Free shuttle to the hotel from airport. Nice exercise room and pool. Room was very comfortable, staff friendly, and hotel was well-maintained and clean. Shuttle provided by hotel to points of interest and cruiseport. Definite return stay next time catching a cruise out of Ft. Lauderdale.

This is a woonderful place to stay. The employees were all nice and concerned that our stay was comforable. The only thing that kept this place from getting all 5's was there were dead bugs in the pool.

We went on a Carnival cruise and we stayed the night prior to departure. I called hotel and we waited no more than 10 mins. For pickup to the hotel. The staff was awesome and our room was clean and the beds was comfortable. The next morning we had a wake up call and as promised the van was there to pick us up. The driver was polite and helped us with our luggage. When the cruise was over we was picked up and taken back to the hotel. We waited less than an hour for our room. We had to be back to the airport the following morning and the hotel had us picked up and taken to the airport. To some it up . It was the best deal in town. We look forward to our next stay.

The most DISGUSTING hotel I have ever stayed at. There was a dirty sock sitting in the sink. Do not stay here!

While the location is good (walking to the beach and close to the FL night action), the hotel is in a very bad state, nearly everything that can be broken, is broken! It is frequented by young people after a cheap hotel, than means until 4 or 5 am, there is shouting, fighting, etc. Only positive, is the night guard who tried his best! The front desk was rude and I felt unsafe. The motel smells weird and didn't seem very clean. The extra charge for more than two people for a room with two double beds is a rip off.

i wasn't too picky for a hotel/motel but this one got the job done. Nothing too fancy but when you are in South Florida you don't want to be locked up in your room all day.

Front desk is nice, bed/towels are clean. Minor problem with bathroom door (cannot close properly) and a little bit leak under the water sink --- did not bother me since I spent more of the time outside.

Hotel was 'get what you pay for'. It was OK, and served its purpose. Hotel is old and shows sign of its age everywhere. However, room was decent & beds seem to have clean sheets. Stayed in room basically to just sleep. Fridge, bathroom, doors, etc could use replacement - again outdated.

I'm 64 and travel frequently and this is worst motel In have ever stayed This motel has not been refurbished in at least 30 years..The envelope they gave me my room key cards had been reused many times and was dirty. Just aweful. Do not stay at this motel.
"Great Place"
I stay at Lafayette every trip I make to Fort Lauderdale. At check in, the staff is very nice and always very nice every trip I make. My room is spacious and clean, wifi, swimming pool, laundry facilities, across the street from the beach. Who could ask for more!
"STAY FAR AWAY"
The room was not cleaned, there was vomit in the bathroom from the previous guest - the bed sheets had LOTS of human hair on them.
We have repeated earlier that, all our rooms are 100% cleaned before offering to the guests. The allegations are serious, that the bathroom was not cleanedand and there was a vomit from the prevoius guests. It would have been easier to contact the front desk and show them how bad was the bathroom rather than making allegations. We urge, that in case any guest has an issue please contact front desk to resolve the issue. The rooms are checked by the senior house keeper after cleaned by the janitorial staff. There is no compromise on claening of the rooms / bathrooms. If the room was that bad the front desk should be informed immediately.

The place was in a great location. That was the best thing about this hotel..The rest was okay. I was traveling for business so this was perfect for me. The man at the front desk is more than willing to help you if you have any problems. I would recommend if you are on a budget.
"The Lafayette"
My cousin and I had a great time at the Lafayette. The rates were in our budget. I stayed at the Days Inn in Miami this past February and they don't have anything on the Lafayette. The management accommodated our needs. Mr. Raymond the night manager provided us with dining options that more than suited our tastes and his directions saved us unnecessary […] walking. Since the purpose of the trip was just to chill and get away and relax, we didn't have a rental car, so the bus stop out front proved to be a valuable commodity (you should buy an all day pass it is so worth it). Even though there is a parking on the premises. The room served its purpose as it was cold and rainy a couple of days we were there. Hence we decided to stay in order food (he is an adult male and I am an adult female) we had enough space not to get on each others nerves. Our room was only a block from the beach but you could never tell it by the smell. I am big on aroma and our room was fresh. If you are on a budget and you want to stay in a great place, I strongly suggest the Lafayette. Read more

