We had a very comfortable stay at the Grand Hotel Wagner. The room and hotel was kept very clean. The Baroque decor was very pretty and had a lot of old world charm. Our room was very comfortable. Location was great. It is one block from central train station and subway. Room was very clean and had everything we needed. Breakfast was the standard European spread. Would definitely stay here again.

This hotel is an okay hotel, well located in central Palermo. 5stars it is NOT. The gilt is on everything, I kind of liked that. Room was small and dark. You could open three screens and curtains and doors to get more light, but then the street noise was horrendous. The bathroom was a teeny swamp like space, but did have room on the floor for the soap. […] Bring your own shampoo, I am not sure what was in the bottle of theirs, it looked like mouthwash. Speaking of mouthwash, do not drink their coffee, we went out the second day, foregoing the free breakfast. They have a fitness center, down an unlit corridor that was NEVER open during our 2day stay. To add insult to injury, the elevators have a video that shows photos of what we were missing, like bathrobes. Front desk staff was very reluctantly helpful. This hotel is one of the finest in Palermo. Nice breakfast, good rooms, although the bath tubs are tough to negotiate if you are 65+. Most speak English well. One guide book said the rooms were "sound proof", but we could hear noise from the busy streets every night. Despite this, we would book there again.

We booked the hotel for two nights with the expectation of being a five star with grandure as seen ion the website pictures,but were a little disappointed of finding it more of an old 4 star rating with limited facilities and service .No wonder the price charged was too good to be true of a 5 star quality. Very old fashioned. Really just a place to sleep as there is really no lobby and the bar is both poorly located and dead. The furniture in the room is old-fashioned and uncomfortable, but the hotel is clean, convenient & quiet. This is welcome in a city that can be chaotic.

We had a lovely stay at the Grand Wagner. All the staff were very helpful, and David made us fantastic coffee every morning.The location of the hotel was very good, and we enjoyed our entire trip in Palermo. Lack of wi fi was our only negative comment. If you have a laptop it's o.k. But my i pad did not hook up.

The hotel is very central and we caught the shuttle bus from the airport to the Theatre Square which cost 6.20€ and was within 4 mins walk from the hotel. The hotel is more a 4 star but very nice and the staff were great. We were in a group of 8 with all our rooms on the ground floor at the front and at times the noise outside was quite loud. Added […] to this, as it was street level, we tended to keep the shutters closed which made the room seem dark. Our room as on the corner so was used as the meeting room for the group as their rooms were minimal to say the least - no room to swing the cat!!! ( talking of which, the cat fights early morning on the street were not that welcome - had we got hold of the cats I am sure we would have found room to swing them....). Beds were large and comfy, bathroom very clean & great shower. All the facilites were without trouble. Breakfast was included in our deal and had a good selection. For the tea drinkers, it was hard to get hot water as it was either empty or Luke warm in the jugs provided and with no tea / coffee maker in the room was a must have at breakfast. We did not use the bar, although it looked nice, prices were a little on the high side and with many bars within walking distance we decided not to bother with it. We enjoyed our stay at the hotel. It's fabulously restored, quite grand, with perfect rooms and a good breakfast buffet. The hotel also provides wifi but only in the public areas, should consider extending this to all rooms.

Excellent location for all the central sites. Hotel room was huge as was the bathroom. Breakfast was standard continental food - ask the waiter for an espresso/cappucino from the kitchen rather than opting for the jugs of coffee at the breakfast bar.

Nice stay at this 4 star (actually) hotel in Palermo. Friendly staff, even if they were working on such important holiday. Very comfortable room, big and clean. Very good power shower. Bath amenities simple but efficient. We needed a conditioner for washing the hair of my girlfriend and they quickly provided one at no charge. We booked the hotel as part of our silver wedding anniversary. Most members of staff were friendly and polite. The room was excellent although do expect to wake to the morning chorus of Sicilian drivers hooting their horns. The mini bar prices were expensive but the staff seemed to appreciate this fact and offered to bring full bottles of champagne […] which worked out to be better value for money. The location is perfect for getting to the centre of Palermo and the theatres. We did not eat in the hotel other than at breakfast which was good for a continental style buffet. I lost my passport whilst in Palermo and the staff at The Grand Hotel Wagner could not have been more helpful in getting a police report done and calling places where I could have possibly left it. Worth asking the hotel to park the car for you - not much more than paying for local car parks. Overall good value for money with a little bit of luxury thrown in. Read more

We loved this hotel. Terrific service. Beautiful, quiet, clean room. GREAT breakfast. FAntastic large marble bathroom with really good shower. We would come back in a nano second. Best hotel we stayed in in Italy. Also in a perfect part of Palermo. Very safe and quiet hotel and could walk everywhere, old and new city.

...ritengo sia uno dei migliori hotel presenti a Palermo, ma come in ogni grande azienda esistono purtroppo delle lacune, in questo mio ultimo soggiorno ho trovato la pulizia della camera non molto soddisfacente, cosa che avevo sospettato già nel penultimo soggiorno, ovviamente questo potrebbe essere dettato dalla notevole mola di lavoro, ma non ritengo […] possa essere una giustificazione. Tolto questo la struttura é eccezionale, da ogni punto di vista, compresa la posizione. Ahimè le imposte, che probabilmente nel rispetto architettonico sono state solo ristrutturate, non sono meritevoli di lode, in quanto prive di ogni insonorizzazione e abbattimento termico! Ma per il resto le camere e gli ambienti tutti sono gradevolissimi..... Per ultimo e non ultimo la cortesia e la professionalità del personale tutto è degna dell'eleganza dell'hotel......è credetemi che a Palermo non è un criterio facilmente riscontrabile....
