Our stay started off on the wrong foot.. We got to our room to find that a couple of lights weren't working and the quality wasn't what we expected from what we thought was a 4 star hotel as advertised here. We asked for another room but were told that there were none available. The room looked like it was missing some items and there wasn't that attention […] to detail you would expect from a 4 star hotel - for example a lamp shade was missing and was added by housekeeping while we were out. The bed was just a spring mattress without a pillow top and really not that comfortable. Our room was right by the elevators and it was very noisy. What a great find! This is a downtown treasure for those looking for something upscale yet moderately priced. My room was clean, comfortable and very nicely decorated. The rooftop bar was a terrific after hours spot although the pool (also rooftop) closes a bit early if you're there with kids. The hotel was in a great location for sight seeing - just blocks from the white house and Smithsonian. We were a family of 4 with two kids who were 7 and 9 - we enjoyed the rooftop pool (but note it does close around 5 pm) service was great - everyone was really friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend this hotel!!

The staff was excellent. I have experienced difficulties at other places due to the unconventional look of my boyfriend and I, but not here! The room was nice, but items such as the lamps were cheap. This was a great boutique hotel. It was fun and modern and contemporary. It was even welcoming for children. While we were checking in, they gave our kids bubbles to play with while we waited. The staff was excellent in helping us: they held our bags for us the day we checked out until we were ready to leave, they gave great directions to the Metro […] and driving directions for night-time viewing, they were very friendly to our kids. The beds were comfortable. Loved the spiral shower although it did make it a little hard to shave my legs in. Clean room. Very modern lobby. The only negative about this hotel is the parking. The entrance is right beside the front door, and there is little signage. Plus, the hotel sits on the right corner of a round-about. So by the time we saw the parking sign, we were past it and in the round about. We had to circle the block to come back to parking on the right side of the road which isn't easy in DC traffic. Our shower was a disabilities shower and water went all over the bathroom. No coffee machine in the room. No desk in the room. Pool very small. Front desk people extremely efficient and very nice. Nice neighborhood.

Because it is a higher end hotel, it seems like going the extra miles is not necessary which is disappointing. I feel that not as highly star rated hotels make more efforts to please and welcome their guests. Just a shame that simple things like saying "hello" were not in order until I had to repeat it twice despite there being three receptionists right […] in front of me who were chatting to each other instead of paying attention to the customers... The service at the hotel is outstanding, which made up for the room. Fantastic location to see the fireworks on the fourth. Can see them perfectly from Thomas circle. The pool is the size of a large bathtub and there is minimal shade with nowhere to see because it gets so crowded. The room is small and the bed was tiny! Ordered a room with a king bed […] and by the time we came back from dinner and the fireworks to sleep realized it was not a king and instead a full. Almost everything about my stay was excellent. Except for a bad experience in the hotel restaurant. Some potential clients met me for a morning meeting. Since I did not know they did not have breakfast upon their arrival, I offered them breakfast in the hotel restaurant. I had already eaten. Only one of us three had the buffet. Two of us had coffee. […] Upon receiving bill, I saw that manager had added a $15 fee for our lack of 3 meals. He joked about it upon our ordering. I did not take him seriously. I wish I had. EXCELLENT! Great first impression and everything got even better. We enjoyed the location, the staff was amazing, professional and helpful (the front desk, concierge Clay was the best, bartenders and hosts at the restaurant). We enjoyed the roof pool, the happy hour, the cold limonade at the lobby, the cocoon chairs... We can't wait to go back!

Only problem was when walking down 14th St we were constantly being asked for money by I would guess the homeless persons who seem to have made the park on 14th their home. The hotel was alright the lobby and check in staff were great. The room was alright. The air conditioning didn't work well and there was mold growing on the shower curtain. For the price we paid I expected a little more from the hilton. The rooms were a lot smaller in person and the furniture occupied too much of that space. Great location and found a good deal. Modern furnishings, nice amenities. My biggest complaint is with the shower. Poor water pressure, poorly designed knobs made it difficult to adjust water temp, some water would just collect and not go toward the drain... There was also a huge wine stain in the carpet, and parts of the bed construction (overhead […] box area that contained the lights) was falling apart. Oh and the elevator set up could be better. From the lobby you couldn't tell which elevator door opened and they were painfully slow. Can't tel what floor the elevator is on when you're waiting for it. I don't know if they washed the sheets from the previous occupant because the sheets smelled like Bengay!, I had a view of the "courtyard" but it was really just a view of the back of another building The innovative style they are going for isn't the most functional. Staff was pleasant , helpful, and showed an attention to detail. The room was huge and very unique. We had a suite, and the sitting room had low lying couches with at least a dozen throw pillows, a very unusual rotating chair that encompassed your entire body. 2 large flat screen TV's . A large bathroom with a free standing tub, and wrap around shower, […] with a large sink and vanity area. The king size bed and dresser area was fantastic. The room had back lighting that made it quite romantic. Cleaning staff were very efficient, and kept the room well stocked. The reception and porter staff were helpful and very friendly. It's not the newest building... but it's kept up well and done in very modern decor. I also love the Logan Circle neighborhood it's in. It's not right on any metro line, but it's a 10-15 minute walk to any color you want and very close to the White House and other touristy stuff without being in a touristy area. One night we did not have our rooms made up, one night we had no towels, one morning we had no wake up call when we asked for one, one night we had one when we did ask for one. It goes on and on.
