this hotel would likely do quite nicely. Read more
"The hotel is close to all convenience"
The hotel is located right across the street of Time Square, where you can imagine how easy to access anything a tourist needs: food, shopping, transportation, money exchange, etc. People are everywhere, rushing and doing their own things; I can feel the energy of the city as soon as I get out of the hotel. The hotel is kept clean and quiet, so I can […] enjoy the stay both inside and outside of the hotel. The underground mass transit station is right across the street. This makes it so convenient for my travel plan to cover all corners of the city. Besides, the mass transit is so affordable. If I have to mention a negative of the hotel, I can only mention one thing. The bus or taxi drop-off point is on the ground floor of the hotel, but the reception desk is on the first floor. If you travel light, it is okay to do check-in and check-out conveniently. If you are like me who have traveled several cities before coming to Hong Kong and accumulated several baggage along the way, you wish there is a bell boy to help out. This is not one in this hotel. But I manage to find several small carts to help push the baggage to the elevator. So it is inconvenient for me but not a big deal. The place is clean and the housekeeping service is superb. I can totally relaxed when I come back to the hotel room after a long day of fun outside. I will come back to this hotel if I visit Hong Kong again. Read more
"Express @ Causeway Bay, Hong Kong - great location"
This hotel is centrally located on Hong Kong Island and very convenient for accessing public transportation (MTR, Taxi, Bus etc..). The room was somewhat small, but sufficient for 2 adults and 2 children (11 & 12 yr old). 2 single beds and a sofa sleeper worked quite well. We did not spend much time in the room so just for sleeping and taking showers, […] this was perfect! Causeway Bay station entrance (MTR) is across the street at the Times Square shopping mall (9 levels of shops). The breakfast coupons provided (not always included - must check with travel agent making reservation or directly with Holiday Inn Express) were excellent value. If you enjoy walking short distances, than this is the place for you, as most shopping areas are within 10 minutes walking distance in any direction. Would definitely consider this place again if we came back. Read more
"Great Hotel in Hong Kong"
The hotel is located behind Time Square. Excellent service, specially Kevin in reception. He will be a CEO one day. Breakfast is included with five different types, Western, Chinese, Vegetarian, Fruits. The cheapest transportation to and from the airport is Bus A11 for $40 HKD. The MRT station is half a block from the hotel. The restaurant in the hotel […] is famous for their beef and noodle disk. For Dim Sum go to Times Square nine floor. For roasted geese and piglet go to the restaurant across the underpass on Canal Road West, two and a half block from the hotel. There is an excellent desert place on the ground floor of the hotel. The prices are very reasonable and the desserts are very good. Try the mango and tofu fa desert. For shopping go to Monk Kok train station and for Peking Duck go to Central train station for Peking House. For electronics go to Sham Shui Po MRT station. There is a local market on Sharp Street West. Read more
"Express Holiday Inn Causeway"
Very nice location.
"Holiday Inn Express-Causeway Bay"
Our rooms were clean and comfortable. We were somewhat surprised to find that the tap water in Hong Kong was not suitable for drinking, the hotel supplied 2 complimentary bottles of water each day, although you would probably want to run to 7-11 and get yourself a couple larger bottles. The location of this this hotel was great for us - subway is nearby, […] but there's lots to see just by walking around in the vicinity of the hotel. It was exceptionally cold for Hong Kong when we were there in February and when we asked about the heat in our room we were told there isn't actually any, but were given a space heater which was adequate for taking the chill off. All in all staying at this Holiday Inn Express was a positive experience I would recommend it as a reasonably priced, clean and convenient place to stay in Hong Kong. Read more

"Good for families"
Nice, clean and quiet room with a sofabed that did not squeak. Good, high-flow shower in decently sized bathroom with no tub. Included broadband internet access and pretty good breakfast with 4 menu choices (2 Western, 2 Asian). Helpful personnel that spoke good English. Very hard to find the hotel unless you take a Taxi there, as the small and unassuming […] entrance is hidden away on a sidestreet. Convenient location in business area with good communicatons. Several restaurants in the building (incl. Pizza Hut). Read more
"Excelent localization - in front of a subway station and Mall"
You can go everywhere easily...
"Small Nice Hotel in good location for shopping"
If you like to shop, you would not regret to stay in this hotel. Reasonable price, good location..everything is just about walking distance..I was very pleased..I will be back to this hotel again for my next trip to Hongkong.

