Hotel needs maintenance. Springs are protruding from box springs, sheets are thin enough to see TV through them, mold in bathroom, carpets need to be cleaned. Price is great and location is good.

I felt like I was in middle of cracktown usa my children n I witnessed drug deals n tell me y a couple would only need to rent a room for 3hours? I prepaid for 1 room and then needed to reserve an additional room(which I ended up paying more for 1 bed) and when checking out I had to request my key deposit which I had to pay on 1 room but not another […] how does that work? Just a cheap hotel. You want no comfort but a cheap room here's the place for you. Hallway smelt terrible, the beds are rocks with springs in them, and the pillows had stains all over them. The employees there made it very clear they hated their job.

Overall, it was what one expects from the lowest bidder. However, since we were only in the room to sleep and shower, it was not good that the beds had us waking up with sore backs every day. The staff was great with help locating various sites and restaurants for us. Pretty run-down looking inside and out, and the fact that they had to post signs on every entryway reminding you that you may not carry firearms into the building does not do much to make one feel safe and secure. The toilet was fitted with a strip of paper claiming that it had been "sanitized for your protection" which was definitely not the case; […] I'm not sure what was on the seat, but I'm glad that I had some antibacterial soap to scrub it with before using. The only good thing was that the sheets themselves were clean, and there weren't any bed bugs (at least in our room). In summary, if you're going to Madison, spoil yourself a little and stay somewhere decent, if that's not an option, I would seriously consider just sleeping in the car... Read more

This hotel was OK for the price -- bring your own extension cord -- only 3 outlets in my room and all in inconvienient locations. The fridge and microwave in room were good -- but fridge ran cold and froze couple things on me -- and no dial to turn fridge down. Overall, I would stay a night again -- but most likely not 3 like I did.

The bathroom needed work, old caulking was yellow and rust stains. Everything was going okay until I got into bed, I could SEE the bedsprings, this is really unacceptable. Terrible experience. Reserved a room thru Expedia with 2 queen beds and had 2 double beds. Desk person insisted they were queens and to take it up with Expedia. Walls and carpet were stained and mold growing on wall and baseboard in bathroom. Dane County Sheriff was in managers office upon our arrival and appeared to be there for the night security! […] NOT a place for families to stay with children. Sure, there's no pampering. But it's warm, dry and safe for a great price. I had to walk under the highway everyday on my trip and I never felt unsafe. The continental breakfast is what you would expect at these low prices.

We will not bother to try this place ever again. We were here before & the attending staff was young & seemed inexperienced so we thought we give it another chance. When we checked in we asked for an adjustment on our bill with our AAA membership / ARRP card & we were told that it couldn't be done. We have stay at other hotels & when we asked at check-in […] it was done with no problem. The room had only 2 towels ,one of which had a 2" worn hole in it. The pillow were the size of a handkerchief & about as thick. We were awakened by the plumbing swishing & the small refridgerator humming & crackleing almost every hour throughout the night. The first thing I saw was the sign on the front door instructing you to remove your hat, hoodie or sunglasses before entering. In addition, several men were in the parking lot just milling around. Did not feel safe. If I had other options, I would have left.

Room was exceptional. The stair tread was a bit worn and you could tell it was previously a smoking hotel with the odor in the hall. But the room was clean, extrememly large and there was no hint of smoking order. I was impressed.

Most people say you get what you pay for... Well you do, but having living in madison my whole life, i was pleased. The place has a lot of people who live there but not dirty! Being on a budget i was nervous because of the price (it was very reasonable) but was happy with the place!
