"Nice Get Away"
The Resort at Mt Charleston is a nice place for a weekend get away. Although the hotel is not a fancy place, the room was cozy. The place was sold out because of a wedding party. My boyfriend and I checked in late and ended up on the first floor of the three level resort. I am not sure about the second or third floors, but the first floor has very low […] ceilings through out the hallways. My boyfriend is 6'8" and had to duck to avoid from hitting his head on the fire sprinklers. The bar was small and didn't have a large selection of alcohol due to some inventory issues. We had breakfast in the restaurant and the food was decent. Aside from that, we had a lovely time and would go back again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Very Bad Experience."
My first encounter with the hotel staff was a clear unwillingness to meet reasonable customer needs. Employees at front desk and wedding planner emulate the attitude of GM as well as the front desk manager. Hotel has structural problems and system management problems due to lack of follow-up, no inspections just waiting for guests to complain then problems […] band-aid not corrected. GM adopts "jack of all trades" unfortunately master of none..this may pose a serious problem in safety. GM unprofessional in attire, sweat shirt, no name tag..cannot differentiate GM from a maintenance person. Excuses given rather than effort to find problem and fix problem. If there are more than one legitimate problems reported GM, front desk and wedding planner seemed to villlainize that guest. Specific experience problems were..grocery bag of old fruit left in drawer in room when I checked in..Front desk manager said that's not a real problem..No iron or ironing board in room and Front desk gave excuse we don't have the inventory to provide each room with an iron and ironing board. Another experience problem was a leak directly over the commode that drips on guest and manager said just lay bath towel under area that should suffice. Internet cuts on and off or not on at all..GM said can't do anything about it because of the mountains instead of saying "that's unacceptable I will get to the bottom of it." If the problems are worked out managerially and structurally the resort would be a great place Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Perfect for some R&R"
This is perfect for those minds who need to wind down from the schedule of life and enjoy this amazing location. You don't go for the hotel rooms (although they are kept up well) as it is older but the essence is what makes it worth the trip; also, best chicken parm in the hotel restaurant.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"great RELAXING resort"
It is perfect for a weekend getaway or for anyone trying too just relax with there loved one. We both enjoyed our stay very much so.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Be aware of the resort fee"
Hotel is nice and in the middle of nowhere, very hard to find and be prepared for the resort fee (there is nothing that looks like a resort there). Dining is quite expensive and there is no option around unless you want to drive to Vegas. Great for hiking on the multiple trails of Mt Charleston.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good for the price"
A good place to stay. Hopefully, they will upgrade their wi-fi as my connection was atrocious.Genuine Expedia guest review
Very lovely location, and very peaceful. The only problem we had was a lack of fruit and vegetables on the restaurant menu. Eating in the hotel is the only option, as the ski resort is closed in the off season, unless you drive to Vegas . We would visit again, but will plan ahead by bringing supplies with us.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Loved the one day get away. The apartments (building) next to hotel People from a Unit were throwing shelf's and boxes off the balcony and there was a lot of trash going down that hill at the rear end of the building. That was the worse part, Seeing this happen in front of me. also, The restaurant and gift shop did not have any change so I had to leave […] my cash with them till I checked out and then they ran around some more to get me change at that time. over all I would stay again but, Not at the price I paid that night. "Great weekend, the rooms were very nice."
The food was great the only thing I noticed is that the carpet in the dinning room needs to be replaced. The staff was great, good experince.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Very scenic and relaxing."