"Great hotel, good location"
Smacked right next to Times square, shopping are everywhere. There is also one dessert stall at the hotel which I supposed is very popular. There are queues all the time! Room was in good condition, not much facilities but is sufficient to my needs. Mosy imptly, there are free wifi in the room. The fridge was cold, it freeze my can of beer. Love the […] hotel location as it was near the subway station. Read more
"Great location"
The hotel is at a great location for those who want to shop. Times square is across the street and so is the MTR station. Plenty of good places nearby to eat. 15 minutes walk to Star Ferry in Wan Chai. The dessert place at the hotel entrace is a must try. The breakfast at the hotel was quite decent and filling. There is a really nice breakfast-on-the-go […] place to the right of the hotel. The bathroom sink is a little ridiculous as mentioned by others, splashes water all around, the beds are not very comfortable. I was on the 18th floor which was non-smoking, very clean overall, no issues with noise from the street or elevators. The sofa bed was decently comfortable. The TV was outdated, no reason for them not to have a flatscreen. The room size was good for a HK hotel. Overall, a very pleasant stay, will stay there again for sure. Read more

"Holiday inn Express Causewaybay"
Breakfast was all set menu If you don't eat pork there is not much for you Overall they are not flexible for late check-out for 4 extra hours they asked more than one day room rate Underground station is long walk away Polite service but you need to wait longtime to catch attention In the Cafe no waiter speak english

"City center convenience"
Right behind Times Square Mall, a very convenient location .
"The Holiday Inn Express-Causeway Bay, Hong Kong"
Overall experience was great, for the price that we paid it was worth it. Specially it has Free Wifi Internet access in the rooms and with Free Breakfast. Although breakfast menu have to be improve. Rooms are clean but it was quite small. Sofa Bed came in very handy. We requested for extra bed sheets and comforter for kids and they gladly sent it to […] our room. I requested for late check out and they allowed us to stay till 2pm. I would recommend this place specially with the location right in the center of shopping area. Read more

"Budget Hotel"
This is a budget no frills hotel. No bar to relax in. The rooms are basic, the bed is hard. Free internet is good point.
"Great location"
Stayed during golden week with my 2 children. Great location close to great restaurants, shopping in Times Square and only 5 mins by can to Central. Comfortable/ functional rooms. Only downside: poor (free) breakfast and music in the corridor at 8:00am. We bought our (cold) breakfast from City Super the night before instead.
"great location"
just one block to subway entrance and shoping area but view was not cool
"Holiday Inn Express in the heart of Causeway Bay"
Fantastic location next to Time Square. A very good value business class hotel. Clean room and efficient reception. Our request for early check in at 7am was granted albeit with a smoking room. By noon, however, they had found a non smoking room for our remaining stay. Staff understood English and are helpful in recommending and making restaurant reservation. Tip: […] check out the dessert shop on the ground floor. Read more
"express by holiday inn convenient location"
This hotel location is convenient with easy acess to both the local train stations and surrounding shoping districts however they would need to spruce up the room amenities that include better softer down pillows instead of the hard pillows and hard mattresses which through our frequent travels encounter this is the perfect conditiond for tourists from […] mainland China. Also the room where we were stayong had the lowest shower flow which is a disgrace. Read more

"Unfortunately could not recommend this hotel"
Everything was perfect except the bed. It was Rock Hard. I would imagine this to be same Bed throughout all rooms. I could not sleep for 3 nights and was awake every other hour. I had to go for massage as I awoke with back and neck pain trying to sleep. In fact I went to the nearby Excelsior hotel for my massage 2 nights in a row and Upon my return […] I am still going for massages as I think due to the hard bed I have a pinched nerve. So its impossible to recommend the hotel unless you are ok sleeping on a bed that is as hard as a rock . Otherwise your entire well being is compromised with back.shoulder neck ache and tension headache arising from it. Read more
"Express By Holiday Inn Causeway Bay - Hong Kong"
The hotel is an excellent location very close to the MTR - Causebay Station and Times Square shopping Centre. The Hotel is excellent for a short stay, we stayed for 3 nights and found the room prefectly acceptable for that sort of duration despite having two small children under 3. The baby cot (wooden) and mattress provided was of excellent quality […] and was perfect for our 8 months baby. The only real criticism was the lack of hanging space in the closet and lack of drawer space to store clothes. The complimentary breakfast in the restaurant was basic but the service and food was ok. A choice of 5 set meals with the option of extra items off the a la carte menu at a cost, although getting them to boil baby rice for us proved to be a little out of their depth. Read more
"Express @ Holiday Inn (HK) - max convenience"
If you like shopping at Causeway Bay, then this is THE hotel for you. It's right smack across Times Square and a stone's throw from Sogo. However the MTR station is a tad far away. Overall a highly pleasant stay. Hotel staff are very friendly and helpful. Rooms are decent with a nice shower!

"a small hotel with 5star service"
One of the few best priced best service hotels in hongkong causeway bay. Near the shopping area. Times square and sogo dept store a 5min walk to the subway. Just tell them to make the aircon a little bit colder.
