The hotel was adequate and the location convenient for the event I attended. The price was reasonable. I appreciated the free continental breakfast. The breakfast room--an interior room without windows--is small and was crowded both days I was there. Alternate seating is in the more pleasant lobby with windows! Also at this Best Western, unlike at other BWs where I've stayed, the towels noticeably scratchy, not soft, are either old or require different laundering.

This might be the nicest hotel based right on the ocean at Ocean Beach. The staff was very helpful, the room immaculate, and the location second to none. I've stayed at a number of hotels in the area, but I won't stay anywhere but here in the future. You can't go wrong with an ocean front suite!

We needed a last min getaway for a few days to unwind and enjoy a romantic getaway. The hotel staff was awesome very friendly made us common folk feel like celebrities. Great service location and atmosphere . If your dog people you will love this hotel very pet friendly. We will be staying here again and bring our dog as well . The ac in the room was a lil uncopertive however the weather was perfect so not much use was needed. Room service food was great small portions but very tasty. Location is great have drinks on the. 9 h floor lounge and what the game from a spectacular view.
Location.

Members of old Hollywood once jockeyed for seclusion in Del Mar. Now, real jockeys are the main attraction at this former Tinseltown getaway. Every summer, the Del Mar Racetrack comes to life with horse races. The racing season begins with the end of the San Diego County Fair in July. Del Mar is part of the North Country, the suburban area considered to be the outer edge of metropolitan San Diego.

"A true first class hotel"
We spent 2 days at The Grand Del Mar while in San Diego for my son's sporting event. We were there from a Saturday through Monday. It felt like we had the hotel to ourselves - maybe it was just a quiet week. The hotel and its grounds are beautiful. Maintenance is obviously a high priority. There are multiple swimming pools, a kid's activity room with […] all kinds of cool toys, and the most complete gym I have ever seen in a hotel. The golf course looked immaculate - although I did not get a chance to play. To top it off, the hotel staff was absolutely top notch. My 11 year old son was treated as if he was an Olympic Gold Medalist. The concierge and front desk staff went far beyond what they are paid to do - they even sent a complimentary tray of giant cookies and a champagne bucket containing a bottle of milk to our room after he returned from competition. This hotel is so service oriented that you could want for nothing. Valet, front desk, F&B, managers. We were so well taken care of during our stay; we felt like special guests but that is just how everyone at The Grand treats all guests! The serenity at the hotel allows you to just relax and let someone else take care of everything. Just amazing.

This hotel is an absolute beauty! The ambiance, the staff, the service, the location....everything was luxurious. The rooms are beautifully appointed with comfortable beds and soaking tubs. The workout facility is also quite amazing. You could even enjoy a hike around the surrounding areas.

Yes, it is a resort. With all the bells and whistles as resort can offer . . .and yet, the Grand Del Mar has the feel of an intimiate villa located in the rolling hills of Tuscany. Our room overlooked a manicured garden. The service was outstanding. A must stay . . . even if for a weekend. We are planning a week stay in the winter.

This breathtaking resort felt like we had escaped to some exotic location in the Mediterranean. The staff was helpful and genuine and the hotel was surprisingly kid friendly. Grand is an understatement for this resort. Everything about it is top notch. The staff has been very well trained from the first greeting to the last farewell, that is, if you ever leave. "Beyond my expectation"
The property is grand and wonderful. You sense the air of elegance right as you go thru the driveway gate. Great service. Staff well-trained and respectful. Updated, clean, and very comfortable room. Free valet parking and the valet even offered ice cold bottled water on a warm day. Most impressive.
"Simply Perfect"
The Grand Del Mar is just that...Grand!! From the minute I walked in to the time I left, I have never experienced a more gracious, kind and helpful staff...and I have travelled extensively. If you book a King room, ask for #258 because the fairway view is stunning. It's quite a walk, but worth every step!!