We arrived late at about 8:00 PM but that was okay then we checked in and went to dinner, the restaurant had wonderful scenery very close to wildlife, we saw a live Fox and took a picture, we dined at the restaurant and enjoyed the scenery, afterwards we strolled outside and enjoyed the wonderful stars atmosphere.Genuine Expedia guest review
We enjoyed our mini getaway very much. Close to Vegas and easy to get to but once you're there you feel really away from it all. It was nice and quiet, very relaxing and just what we needed to recharge. Dining room was wonderful, friendly staff and excellent food. We had dinner and breakfast there..both were excellent. Setting is really nice. Rustic […] feel, lots of interesting antique artifacts. Staff was really helpful. Rooms have very comfie beds, DVD and CD players. We'll go again soon. "NO HOT TUB TIME MACHINE"
This is NOT a "RESORT" and I'm limited to 1500 characters so here goes: (1) NO HOT TUB, POOL or SPA, even though it say "SPA" on the sign. Truth is, they have a sauna. (2) VERY OUTDATED. Filthy old carpet and seating throughout the entire place. So outdated that selections for in-room movie RENTALS included: Deliverance, Porky's 2, Mrs. Doubtfie, Top […] Gun, Out Of Africa. Video Game in the lobby is Pac-Man.(3) FOOD SUCKS and is WAAAY overpriced for the quality. Our Sunday brunch, that we had to eat in the bar because the main dining area was closed, showed up COLD and was served on paper plates. We later realized they just matched the prices (but NOT the quality or service) of the REAL restaurant with GREAT FOOD just a few miles up the mountain where we ate & drank for the remainder of out stay. AND contrary to what we were told by our hotel staff this other restaurant IS open every day 'till late evening. (4) No amenities like elevators in this 3 floor motel, all stairs. no guest laundry, no room refrigerators or coffee makers, no free Wi-Fi, no room service. GOOD: we both found the bed was super-comfy with huge pillows. OVERALL: Even though the price was a bargain, it's not worth the 40 minute drive up the mountain to have less amenities than what's offered at every Las Vegas motel. Having to drive elsewhere for decent dining is the deal breaker for any possible return. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"This is Not a Resort & Spa, it is an average hotel"
No spa, no pool, no salon, no relaxing couples massage. This is why I booked a night away from Vegas, for the Resort/Spa. There are no amenities. Also no place to purchase sundries. Disappointing..... As a hotel, it's fine, clean, quiet, comfortable (we slept for 12 hours). But if it's hot out, and it is, the only thing to do inside the hotel, is throw […] back some $6 pints. They advertise free wifi, but it's hit and miss outside of the lobby. Staff was very friendly, everyone we passed smiles, nodded or said hello. The bedding is all white, which was nice, at least you know everything is clean. No coffee machine, or conditioner in the rooms, and the complimentary soap was the worst smelling I've used ever used. The dinning room has patches of paint that look terrible, the nice wood ceiling has paint all around the edges, it looks like it use to be a nice room, and they just let it go to pot. Too bad, loads of potential for this place. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Hotel needs some TLC"
First of all, on the positive side, the dining experience was superb. The dinner that the chef prepared was amazing. We had filet mignon, which was cooked perfectly, and bread pudding, which was to die for. In addition, the atmosphere in the dining room was very nice. As far as the negatives, the cleanliness of our room left much to be desired. There […] were 2 ritz crackers left behind the nightstand and the bathroom wasn't very clean. In addition, the interior of the hotel wasn't maintained very well. The walls throughout the hotel were painted sloppily and, in many instances, not finished. This hotel could be very charming, but it needs some t.l.c.. Nevertheless, I still really enjoyed my stay. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Great getaway from Vegas"
Awesome place not to far from vegas Food a bit pricey But overall great experienceGenuine Expedia guest review
"Great location but tired inside."
It has a lovely location, a gorgeous exterior, and the interior lodge-like appearance is appealing (and the price was incredibly cheap for April), but the rooms are pretty tired. The furniture is dated and dinged up, the bathtub tile/grout needs to be either bleached or replaced (the grout was dark and alarmingly old-looking), the artwork was cheesy, […] and there was no in-room coffee or tea maker. I wanted to eat dinner in the bar, but almost every bar seat had a video poker machine built-in (this IS Nevada, but come on...). The dining room was fine - I had a good chili, an oversalted/overcooked salmon filet, and a nice local beer. Lots of potential here - I think the rooms just need to be refurbished and the bar made more inviting. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Just outside of Las Vegas"
The hotel needs a serious update! Food was just OK . Waitress staff was friendly but the restaurant was in desparate need of new chairs, carpet, etc. If I had not already booked this hotel online I would probably not stay there.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"the restaurant at Mt. Charleston " Resort" ."
