Overall stars - zero. Staff were friendly and helpful which was the only good thing there. The rooms were well worn and the beds were not comfortable. Glad we only stayed 2 nights. Would have checked out otherwise.

We got a good deal through hotels.ca and were not expecting four stars. The staff was nice, the room was clean, the location is very good, a block from the beach but largely a residential neighbourhood, and a short walk to the Water Taxi. Ample free parking. Oh, the free Wi-Fi was weak in our room and the shower was a little anemic, because we were […] on the top floor. Nice clean heated pool, free coffee in the morning. The building and the furniture is a little past its glory, but we're plain folk and we don't know any different. I would gladly go back if I could get that good price again. Read more

exceptional staff, help with absolutely every aspect of your holiday from the front office, and time day or night hotel is old, but every effort has been made to keep it in good repair and it is clean and friendly , we loved it and saved our money to spend on activities in the area. took the bus everywhere, stops right out front, beach is a half block […] and beautiful and quiet, pool is clean and all rooms look out over it. if you are looking for a hilton or ramada, this isnt it, but if you are looking for quiet, economical and clean, save your money and head to the lafayette, you wont be sorry ! i cant stress enough how appreciative we were of the fact that the hotel manager spends so much time helping guests with their plans, for the day, for the future, etc, even to the extent of arranging a hotel for us when we returned from our cruise closer to the airport because we had such an early flight, even knowing that by doing that he was doing himself out of night's stay. he also kept night staff on until we got there the night of our arrival, even though it was well after two in the morning. the personal service is above and beyond! it is exceptional!. This place is a dump! I was in tears, we arrived around 12:30 am and checked out an hour later. There were holes in the comforters, the room smelled old and musky, the walls were stained, the faucet knobs on both the sink and bath tub were covered in green and white scum, I wouldn't have touched them without a paper towel, the light fixture above the […] sink was missing, there was hair hanging from the old worn out sofa/ bench they had in the room. The lamp shade had black stains all over it, the hangers they had in the closet looked like hangers a previous guest had left behind, I had my two yr old child which I let stay asleep in her stroller while we located a new hotel because I was afraid to lay her on the disgusting bed, and forget about even bathing her in the tub!! The hot water in the sink came out fine but the cold water just trinkled so I'm sure showering would have been a challenge. I was shown another room and it was in the same condition. hotel clean and tidy, good budget hotel. Only problem was facilities for food prep/cooking - "kitchenette" would be an overstatement - but on the bright side - 1 minute walk to great beach ! Pool good, very helpful staff.

Stayed one night and it was enough. Was told we could park a car there while on a cruise but when got there they said no. Street noise was loud and another motel nearby was advertising less per night for a room.

Spiders in the sheets ,towels dirty looking than my cleaning rags ,TV on the floor ,and a smell not good .

First no water then drunk neighbors who managed to lock their door in 3am and even with hotel stuff helping, they couldn't open it until 5am. Imagine trying to sleep with cardboard walls and someone knocking and shouting for three hours.

I'm disappointed in the fact that I never thought this was a motel. The room was pretty dingy, semi clean and very antique for the price charged.

This place is not what it's cracked up to be. The room was filthy. My sheets had holes and rips in it. The mini fridge was COMPLETELY DIRTY! It was supposed to be white--it was an off white dirty brown with fingerprints on it. Roaches all over the room. I had to have them switch my room 1am because I woke up to a roach crawling too close to my face. […] Once the switched my rooms it wasn't much of a difference. Its equivalent to a cheesey motel 6. Way over rated. That is pretty much all I can say about this place.

The hotel needs some serious overall maintenance done to it. I don't see it as a real hotel.

The hotel in general needs a complete makeover. From the initial check in (the clerk was difficult at best) to the final check out I was greatly disappointed. The bed was uncomfortable, the room was modern in the late 60's but now.......well.

Very nice manager offered to let me park my truck dirrectly in front of the building because it's large and would not fit in the garage area. Just thought it was a nice thing to do and I appreciated it. Excellent location. Close to beach and strip. Very well priced and a cool little spot to chill.

When we arrived to the hotel we were already a little angry of the appearance, nonetheless we still checked in b/c it was almost midnight. At 1st we thought everything would be fine b/c the person@check in was nice and upgraded our room, HOWEVER the room was filty and we had some unknown little white bugs that the gentleman at the counter tried to make […] me believe were ants. From there we were moved to another room that was WORST! This room was also filthy the ceiling tiles were all mildewed, the shower leaked and again...there were little white bugs. Needless to say this was not where we stayed for our vacation. I would not recommend this flea bag motel to anyone on earth! Read more

Nice guy that works at the front, but unless you want to immerse yourself in a B-movie with no hope of a plot I'd suggest sleeping in your car.

This is NOT a hotel. Instead it is a motel. Bedspreads are not clean. Shower hadles are rusted. Person who checked in is not friendly and he was shouting outside the room loaudly to somebody else in the morning which disturbed my sleep.

