"Need to improve on several things."
The rooms were very tired and smelled like smokers has recently stayed in the rooms. While the bathroom and kitchen area were recently upgraded and were very clean, the bed and bedding felt old and not clean. The carpet was also questionable as well as the vacuuming. The drapes were torn and badly in need of replacing. . The view was spectacular and […] the location great. Just To get new bedding carpeting and drapes would so greatly improve the rooms. I just didn't feel comfortable walking barefoot except on the tiles. Otherwise it was very nice. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Will be back!!"
My boyfriend and I spent a long weekend -- 2 fireplaces, oversized whirlpool, deck overlooking the water -- much larger than ever expected for the price! My boyfriend proposed to me there so we will be back annually. The staff was very friendly, attentive, and helpful. Perfect place for a perfect weekend!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Very clean and relaxing!"
Me and my boyfriend stayed at sunset cliff cottage, it was VERY nice. It was very clean inside the cabin, nothing broke or went wrong during our stay. The pier is a little dirty, but the campfire and yard was very nice. The only real complaint I have is that its far from town. About a 20 min drive to the nearest town. If you come here I suggest to bring your own grill just because they have a charcoal one and its a little buggy. But other than those couple of things it was a very nice get away. We also didnt have much signal for texting and internet which I LOVED :) I recommend this place to all my friends and family!
"Not what they say"

We booked an offsite cabin run by Snug Harbor called Sunset cliff. We were told we have private use of the pier. We especially liked that since we were bringing our border collie who loves to swim. Also planned to do some fishing. The place is no where near worth the price. Kitchen cabinets had door fronts falling off, some doors didnt close. AND THERE WAS NO PIER! Now your out of cell phone range once your there and no way to contact Snug Harbor. Finally the next day I got through to them and asked about the pier. Their reply, oh a storm just came through and took out all our cabin piers. Huh? I look at the neighbors pier and it's in perfect shape, also, the pier that was laying on beach (COUGH) was neatly stacked and had weeds growing up through it. Clearly not something that just happened. I will not be going back. Make a fool of me once. Enough said Bottom line, ask lots of questions.

I made a reservation foe May but had to move to August, no problem I was told. I checked in and found out several things not in the email confirmation. 1) there is a 3 night minimum during summer season. 2) the rate increased by $50.00 per night. 3) I was charged $10.00 to change my reservation. When I asked about all the changes I was told, you should have asked. Really ?? The room was just okay, smelled a little old, wallpaper peeling, spots on the carpet, the fan in the bathroom looked like someone punched it, wash clothes ragged at the ends. For $189.00 a night I expected a better product. Since I had to pay for the 3rd night even though I couldn't stay, we won't be back. There are plenty of lodging choices in Door County.

Stayed in Suite 204. When we first walked in the A/C was off and the room was all musty smelling. We finally got it going and then it got too cold, even with turning the temp way down. Our girls really enjoyed staying in the lofted bedroom (they're 4 and thought it was too cool). It's not too fancy and needs a bit of updating (I HATE wallpaper - especially in bathrooms where it is always peeling and looks bad). It had a decent enough kitchen with refrigerator and stove and dishwasher. Came in handy for keeping the freezer packs cold for cherry picking. It did have a nice view of the water, but I think next time, we'll probably want to stay further north into Door County and a place with a pool for the kids. (Note: I had limited choices as stay here was very last minute - called a day ahead...)
"Wow!! This snug resort overlooking Sturgeon Bay blew our minds away on Thur., July 3, 2014!!!"

Shock and awe from the get go!!!. Our fishing party stayed in cottages 2 and 3 and also suite 201 that resembles the White House president's suite with its spacious suite with bed and adjactent whirlpool and upstairs 2nd bedroom to boot overlooking Sturgeon Bay!!!. In 2000 Memorial Day weekend I stayed here with my fishing guide Paul Prorok and cooked crappie in cottage #2. Did I mentioned the area is a world class fishery? We landed 101 smallmouth bass in one day-all catch and release and the snug harbor inn was a perfect place to launch from. It was very clean and it was great to have one's own private bedroom! Last 4th of July I drove from Chicago to Sturgeon Bay to book this one night and pay in full as we needed to stop here overnight on the way to Washington Island for the 4th of July weekend, 2014. This was our Living the Washington Island Dream Part II Fourth of July Weekend(my bucket list) trip and my 4th time in 2014 to visit Door County!!!! We were looking for a place with reasonably priced two bedroom cottages and this was definitely the best place for lots of bedrooms that afford you plenty of privacy on a fishing trip for 6 people! When we arrived late Thursday night (our keys were carefully placed in a mailbox for us)Everyone in the fishing party was so impressed when the doors to the units were opened-especially suite 201!!! We also enjoyed stopping off at the Stone Harbor Resort Pub and also for midnight pizza at the Greycastle-both places had a great welcoming atmosphere. Our units were immaculate upon arrival and the beds were all very comfortable. We watched Wimbledon in the morning before checking out! Five Stars for a Northwoods cottage resort atmosphere! ***** Thank you for exceeding everyone's expectations!! If you are on a budget, definitely consider closely this snug hidden gem overlooking Sturgeon Bay in Door County!

