The owner is extremely friendly and helpful. We did not know the area and he gave us excellent directions as we were leaving for our next destination. The breakfast was quite adequate. We would stay there again if ever in the area.

For more than a century, P-Town has been a bohemian haven. Each summer crowds flock to town for raucous times including a week-long carnival in August. Galleries, bookstores, antique shops, and kitschy boutiques line Commercial Street, the three-mile main thoroughfare. Panoramic views are enjoyed from the top of the 252-foot Pilgrim Monument. The room was adequate with exactly what was needed. There were DVDs and cable available as well. In the summer this would be an ideal place to stay since it is right in town but off an alley so it would be quieter. There was coffee in the morning and no breakfast since it was winter. A few restaurants were open and there was much peace and quiet. This was a last minute find for us and we were very pleased. It should be noted that this is a guest house, not a hotel, so you can expect to share a (clean and close-to-room) bathroom, but rooms are private and comfortable with sink, TV, and mini fridge. The location is absolutely central, too.

Friendly hotel-manager, room was very small, also hotel itself, I hardly couldn't find it. Prize too high for a room without private bathroom. Complimentary bike for the whole stay, which was appreciated. You don't have to be gay to stay at this house, but it helps. Traveling as a single woman, I felt somehow strange in this hotel (and in town).

Response by Moffett House Inn You selected and booked a room for one person – a “single” type room – this room is our least expensive, smallest type room in the house. Our rooms vary a fair amount. We have rooms with private bathrooms, rooms with shared bathrooms and rooms that will accommodate up to 3 people. Most of our rooms that don’t have their own bathroom in them do have a sink in the room. There are photos of all of our rooms with room detail on our website in the rooms and rates section. I guarantee you received the lowest rate for a room for your travel date in the center of town.

This beautiful old New England home is right in the center of town and close to all the action in Provincetown. Yet, you'll feel tucked away in a quiet corner when you want to rest up for more fun. Clean, pretty, convenient... The hosts were WONDERFUL!! I will definitely be back. Thanks guys!

This was such a pleasant stay! Staff were friendly and helpful. Location could not be beat! Choosing a room w shared bath was a very affordable option. Bathrooms were clean and sharing was not an issue at all. Overall we loved our stay. Most affordable in Provincetown and so great!!

I was pleasantly surprised by this little gem of a guest house. Within minutes of booking through this site I was called by the owner Russ to welcome me and offer directions to the place (it is tucked away down a laneway just behind the main street making it quiet but more than close enough to the action). Upon my arrival I was welcomed by the Assistant […] Innkeeper Todd who I found in the kitchen baking. Moffett House is the friendliest and most relaxed and welcoming of places I have ever stayed in. They even supplied free bikes to the guests to explore the town. I used the opportunity to ride out to Beech Forest, where the beach and sand dunes meet the forest. I highly recommend this place and would have stayed longer than the two nights. I hope to get back there one day soon. Read more

Moffett House Inn is a small, very-well run B&B right in the center of Provincetown, convenient to MacMillan Pier and the many local shops, galleries and restaurants. The staff is welcoming and helpful. Coffee and orange juice are served in the morning. The Inn itself is an old Provincetown house from the 1800's that has been renovated with period details […] such as beautiful old wood beams. Perfect for couples or a single traveler. The rooms are small but nice, each with mini-fridges, and the upstairs rooms have skylights. The stairway to the second floor is steep but has very solid wood handrails. The staff was very friendly and the location was perfect. We were able to walk to everything. It is almost off season but stores and restaurants were open so we had a great time. Would definitely recommend.

The hotel is very centrally located yet very quiet. Our room had a shared bath which explains the cheap price. The owners are very kind and accomodating, they made sure our stay would be perfect. The room was very very tiny, however.

To clarify we have 10 rooms in the house – 3 of our rooms have their own private bathroom. 7 of them have shared bathrooms. Most of our rooms with shared bathrooms do have their own sink in the room. We took the ferry and walked over, (with luggage -- we came from the west coast so we had large pieces too), so we had no need to rent a car. It's within walking distance of everything. Based on the price, it exceeded our expectations. Seconds from the heart of downtown, yet very secluded, private and comfortable. Our hosts were extremely hospitable and accomodating. Free bikes were a bonus. We look forward to returning!

This place was definitely a great value. No bathroom in room but there was a sink with a mirror so bathroom was usually empty. Bed was extremely comfortable and room was cozy. Very attentive and friendly service from reservation to check-out. Used the complimentary bikes for a jaunt around the P-Town dunes. Location can't be beat and the value for the price is wonderful. Would highly recommend - only reason would not is would not want it to be full next time we plan to visit.

First, I have to stay that it was quite a decent place to spend the night in - nothing was horribly wrong and other people may have different experiences. That said, the experience was strange. It was kind of like crashing at the house of someone you barely know and who's not even there. After I booked the room, I got a call from the owner asking when […] I was planning to arrive. The owner then told me the room number and where to find the key. He also offered me a parking space for extra charge, which I declined. I was able to find a street parking spot a couple of blocks from the house, but I suspect it's harder during vacation season. I arrived, found the keys, spent the night and left, all without seeing anyone working there. I met a few of other residents, who were very nice and told me where to find the internet password, the dishes in the kitchen, etc. The room itself was quite clean, although not very comfortable. The furniture was old, and the refrigerator was really loud. It really felt more like a guest bedroom in a house of college students than a hotel. In the end, this B&B was not a bad place to spend a night in, but it did not measure up to other hotels I stayed in on the trip for similar prices. Read more

Response by Moffett House Inn We always inform our guests of our late night check-in policy when they are arriving during evening hours. Our policy for week night mid-season check-ins is as follows: Check ins after 11pm are self check-in as our office on week nights in mid May closes at 10pm. We are a 10 room Inn and this is standard procedure mid-season in Provincetown for a week night stay. All of our guests receive a detailed confirmation including directions within 24 hours of when a reservation is made. To clarify most of the furniture in room #8 is less than one year old and is in excellent condition. There are photos with room detail of all of our rooms in the ROOMS & RATES section of our website.

Response by Moffett House Inn To be honest I find it to be unfair that we received a low rating from you because you did not understand the difference between a double size bed and a queen size bed, and therefore you booked the wrong kind of room for your needs. Our rooms vary a fair amount – some rooms have double size beds, some rooms have queen size beds and some of our rooms have 2 beds in them. There are photos including room detail of all of our rooms on our website in the rooms & rates section. The room that you stayed in has the original wood plank floors from 1860. I guarantee you the floor was very clean upon your arrival. However, the coloration and uneven depth of the flooring can be misleading.
