The room was nice enough, but the bed was low to the floor and should have been replaced years ago. The towels are small and similar in feel to sand paper....fairly soft sand paper. Great location. Toilet didn't flush well. Second time we stayed there....probably the last. But close to the arena where we were going. Oh, and they picked Friday late afternoon to re-boot the room key entry system...so we waited outside the room until they came to open the door. It worked after that. Should have had tissues in the room. The room was big....staff was very nice.

I could nitpick about our room (it was over the kitchen...a little noisy), but they got us in on less than a minute's notice when our first, supposedly... great, hotel turned out to be a nightmare. I doubt there was much else available. This is one of the loveliest B&Bs we've stayed in. It's set off the road, so it's quiet. You eat breakfast looking at the mountains, and, although it's Continental, the pastries are outstanding. If you have to have eggs, order them. The view was nourishing enough for us. The wonderful staff knows every good restaurant, hiking trail. We were too full for dinner, but we've eaten there before. Food is fabulous. by Carol from DC on 04/02/13

Shenandoah National Park's Skyline Drive runs into scenic Blue Ridge Parkway at the Rockfish Gap Entrance. McCormick Gap and its Overlook sit a few miles past the entrance station, and the overlook offers views of the valley and Waynesboro, located just west of the park. Buyer Beware! This perfectly lovely B & B needs serious help with customer service and attitude. One or two food staff were charming, but the morning lady was horrid. The receptionists were also uneven, busier with computers than guests, and lacking in any notion of warmth or hospitality. Never again!

The service provided by the hotel staff could not be better. It was truly amazing. We loved our room in the Shenandoah Accommodations (Cismont Suite). That building is super cute with views of the lake and privacy but still close to the main building. We loved the fact that we kept getting unexpected treats like the wine, fruit, water, truffles, afternoon […] tea, cookies during checkout (DELICIOUS), etc. The only thing we did not absolutely love was the meal we had on Valentine's evening. It was a specific menu for that evening. We weren't excited about most of the choices and then we were less excited about the food itself. We arrived and discovered we had been upgraded to the 'cottage'. We have traveled throughout Great Britain and this was by far the most quaint and beautiful accommodations we have ever stayed at. The outdoor pool is in a secluded, natural setting...very nice. The food is 5 star plus. Very close to Thomas Jefferson's Monticello.

Rooms were unique, clean and comfortable, staff was very attentive, and the grounds were beautiful and relaxing. Close to Charlottesville, but it feels like the city is many miles away. Very peaceful and relaxing. Recommended.

Very quaint Inn. Full bar and restaurant availabe as well. I was a little concerned that the room would be too small, but, was happily surprised that it was roomy enough for two. My only complaint was the service fee of $27.30 per night.