"nasty"
this place is nasty the bathroom was not clean their was mold on the shower curtians as well as the tile in and around the tub. The towels that they gave to us had holes in them and they felt like sand paper. the kitchen was in the same condition and the floor was dirty .
We completely disagree with these comments by the guests. Every room and bathroom is always cleaned before offering to any guest. We do not offer / supply towels with holes to any rooms. We always request all the guests to report of any problems to the front desk so we can rectify the situation before they depart. We make our best efforts to gain 100% customer satisfaction. Cleanliness and customer satisfaction are our prime objectives.

"Very Satisfied"
This is the 3rd or 4th time I have stayed at this hotel. The price is right, the location on the beach is great. The staff is very friendly and the room is comfortable. This is not a 5 star so if that is what you are looking for, stay down the street and the more expensive hotels. I will stay here again.

"Get what you pay for"
The receptionist was the only thing that exceeded my expectations.He was very friendly. Hotel room had all types of bugs. Seriously. They were everywhere. It could be due to the door on the room not shutting properly and not touching the ground. Not sure. Convienent to busses and 10 blocks from the beach. Cute pool.

Since the beginning my experience was positive with Sanjay (the manager) pro-actively recognizing an error in my reservation and upgrading it to a better room. I read many of the past reviews and went to the hotel with an open mind. I have traveled the world and have stayed at a variety of accomodations. This is a very old motel that was at one time apartments. The staff is very nice, very helpful. I was upgraded which I thought was a nice gesture, the room was big, the kitchen which I did not need nor would […] I ever use was funky. The bathroom was old. The sheets did not appear to be as clean and fresh as they should be. I would not return to this hotel because I like a little more comfort. I stayed one night because that's all I needed. "Roches Hotel"
We went this hotel last week. It is Roaches in rooms. It is awful. The Maid service weren't come or not clean in room one miss day. We'll never go this Hotel.

Hotel is older and though everything seemed to be painted nice, there were some issues. Hotel in my opinion is $25-$30 overpriced. If I needed a place to stay I would go back but not with my family. Staff was very nice and accommodating, wifi was not working, told it was a technical issue. Extended checkout 1 hour and that was not a problem.

We got to the hotel about an hour early and they let us go right to our room. The beds were very comfortable and clean! We asked about things in the area for food and they were glad to assist and talked to my kids as well. They even told us about fast food places without saying the names so the kids would not say that's what they wanted. "Staff very helpful"
The staff was very helpful with poviding directions in the local area. The pool was great and the beach was a short /one block walk. This beach is clean and not crowded. To make the room more secure, I would like to see a dead bolt and inside chain on the door.

We spent five nights in this hotel in July. For the price we paid, it was almost a luxurious experience. The room was much bigger than a typical 3-4 star hotel room. It was kept very clean. The kitchenette was an additional bonus and it was well used during our stay. We liked the location - just the right distance from the beach. Of course, the hotel […] is old and some features need to be updated. In our room, for example, the bathroom was remodeled but the kitchenette looked like it was not touched since the sixties. The spring mattress on the bed was very "rocky", but surprisingly, we did not wake up in the morning with a back ache. The towels definitely need to be replaced - you could almost see through them, that's how thin they were. Again, this is a perfect place for somebody who wants to save money on their hotel stay and wants to have a safe and rather comfortable place to spend the night. Read more

This hotel is in a very good area, right across the street from the beach. Lots of parking. Our room was a studio w/a kitchenette, two queen size beds and a queen size pull out sofa. We had two TV's. The room was clean for the most part. A few cockroaches in the kitchenette, but not too many. Refrigerator worked well. My only complaint is the air conditioner […] in the bedroom didn't work well. This location is right next to the main road, which makes the noise in the room very loud. This is an old hotel, that could use some updating. The people that runs the hotel are awsome!!! They were very friendly and helpful. How, ever I am glad that my stay was only for one night.

This Lafayette is a motel on A-1A in Fort Lauderdale... a good walk from the beach. When I checked in, the clerk handed me the remote control for the television. The air wasn't turned on in the room.