I knew that it would be an older motel. I normally don't care as long as it's clean. However this place changed my whole viewpoint. Old and dingy doesn't begin to describe it! There was an extra sink filled with mildewy water that leaked all over our floor. We had baby ants in our bathroom. When we complained they did repair the sink and clean up the […] water. The baby ants dissipated only to be replaced by baby cockroaches! We arrived Thur and left Sun. We only received fresh towels on 2 of those days! They were always 'in the wash'! Please stay away!! Cheap doesn.t mean have the worst service/hotel. The a/c not working, no internet at all, the pool was not clean, the bathtub rusty badly, and the room smell terrible.

The location of this hotel is wonderful if you are there to enjoy the beach. Even though it is not close to the "night life" of Ft Lauderdale it is still only a short drive. The room was clean and the beds were confortable. The A/C didnt keep the room as cool as I would have liked and the window in the bathroom would not close so the bathroom was always […] swelteringly hot. This is the first hotel out of 3 booked over the past two months in the Ft. Lauderdale area. The first 2 hotels we were delighted with even though they were rated 21/2 strars they were very comfortable clean rooms. The Lafafeytte was far from that. When entering the room to drop off our luggage it seemed warm so we lowered the temp on the wall unit […] and left to meet friends for dinner. When arriving back at 10:30pm the room was 81 degrees very stuffy to say the least the temp fluctuated between 81 and 82 degrees through out the night. Both beds had sand in them so we had to sleep above the sheets which was ok as we certainley did not need to be covered due to the heat. The bathtub calking was laddended with mold a little bleach would take care of that problem and in addition the bathroom window did not close and had no screen on it which allowed un wanted guest in the room. This was a definte no star hotel we would not recommend anyone stay at this facility. Read more

This was a cheap motel and you could tell. But for the money and what you got it wasnt half bad. The guy at the front desk was nice and helped us out. The motel was dated with out many upgrades. But the room did have a full kitchen with a microwave, full fridge, stove, sink and came with plates, glasses, silverware everything you would need to cook […] if you wanted. I enjoyed the hotel.I have been there several times and it is a nice hotel that is so close to the beach. The rooms I had before were perfect but this last room needed major renovation. Would I want that room again NO, I rather the suites because the basic room you would want to go home same day. Besides the room I enjoyed the pool.Extra clean pool […] and staff were extra nice. Great location! The beach is just across the street. Great restaurants are a nice stroll away.The staff are very professional. I will stay here again on my next visit to Fort Lauderdale.

The guest check in clerk was very nice. Our room wasnt ready on time so he gave us an upgrade for the same price. He didn't try to charge us more than he should because he understands that it was an inconvenience for us. It aws near the beach so very convenient!I would recommend people to stay there.

Yes, this is an older hotel and I wish it were closer to the action in Fort Lauderdale, but for the price, it was great!! Check in and check out were fast and easy. Staff was friendly. Rooms are dated, but clean and large. It is a short walk to the beautiful ocean. Neighborhood seems safe and we had no problems. It was just what we wanted, and the price was low. Awesome beach right across the street, nice pool, BBQ, patios, quiet and comfy. Lots to do nearby. Next time we'll stay longer.

1. Door knob broken on bathroom door. 2. There were holes in the bathroom. 3. Poor wall repair. 4. Entrance door needs repair. 5. Air conditioner controls broken.

Nice view of the Atlantic, covered parking was nice, pool was clean. Otherwise very cheesy, get what you pay for

We stayed for three nights at this hotel and were not dissatisfied. It was one of the cheapest, at the time, that we could find near the beach. There are some good things and some bad things about this establishment. Good: -located half a block from the beach, took 1 minute to walk there -nice clean pool -manager was very nice and helpful with information […] about the area -right next to a bus stop -room was cleaned daily -air conditioning worked very well -quiet Bad: -not really any large areas of food/attraction within walking distance -the rooms were in need of some repair and maintenance This was a nice little hotel/inn for a low price. We knew that it would not be the Rits Carlton but it was still nice. We did not plan on spending much time at the room anyway. The biggest thing that people reading this review should keep in mind is that it is not very near the big tourist areas. Of course, the closer you are to those areas, the more expensive. When choosing your hotel to stay at, you should weight price and location. The areas in need of repair were mostly cosmetic in nature and nothing to be overly worried about. I would recommend this hotel as a cheap but nice place to stay in Ft. Lauderdale. Read more

I stay at the Lafayette every time I travel to Fort Lauderdale. The location is excellent, across the street from the beach and a short walk or drive to area restaurants and shopping. Granted, the rooms could use upgrading, but I never had an issue with my room on any of my stays.

Employees, staff, grounds, parking, internet all excellent and greatly appreciated. Overall great stay. However "bugs"... were not an expected part of the stay so we had to keep everything in baggies and in our zipped up suitcases the whole stay.

the hotel was exactly what i wanted when i went down there the only thing was not where all the night life was at was a $10 cab ride to the bar area i would stay here if you dont mind it cause you would save on the hotel bill very affordible and convient good stay

The hotel is located at a 2 min walk from the beach, the rooms are spacious and very clean, the kitchenette is not very great but serves the purpose. The hotel also has a swimming pool and barbeque grills are provided. The staff is great and helpful.

Stayed in many hotels/motels in my life and this one is most certainly the worst. It was very dirty throughout. Soiled sheets with rips in them. I could go on and on. Just don't stay here.