This was my worst experience. The waitress charged me for an "imaginary guest" and our new "guest" had had a big feast and ordered very expensive things. After we got everything sorted out we had already wasted our morning .The waitress messed up half of our orders. Plus she forgot most of the things we ordered. I ordered white bread and brought me […] cold wheat bread with oily butter dripping down with grease. We had to wait for more than one hours and a half, and that was just the beginning. The eggs were almost raw and had a greasy white line of liquid streaming down, the steak we ordered medium rare was so well done you wouldn't be able to cook it anymore even if you tried. There was only one cook and made the food in such a way that I wouldn't go eat there if it depended on my life, the sausage gravy and biscuits we ordered were ripped in half by hand and tasted disgusting. The "spiced potatoes" we got were cold and the cook must've gotten lazy because the potatoes which were fried had a disturbing oily crunch. The waitress also refilled our drinks and the charged us for them without telling us. And when we finally recieved our orders everything we ordered was done wrong. The waitress tried to stall but the wait was way too much. I don't think I'm ever going back to the restaurant at Mt. Charleston " Resort" . Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
There was not enough towels, for 3 people in the room and only two towels! Our room must have been under the staircase because we heard every footstep! We got maybe 3 hours of sleep!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The Resort has an abundance of potential, but sloppy management is to blame for not meeting that potential. The hotel is far too outdated and dilapidated to charge the "Resort prices" they are trying to get. And the staff, while kind and friendly, are not professional and their lack of training is clearly a management issue. Likewise, the management […] seems to be trying to pass off the poor condition of the hotel as having a rustic "feel." They should start by cleaning up the entrance and removing the broken down statues if they want anyone to take them serious. This is insulting to a guest's intelligence. One good amenity is the food. Even though we waited more than an hour to get our breakfast and two other families seated after us were served 30 minutes before us, the portions were significant and the quality of the food was definitely 4-star! (Kudos to the chef!) The food and kind staff is a definite plus. Unfortunately, they do not make up for the lack of professionalism and the poor quality of the establishment. Coming from someone with experience in executive management and years of customer service experience, the management (or ownership) is clearly milking this cow for all it's worth before taking it to the slaughterhouse. Had a great time. If you need anything I would stop at local store before hand though. Very secluded and beautiful views. Wish they had a pool or hot tub.Genuine Expedia guest review
Thermostat was broken and 32 degrees out. We waited 2 hours for maintenace to show then went to the front desk again just to find out maintenance was gone for the day. We were then given a new room. Otherwise it was a nice stay.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great Romantic Getaway"
The floor in the room was a little crooked, but it was part of the "rustic" nature of the hotel. The electric fireplace in the room was a nice touch. The food was fantastic (we ate in the bar where they serve the full menu). However, the drinks were rather expensive. I would stay again as it made for a great one-night escape from the city.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Family Vacation during winter break"
This hotel was a great quick getaway for winter break from Las Vegas. Easy to get to and the kids got to play in the snow and watch movies and have hot chocolate. The only problem we had was the restaurant. We repeatedly had very bad service at the restaurant. We were comped a meal for the inconvenience. The food was good, though.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

We were there for a birthday celebration & a 15 year anniversary. Everything was great until we saw the room we were staying in... The floor had a slant all the way through the room & water stains & cracks in ceiling as there was a balcony above our window. There was an elder mans reading glasses sitting on the night stand?? We were kind of upset & […] disappointed from all the good things that we were told about the Lodge. We thought about coming again when it snowed, but a employee said that we are not able to come up unless we had chains on our tires?? Sorry to say, we wont be back I guess... "A little disappointed"
Loved, loved, loved the scenery. It was a little farther outside Vegas than what I expected. The outside of the hotel is nice, but the inside definately needs some updates. The shower curtain fell down, there was only like 10 channels on the TV, our room was on the 3 floor and there is no elevator. With the lay out of the building, it required us to […] walk up a level, across the building, up another level and back down the length of the building, Wouldn't stay here again unless there was some remodeling done. Great location in the Mt. Charleston wilderness area right outside of Las Vegas. The hotel is in a very peaceful and scenic part of the mountain region and very close to great hiking trails. "Nice place, good rates, rooms were okay"
This hotel was convenient to the wedding venue at Mount Charleston Lodge. Everything about the hotel was very rustic and charming as you would expect a mountain lodge to look like. Our daughter liked the ducks that waddle around near the pond and looking at the fish. Rooms at back of hotel have beautiful views of the mountains. Front desk staff was […] very friendly and professional. The price was right. Rooms were clean but outdated. It was disappointing that there is no pool on the property. I would not necessarily recommend this hotel for families with children. There really isn't anything for kids to do here. Also, there is no elevator so you have to lug your bags upstairs. "Anniversary stay at Mt Charleston"
For the price it was definitely worth it. Pros: were that its relaxing and pretty. The room was fine, bed was comfortable and clean. Cons: no coffee maker in the room which I found very strange. TV channels didnt come in very good but I don't blame the hotel. After all its in the mountains. A pool would be nice or at least a jacuzzi.
