We chose this hotel while traveling to Western PA to visit Fallingwater. We typically know what to expect when choosing HI Express, but this property was disappointing. The property seemed fairly recently renovated, but still tired. The bed left us with backaches, the pillows were flat (including the "firm"), and the TV stand must have been broken as it was propped up on each side with green styrofoam blocks. The hotel and room was clean and the staff pleasant...the breakfast was what you would expect for a free breakfast. And although the hotel has an elevator, a sign posted by the elevator door advises not to use it in inclement weather as there is no generator and in the event of a power failure, you may get stuck! If we're ever in the area again, we'll look for someplace else to stay.
"Another Great Stay"

I recently traveled to Pennsylvania for an event at the Ruffsdale Gun Club. The group blocked off 30 rooms for folks traveling and I made reservations late 2013. I arrived about 3PM and gave the attendant my name and I asked if my room was on the 1st floor? He commented that in fact it was on the third floor and I asked if that could be changed. He promptly placed me on the 1st floor in room 120 and that was conveniently located to the lobby, breakfast area and the back door entrance. We got checked in and the room was in good order and absolutely not one thing to mention negative. This motel is conveniently located to Highway 119 and close to eating establishments and the Wal-Mart is about 1/2 mile away. Our friends arrived and they were located on the third floor. The motel smelled clean and did not smell a whiff of smoke in the building. The breakfast bar offered great cinnamon rolls, automatic pancake maker, biscuits and gravy, eggs, bacon and sausage and the coffee was great. The attendants were attentive and very friendly and that is a plus. I rested well and the overall experience was a good one this time around. I won't be back to this motel until 2019 and hopefully the service will be just a good.

Booked a floor of rooms a year ahead for wedding event, When closer to wedding, called to confirm and was told, "Sorry, went to new computer system, I do remember you, but nothing we can do, we have another convention at that time, and can only give you about 1/2 of the rooms you need." No other hotels were near the reception venue. Talked several times to girl that was supposed to save the rooms and the manager, who did nothing to help us. Now, all guests invited to wedding are driving 30 minutes from reception to hotel. I will never stay at a holiday Inn express if this how they treat people. Two people should be FIRED!

Stayed 2 nights while in the area to tour Fallingwater and Kentuck Knob. Friendly staff, large room, clean. Pretty much what you would expect from a Holiday Inn Express. Nothing exceptional, but nothing to complain about.

I have been staying here for over several years for business. It is clean, comfortable and near restaurants some basic shopping for the area. The staff is friendly and treat you well. The place is consistent and kept up reasonably well.

We stayed 2 nights so that we could ride the Great Allegheny Passage Bike Trail. Connellsville is about 7 miles away and the trailhead was easy to get to. The Holiday Inn Express staff welcomed us with friendly smiles. Our room was clean and comfortable. The hot breakfast was satisfying and the staff was helpful. If we are back in this area we would certainly stay again.

First class staff at this Holiday Inn Express.Becky & Stacy immediately assisted with technical issues and upgraded my room. Casey runs a top notch Breakfast! The site is getting a renovation and hopefully they will get a pool, jacuzzi and free weights so the amenities come up to par with the great staff. The pool is not terrible. Just non-existent. Many thanks girls.
"Great Hotel! Convenient location!"

This hotel is extremely close to Hotshots Indoor Sports Arena, where my son participated in a hockey tournament. The hotel was safe and clean. The staff members were exceptional. Our room was very nice and comfortable. It is within minutes of shopping, restaurants, and gas. The breakfast area was maintained by two women who were very much on the ball. They had the largest selection of hot food items that I have seen at a HIE. Everything was fresh and quickly replenished. The bread items were individually wrapped which kept them fresh and untouched by other guests. I'm not sure I've seen other HIE's do this for their guests, but I certainly appreciated it. I will definitely stay at this hotel again! It is well run and you can tell that the people who work there actually care about their workplace and its customers.
"pretty much what I expected"

....and that is a huge compliment. I stayed here as part of a roller hockey tournament (rink was right does the street from hotel). As I formerly lived in Pittsburgh, I remember how friendly the people were, and t is hotel staff clearly represented that fact. The staff was wonderful from check in. I didn't get names, but everyone was so friendly and helpful, including the housekeeping staff (In particular, Linda, whom I found out was a new employee, and went out of her way to see that we had exactly what we need in our third floor room. She stood out, and I want to give a shout out to her....). The front desk staff were very helpful in locating a nearby Laundromat for me, from taking me outside and pointing out directions to me, to actually printing out the directions. If you stay here for a hockey tournament, be advised there are no public laundry facilities at this hotel, but the Laundromat is exactly 2 miles up the road. (I like to wash my sons hockey clothes after games). Everyone was extremely friendly at the hotel-and even at the Laundromat. Hotel was very clean, and rooms were very comfortable and quiet, although the hotel was full. Lobby was cozy and breakfast area was clean and well stocked. Really liked the "pancake machine..." The nearby area is laid out in typical Pittsburgh fashion..... hilly, multi-level shopping/restaurant area directly behind the hotel - which was very convenient to have nearby, within a short drive, or even walking distance. Hotel does not have a pool or a restaurant, other than the yummy breakfast. I would definitely stay there again.
"Very good value"

Although the location is awkward (road construction and strange access road) we found a very helpful staff, a surprisingly good breakfast, and very clean room. We will not hesitate to stay here again.