Mom and I took a girls' trip to Door County and we found this place via Trip Advisor. The reviews were right on, what a great little place. We stayed in Luxury Cottage 1 (not to be confused with 1A) which had a small kitchenette with a dishwasher, a living room with cable tv and a fireplace, two bedrooms and a bathroom. The larger bedroom even had a very large Jacuzzi tub in it. The view looks right onto the docks and the water - very nice. The staff was great and the rooms are very clean. We noticed that a few families had their dogs along too - a bonus if you'd like to travel with your pooch. We would recommend this place to friends and family. Very, very good.
"Stayed there for years!"

Whenever I visit Door County I always stay at Snug Harbor. I've rented their suites, their onsite cottages and their offsite cottages. Each has it's own precious luxury. The suites are wonderful, like a condo. The onsite cottages have a shared fire pit that is wonderful for having cocktails and chatting with other guests. The offsite cottages are spectacular. It's like having your own cabin right at the base of the lake. Whichever one you choose, it's quiet, clean and romantic. The offsite cottages aren't as modernly decorated as the suites and onsite cottages but they are comfortable, have everything you need and give an exceptional experience. Snug Harbor is pet friendly, because the hosts have had dogs of their own, they welcome all furry friends like their guests. The price is great for the area and what you receive. I have never thought of staying anywhere else!
"We enjoyed our stay very much"

3 of us stayed here for 2 nights in May for a fishing trip, we rented cottage 3 next to the main hotel and right on the water. I've read some of the bad reviews and I've got to say that we didn't experience anything close to what those reviews said. Upon checking in, we were greeted by a very friendly woman who got us checked in quickly. Our cottage lights were on and the door was unlocked for us to get in easily and get all our gear unpacked. The cottage was really clean and fully stocked for our stay. The cleaning woman came both days right around noon and kept our cottage clean and restocked with coffee... the first day, she even did all of the dishes we left in the sink from the night before...we certainly didn't expect this and we did tip her extra for this. Both nights, we built a fire in the fire pit and there was plenty of fire wood on hand. The grass was mowed and the yard was clean and tidy. We also kept our boat in one of their slips and we were able to run an extension cord to shore power for the trolling motor battery. Our only minor complaint was with the sofa sleeper. It was not at all in good shape and not suitable for anyone other than maybe a kid. They shouldn't advertise the sofa sleeper as an option for a third sleeping spot. The guy who got the sofa sleeper just slept on the couch folded up the second night with much better results. Other than that, we had a great time here. Clean and inviting and we'll absolutely stay here again in the Oct for our fall trip.
"Love this hidden gem!"

This hidden gem is a favorite spot for my husband and I! We love coming here - the room is cozy, the fireplace is wonderful, the whirlpool is huge, and the location is awesome! Plus they are dog-friendly, so that is a huge plus if we want to take along our pups. That is really hard to find in Door County! The cottages are on the water, nestled in a cute residential neighborhood. Off the beaten path, but less than 5 minutes from downtown Sturgeon Bay where you will find shopping and some wonderful restaurants. We stay here in the winter usually, but in the summer there is a grill and chairs facing the water! Great value, great people - we have been back year after year! Lana & Ryan + Lola, Daisy, Zuzu

We stayed for 4 nights over the July 4th weekend this year. We had one of the smaller hotel rooms on the 1st floor facing the bay. We enjoyed our stay - the accomodations were basic, but everything was clean and functional and more than adequate for our needs. The property is in a beautiful location with great views and easy access to town. Staff was friendly and helpful, from the reservation process through checkout. Nobody will mistake this for a luxury resort, but it's a great value and a quiet & relaxing place to stay - we'll definitely be back.
