The drive up to Erice is breathtaking and more than a little hairy, but the signage for La Pineda is excellent. There were only a few of us in the hotel (or in town for that matter) this week. The hotel was […] convenient for walking around town which we did both in the afternoon of our arrival and the following morning -- be aware that in November the castle is only open by appointment (24 hours in advance) on weekdays. The room was clean and bed firm. The bathroom was small; the shower minuscule; and then there was the small matter of the lizard in the bidet! -- I granbed him in a towel and threw him outside. I loved La Pineta! The rustic, no-frills cabins with stairs in between may not be for everyone, but it was exactly what I wanted. The grounds and the view were amazing and the staff was very helpful and kind. (Knowing we were getting up early on our last day to go to the airport, they packed us a nice breakfast the night before!) The location of the […] cabins are a short and beautiful walk to the main part of the town and there is ample room (for Italy) to park a rental car. An amazing view and location, on the side of the incredibly steep mountain on which Erice sits. Free parking. Excellent location! The hotel is a series of lovely small stone buildings, each housing one or two rooms, along the mountain. Everything is gorgeous, including the large terrace. Free wifi. A terrific find.

This hotel was picturesque on the backside of the Erice mountain. All the rooms are stand alone cottages in a forest setting with cobblestone walkways. It is in the quiet part of town, far from the tour bus drop off point. It is within walking distance of the whole town and is well maintained and very charming. What an incredible place! The hotel is located in Erice, Sicily which is also mystical and magical. The staff couldn't be more helpful. Dinner was excellent in the on-site restaurant. There are certainly advantages to staying at this hotel, the location is very convenient, the view is spectacular. The rooms are all self contained chalets. We stayed in September, so the temperature had dropped and our room was damp and a little cold. The bedsheets and pillow cases also felt damp and we could not open our window, so we had no natural […] light entering and couldn't air out the room. It was staying in a cave. The breakfast, like most hotels in Sicily was poor. I would not rule out staying here again, but it would not be my first choice. Read more

An excellent place to stay one or two nites in October-November .... The view is SUPER.. you are at 2400 feet... Inconvenience ... you loose 1/2 hour to go up and another 1/2 hour to go down .... and we had fog in the morning difficul to leave the place... On our third day we had to leave early to drive back to Italy mainland, thus crossing Sicily, […] I drove at 5km/hour to go down about 600 feet and get out of the FOG ... The chalet was very in a very worn condition, especially pronounced in an out-of-season stay. Heating completely ineffective, even with extra fan heater supplied. Shower cubicle leaked and much of bathroom floor became wet and slippery. Very poorly equipped and certainly not worth the money. Star rating over stated. I could not believe my eyes when I was taken to my room. Fantastic cabin, fantastic location. The individual stone cabins are great, high ceilings own bathroom which is well fitted and individual air conditioning (working, unlike many hotels who turn them off too early). You have your own patio area outside and the views are stunning. The only problem […] we had was the water ran out after one shower, the hot water tank in the bathroom is small, so you need to plan your showers and allow time for it to heat up again. Vi hade tyvärr otur o berget var inbakad i dimma när vi var där så kunde inte njuta av utsikten som jag vet sedan tidigare besök är fantastisk (dock aldrig bott på hotellet tidigare). Det antika Erice ligger på 700 meters höjd, vilket betyder att det i början på oktober är ganska kallt 16-17 grader. Dessutom väldigt dimmigt på morgonen och fuktigt på rummet. Hotellanläggningen bestod av 30-40 stenhus och ganska oländigt att ta sig till de olika husen. Bra frukost i alla fall.

Hotelli oli puhdas ja ilmastointi toimi. Erinomainen sijainti Ericessä, upeat näkymät hotellin ikkunasta ja pihalta yli Välimeren. Hotellin aamiainen oli myös todella hyvä, harvinaista Italiassa! Kuitenkin hotellin ravintola oli muuten kehno ja palvelu heikkoa.

Hotellets läge är bra och sängarna OK, Frukosten pover. Tyvärr måste vi säga att huset vi bodde i kändes fuktigt med viss mögel i hörn troligen beroende på att det omgavs av mycket växtlighet så att solen inte kunde komma åt och torka upp byggnaden.

Flyet vårt var forsinket og vi kom ikke til hotellet før kl. 01.30 på natten. De holdt oppe bare for oss og var kjempehyggelige ved ankomst. Utsikten ned i dalen slo oss med en gang - fanastisk. Store, rene, oppvarmede (var der i okt og det var lett kjølig på natten men varmen kunne enkelt slås av) rom ventet i kjempekoselige stenhytter. Dagen derpå […] var personalet igjen utrolig serviceminded og imøtekommende og hjalp oss med alt vi lurte på. Vi var der bare en dag før vi dro videre til Palermo, og Erice er en herlig liten fjellandsby med en fantastisk utsikt, men for oss passet det med endagsopphold her - endel turister selv i okt. Hvis man tar turen innom erice, anbefaler vi La Pineta på det sterkeste. Read more

Vi hade en fantastisk vistelse i Erice. Varje rum är ett eget litet hus eller parhus. Jag tror alla rum har en privat uteplats. Om man har tur så får man något av rummen högre upp och då har man en fantastisk utsikt från terassen. I övrigt så var hotellet rent och fräscht och personalen hjälpsam. Sängarna var sådär lagomt hårda som de brukar vara på […] hotell i den här prisklassen. Hotellet har en egen parkering och det tror jag inte många hotell har där uppe. Gatorna i Erice är väldigt trånga men eftersom det här hotellet ligger i ytterkanten så behövde man inte köra in på de trängsta gatorna. Ett tips till de som ska köra upp är att ta rätt väg upp längs berget. Vi använde oss av GPS:en på Iphone och den ledde oss till en riktigt liten slingrig väg. På vissa ställen hade en bit av vägen rasat så att bara ett körfält gick att köra på. En kurva var så skarp att man var tvungen att backa för att komma runt den. Om ni inte vill ha onödigt mycket äventyr så ta den vägen som börjar på samma ställe där linbanan startar. Då kommer ni komma rätt. Om ni stannar en natt i Erice så se till att pallra er upp tidigt på morgonen och titta på soluppgången. Dimman som väller ned för berget tillsammans utsikten och den glödande horisonten var ett makalöst skådespel. Read more

Lorsque nous sommes arrivés, la receptionniste nous a indiqué que la chambre quadruple réservée n'etait pas disponible et qu'elle nous placait dans une chambre triple et une chambre single . Vu l'age de nos enfants nous n'avons pas accepté car les chambres sont dans des bungalows isolés les uns des autres. De plus une forte odeur de moisi régnait dans […] les chambres. Nous avons dormi à 4 dans une chambre triple et passés la plus mauvaise nuit de notre séjour. Au moment de payer , aucun mot d'excuse et bien sûr aucune proposition commerciale.
