Holiday Inn Express in Hixon is an adequate motel. In our case, the location trumped other considerations. The staff was friendly and the facilities were clean. The motel is older, and not maintained quite as well as it should be. The overall stay was great. The hotel was in a great area; it was close to several good eating places. The room was clean and the staff was extremely nice. My only problem was their sign was not large enough to see from the street. We passed it and had to turn around. I will definitely stay there next time we are in Chattanooga!

The breakfast was great - they had biscuits and gravy, pancakes, fruit, yogurt, bagels, sausage, etc. The biggest complaint I have was that the pool area and hot tub were murky and dirty looking. Also, using your site, this hotel ended up being off of our path and we ended up about 10 miles from the highway - even though I had searched for a hotel near […] Chattanooga. Had a great time in chattanooga, TN. We stayed here at the hotel. Every thing was clean and check in was fast and great! The breakfast was your typical bagel, muffins, water, juice, coffee, fruit, eggs, sausage, gravy, toast, biscuits etc.........it was good. To the negative part. I paid advance for the room, but after arriving I was told a $200 hold […] would have to be placed on my card until I check out and it would take up to 72hrs before the hold would be released. No one was rude, but no one was overly nice. Our room was the closest room to the indoor pool, also next door to the housekeeping supply room. It seemed that no one had any consideration for sleeping/resting guests and were slamming doors all morning beginning bright and early. I asked for a late checkout, but apparently, I'm not a member of a prestigious […] "club" that is allowed late checkouts. Finally, the housekeeper barged in our room at 10:15 while we were getting ready to leave. Overall, I'm a little disappointed that I paid what I paid and got what I got. Most rooms had a DVD player. Ours did not. When we asked if we could have one, we were told it wasn't possible. Didn't quite understand why. Hotel was very clean. Staff friendly. There was ALOT of very early morning noise in the hall outside our room. We did find that irritating. Other than that, it was a nice hotel. We would stay there again.

Generally the staff were helpful but the front desk staff look like they needed a little help with professional dress and hygeine. Just kind'a looked unkept. Trash and cigaerett butts were left in the planters at the front entrance. The whole place reeks of chlorine smell from the pool and hot tub. Badly stained carpets on the 3rd floor hallway. I […] needed access to wi-fy but the in room signal was often too low to use it. I called the provider number in the room myself and got help. It slightly improved after that. This hotel provided a clean, comfortable place to stay at a reasonable rate. Yes, it is near a gun shop and a liquor store. Big deal. It's also close to several other stores and restaurants and is located in an older commercial area, not a residential neighborhood. It is neither a new hotel nor a major resort, but it provided a nice place for our family […] to stay on our way to Florida. I never felt unsafe staying here. Beds were hard, Food was marginal, Elevator had a terrible bleach smell each time we got into it. So bad was the smell that we were afraid to touch anything for fear of bleaching our clothes.

Sadly this property is not being maintained. It needs renovation. Have used this location for over 4 years (1-2/yr). This year the TV was snowy, the carpet was stained in room and hall, the pool chemical smell (from 1st floor) pervades up to 3rd, One of three exercise machines was broken, the exercise room very very hot. My family and I stayed for a couple days to see the sights in Chatanooga. It wasn't in a great neighborhood, It was between a liquor store and a gun store. Other than that, the room was clean. They have a clean indoor pool with hot tub that flowed into it, so the water was real warm. The desk clerk was real friendly. They bake cookies and have them […] in the lobby from check in time to 11 PM. Everytime we went to get some they were out because some kids kept getting them all. I called the front desk at 1045 and ask if they would be making any more and she made us some especially for us. I have stayed here a few times this fall for work. This last visit I was very dissapointed in some of the staff. I woke up at 4am to get in some studying for a registry exam I had to take in a couple days. I came down to the empty breakfast room so I would not disturb the person I was staying with. I was the only one in the room for over an hour. When […] I first came in the room the TV was on but the volume was low so I was able to study. Two different staff members came into the room and changed the station and turned the volume way up without even asking me if I was watching it. It was really rude. The young man who checked us in was very helpfull, we had documents that needed printed for the next morning and he was very generous and offered us lots of paper so we could print for free in the business center. The room was very clean and the staff we ran into in the halls was very nice.
