Although this hotel is about 25 minutes from Barcelona proper, it provided us the comfort and convenience travelling especially since we're a a family of four. Hotel is about a 15 minute train ride outside of Barcelona and then you have to walk a bit to get to the hotel from the train station. No shuttles offered to train station and the nearest bus pick-up per the hotel's map was quite a trip also. Very inconvenient when traveling with small kids and grandparents. Restaurants were a good distance from the hotel as well but there was an awesome bakery close to the park that neighbors the hotel. Intentionally booked two non-smoking rooms both with one queen and a sofa bed for each room so that our children could stay in either room. Upon check-in was told that we were being given one room as booked and the other would be a single since only one adult was listed for staying in that room. Told reception that was not what I booked and paid for and that I wanted what I booked. Slight debate occurred and eventually was accommodated with a smoking room on a different floor with atrocious carpet because clerk stated that no one else was there to get another room arranged for us closer together and no offer was made to accommodate us once more staff were available. Was assured though that the carpet was clean although severely stained. Breakfast offered was decent but that's about it. If truly wanting to experience Barcelona, stay in the city. Read more

This was our second time at this hotel. It's 30 min away from downtown by train, but the train is not expensive and it leaves you right in Sants Station or Plaza de Catalunya in the heart of Barcelona. You won't find a hotel as comfy as this for the same price in the city. The rooms have tea and coffee facilities, but no minibar. There's a large supermarket […] next door. The train station is an easy stroll 7 or 8 blocks away. Breakfast is included, but there are always problems, ie. coffee machine not working, when they run out of something it takes an hour to replace. This last time we were pretty angry with te service. It was a weekend trip, but we stayed monday, and needed to have a teleconference from 2 to 3 PM. We asked if we could purchase a late checkout at 3 or 4, in order to do it, since it was very important for us,but they refused, we asked for a private space to do it, since we had already paid for 24 hrs of Internet, but they only offered the breakfast room, which is te same space as the reception. It was noisy, full of people chatting, and Internet went down, and the servers were down. We decided to leave and find some other place, since it was obvious that this hotel is not business friendly. If you're only there for the sightseeing, and don't need to go back to the hotel during the day, it's OK. We chose this hotel because of the lower rates and the proximity to the airport. The hotel being part of an American chain did not live up to the expected standards. Despite the fact that it is fairly new, it is poorly maintained, they were stained on the carpets and furniture, the A/C didn't function properly, the design of the room makes it feel smaller […] then it is and the staff was not that friendly. It is a distance away from Barcelona with a 10 min walk to the station and 6 station stops to Catalunya. Trains are frequent during weekdays with a decrease of service on weekends. It can get confusing to get the right train back to the hotel. We bought a Zone 2 T-10 for our group's commute. Helpful staff, very clean room - bathroom was very modern and tidy. Comfortable beds, had a good nights sleep. Excellent value for price and buffet breakfast was more than adequate. On the downside, we arrived at hotel about 10.15 pm having booked at least 10 days prior to arrival yet the pullout bed for our son had not been made up and we had to wait […] until 11pm for the night porter to do this for us. Not so much of an issue with a 14 year old but had he been younger this wouldn't have pleased us at all! Hotel is perfect for a business trip or for an overnight stay on-route to another destination, such as we had done. Facilities were fairly basic, but enough! If you are looking for a holiday hotel then I doubt this would tick many boxes i.e. No entertainment, pool, gym, view etc! Coming from Pamplona, it was very difficult to locate. If it had not been for the small Holiday Inn signs for about 5 miles at the turns, I do not think we would have found it. Everything was perfect. The only negative thing is that the location is quite far from Barcelona's tourist locations. The hotel is 10 min walking from a train station that has trains that takes you straight to main train stations and to the center of Barcelona. A reasonable standard cheap 3 star business hotel but also quite acceptable as a holiday hotel. The rooms are comfortable and clean and have en suite facilities. Tea and coffee are provided in the rooms and there is a restaurant for a standard continental breakfast. Television is also provided in the rooms but for English speakers it concentrates entirely […] on business channels apart from one children's channel. Although out of Barcelona there is an excellent rail connection from Molins de Rei station which is about a 10 to 15 minute walk. There is also a supermarket adjacent to the hotel which provides for normal holiday requirements. Didn't think much of Barcelona though, The Ramblas was full of the usual tourist traps lots of scam artists working in groups trying to con tourists. The Gaudi cathedral is nothing special and some of the prices being asked were rediculous. The beds in the hotel could be better if you are only staying 1-2 nights it should be OK. Overall good hotel at the same standard as say a premier inn in the UK with the exception of the beds. Unfortunatley the hotel is in a lousy location in the middle of an industrial estate, although there is a supermarket next door. great if like me your looking for value for money as the room rates per night appear unbeatable, but i suppose they would have to be based on the Hotels location. Please be warned Taxi fares in Barcelona are a rip off, we made 3 taxi journeys out of necessity, expect to pay about double the UK price. The hotel is excellent value for money, but no more so than similar hotels in Spain which all seem to be relatively cheap compared to the rest of Western Europe. It's a no frills, budget place but clean and comfortable. The internet connection in NOT free - costs 10 Euro a day. Also, the 'business centre' consists of 1 computer near to the reception desk. The biggest issue I had was that they did not clean our room 1 of the days we were there and when I phoned the front desk about it they told me that the housekeeping service was finished for the day and it would only get done the next day. They did bring clean towels and toilet paper for us but this was not a good way to run a hotel. They tried to suggest that I had put a 'Do not disturb' sign on the door which was not the case. The hotel is generally supurb value for money. It is very new and clean. The staff are (mostly) very helpful and the rooms are large with lovely bathrooms with baths and soap, shower gel etc. The beds are a bit hard and the pillows too soft but it's still much better than most hotels I've stayed in. The breakfast is not great but perfectly acceptable […] for the price. There is a supermarket next door which is very good and useful if you have young children. The railway station is about a 10 minute walk away and trains run to Barcelona quite regularly and take about 20 minutes. However it is probably worth mentioning that if you have a pushchair you will need to do a lot of carrying it up and down stairs at many of the stations as they only have a few lifts here and there and just because they have one going up, don't assume there is also one going down!!! Also worth mentioning is that the town of Molins is relatively dead with few restaurants open early in the evening, so again, if you have young children, be prepared to use the supermarket or order a pizza from the hotel - they are supurb! We got ripped off by the taxi on the way back to the airport so I would suggest that you get a price from the desk when ordering the taxi at the hotel to ensure that doesn't happen. Overall though I would definitely recommend this hotel and will go back again if lucky enough to return to Barcelona. Read more
