Howard Johnson Ponderay Idaho - Sandpoint

Breakfast offerings were limited and disappointing.

I was very pleased. The hotel was easy to find, several restaurants in the area, as well as shopping.

The hotel was clean and our room was clean and neat as well. There was even a window seat. It was a very quiet location and for the price, what I expected. My only two complaints is that the shampoo given to us in our room was only 1/4 the way full (used?) and one of our towels wasn't very clean. The other complaint is that the entire staff (of 4) took […] break at the same time. When I went to check out, there was no one available. I chose NOT to wait and left my keys on the counter with a note that I was "Checking Out". I don't think that is the best use of staffing. Felt I got the best rate for the hotels in the area. Was less crowded than the hotel across the street. Typical continental breakfast. Nice lobby to hand out and visit with friends. hot tubs small but private. going to stay here again!

I chose this hotel because the price was right and also because of the 2 hot tubs. However, one hot tub was completly shut down & the other was too hot & we couldn't use the jets. Very disappointed as we were really looking forward to them. They should not advertise the hot tubs if they are not usable.

Many hotels, as did this one, forget to clean the a/c filters on a regular basis. Mine was plugged with lint and skin particles. Gross! The only solution is either you or call housekeeping to clean the removable filter under the tap immediately. HoJo in Sandpoint clean and cheap. Small room bed a bit hard but cheap with a standard hotel breakfast of cereal, waffles, muffins,etc. Would stay here again.

I beleive this hotel used to be a motel 6 and that is most apparent in the tininess of the rooms. They are clean and functional and great if all you want is a place to sleep and shower. That is what I wanted so it worked very well for me. The cost was unbeatable and although you are not downtown Sandpoint or even walking distance you can drive there in less than 5 minutes. We got a great deal on the price. The HoJo is a standard hotel; nothing special. Clean, rather small rooms. Very friendly staff.

Hotel is clean, day and evening staff helpful and courteous. Bedding is less than desirable, but bed was ok otherwise. If they put a decent mattress pad and bedspread it would do a lot to make it better. Maid service was not great. Convenient, comfortable for a few days, room small so would not be great for a long stay for more than one.

A really nice room for the price. I believe it was a good value for the area. I will stay there again if I am in the area. It was a very clean and comfortable. I would Highly recommend it.

room was very clean and comfortable. A little small but we were there just to sleep. Continental breakfast area was a little small. As tho it was an after construction thought. Rates were very reasonable. We will stay again.

Everything about my stay and my room was very good. The only thing I was not satisfied with was the area they had set up for breakfast, it was way to small, and over crowded.

Room is adequate, but not especially top of the line in this price range. Two jacuzzi's, one broken. Too busy to see staff, but room not cleaned well for second night. In fact, room not cleaned well.

It was ok, but it was the smallest room I have ever seen! It had a double bed which my husband's feet hung over the end. Bathroom floor had hair left on it after cleaning.

This hotel looks very nice on the outside but as soon as you open your door to your room it just gets worse and worse. Spring sagging mattress, puny little pillows, no bedside lamps, cable tv is just info commercials, small rooms and bathrooms. Don't stay here....

Advertised fre stock of those forgotten items. Only razors available. No tooth paste.

Overall, this hotel worked out great for us! The only thing that would've been better is if we would've gotten a nonsmoking room. Smoking rooms stink! The hotel staff were very nice & the breakfast was great!

This is the 2nd time that we have stayed here. The room was clean. The furniture in the room was a bit crowded so the olnly place to really sit was on the bed. It was a good room for the price and we will likely stay here again when we come back to Sandpoint as long as the rates stay the same. The lobby was comfortable.

This was an ok hotel. Nothing special. The breakfast was alright if you like cereal and donuts. The hot tub was under construction. The only up side was the Satellite TV. Price was cheap and we were only looking for a quick stop over so it did the job.

We found our stay at the howard johnson was very satisfactory.

This hotel would be exactly what I would expect if I were checking into any hotel. The room was nice and clean, the service was great, and I thoroughly enjoyed my stay.

We only stayed one night as we were passing through, however it was pleasant. The lobby was quite comfortable with a nice sitting area, and the staff were friendly and helpful. we had a very pleasant stay at Ponderay. The only thing missing was a restuarant close by. The rooms were very nice & the staff were very pleasant & helpful. We will return.
