Park Silver Obelisco Hotel - Buenos Aires

I was three days ahead of my cruise, time enough to search out the town. In the shadow of the obelisk is how close the hotel is. Things are starred on the European standard. So their four star in the U.S. would only get a three. Which is to say no huge entry way, no pool, gym or anything that I would use anyway. The room itself is a bit European small […] but very nice and comfortable. High level of most everything in the room. The girl at the desk during the day speaks very good English. Two nons are no free breakfast and no free wi-fi (a charge for it) Getting to the hotel is easy enough; $11 will get you a bus to the doorstep of the hotel but be aware the bus trip even on Sunday took over two hours to travel less than four miles. Traffic was near gridlock downtown. Get an interior room if you want silence, being on the main drag I can imagine a street window would be noisy. If your going on a cruise the short cab ride will be $5. Because of Hoetel.com, the room was a great price. I found most everything else in town comparable in price to home. Staff at the hotel were courteous and helpful in answering questions about walking directions and public transportation. Casa Rosado, Teatro Colon and Cafe Tortoni, supermarkets, cafes, restaurants are walking distance from the hotel. Convenient location. Clean rooms. Breakfast food selection is excellent. Internet service is excellent.

One of THE best hotels I've ever stayed in. The location is perfect. You are right on the main street. Our room had an amazing view of the Obelisco (ask for a room with a street view). The hotel was extremely clean and everyone on staff was extremely friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend this hotel.

I really enjoyed this hotel. I had a deluxe room with a view of the Obelisco, which was great. Although a bit noisy with windows open, when closed, you would not hear anything. But then, this is a 15 million-people city, and I was right downtown. This is also the widest avenue in the world with 16 lanes total! So, that is then par for the course. Great hotel, easy access to subway and main streets, friendly staff right from the beginning, always courteous and ready to help. This is a fairly nice Hotel. There is a Starbucks downstairs, shopping within walking distance and convenience stores nearby. I stayed at the Cesar Park Silver in April 2011. The room I had was very quaint and cozy. Reminded me of a boutique hotel in Paris. The window opened to great view of the Obelisc in the main avenue. The staff was very freindly and helpful. The bathroom was also very large and nicely decorated. The bed wa soft and warm.

Original roon did not have a view of city. Paid for upgrade to room with small balcony overlooking the 9th of July blvd which we enjoyed. Staff plesant and helpfull. Restaurant not open for dinner until late, but excellent one around the corner -Arturito's. location very good, i.e. close to the shopping street-Forida.

We booked three nights starting Sept. 9. The hotel is conveniently centrally located. The staff were courteous. However, we were quite uncomfortable to find that on the other side of our big room window was a big storage area of the hotel. The door to that storage area was not secured at the time we checked it. Without any bars on that window we feel […] a sense of insecurity. There was no inside door chain. The bedroom and bathroom are small with a total of about 160 square feet. There is only a small shower stall with a small soap dish holder. Outstanding!!!! Excellent service, right in the heart of town -- we had a great view of the Obelisco out of our window. The two bed room was larger than we expected, and the breakfast was superb. The front desk staff were fantastic with recommendations -- they seemed to "read" what we would like exactly right...The beds were super comfy too...

This hotel is placed right next to the obelisco and conveniently close to the subway so you have access to more vibrant parts of the city. Recoleta district is within walking distance (15blocs) where you among others can see the burrial place ov Evita and nice museums and parks. If you are looking to have a party weekend you might be better of staying […] in Palermo, but we had no problem with the location and had late nights out all over town and didnt broke ourselfes taking a taxi to get back. This will be a bit pricey for backpackers but for people looking to spend the long weekend its perfect. The staff if very serviceminded and helpfull with requests and had no problem offering us a late check out with no additional cost. The staff spoke Ok english (some very good) but this is Buenos Aires and you should practice your spanish as most people dont speak that much english. Read more
