Great place to stay rooms were spacious and very clean. The staff was extremely helpful. Two blocks to the center of town and the beach definitely very convenient with great shops and restaurants on the strip.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Horrible staff, disrespectful and lazy"
This hotel doesn't deserve to have even 2 stars. AC didn't work ( temperature in my room was over 30 degrees Celsius), something leaked in our room and ruined our clothes and some guests next door were drinking and fighting at 1AM when I asked the manager to do something about it he said that everything is ok and looked at me like I have too high expectations. […] It was so bad and so scary that I decided to call carabinieri. If you want enjoy that region, please stay away from this hotel Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice hotel, friendly staff, clean"
Nice hotel situated in the middle of the city. Staff was friendly and helpful. Room was nice and very clean.Genuine Expedia guest review
Our stay at the Villa Romana was very pleasant. Everyone was very nice and helpful. The hotel itself is simple, charming and comfortable. However, anything going on around your room, sound travels. So it can be noisy if there are inconsiderate guests. I was disappointed in the the free breakfast. But since it was "free", maybe that is not an issue at […] all. We loved our stay in this charming town and hotel and would love to go back. We are easy to please. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
This hotel was great, very comfortable and clean, yummy breakfast and reception was very accommodating. It was only a 2 minute walk to the beach in the small town of Minori. Most of reception speaks good English and is happy to help. Nice pool. Only problem was parking was expensive (20 euro) due to limited space but it comes with valet service. "Beautifully maintained and great value"
Definitely the best choice if you are staying in Minori. Rooms are immaculate, pool is nice, and location is good for short walk to beach or for exploring other towns on the coast where hotels are more expensive. Minori was a pleasant surprise too! Small and relatively quiet but enough going on to be interesting. Close enough to Ravello and Maiori […] too. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Lovely hotel, in quiet town of Minori"
Very clean room, superb breakfast buffet with different food each morning. Usual selection of meat/cheese, bread, pastries and cereal, and strawberries made a guest appearance on one day! Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. Parking on the Amalfi Coast is difficult, so I booked a parking space at the hotel. They parked the car for me after each […] use, and held the keys at reception which was a nice touch. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Great location for a break on the Amalfi coast."
Rooms are fairly small but have everything you need, including a decent-sized balcony and mini-bar. Get to know your air con controls; the road noise at the front continues into the early hours so you'll need to shut the balcony doors. Spotless swimming pool with free sun-loungers. Buffet-style breakfast is fine and plentiful with a wide selection, […] but don't expect a "full english" (kidney beans with raw onions anyone?). Coffee and juices from the free vending machine are truly terrible but they give you a great excuse to stop at Gambardella's opposite for a proper Italian coffee (& pastry) on your way to the beach. The Villa Romana staff really make the place. Nothing is too much trouble and you are always greeted with a smile! Would recommend you stay for B&B only so you can sample the Minori restaurants; take-away pizza from Altamarea and ice-cream from Sal de Riso... Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"APPEARANCES ARE DECEIVING"
08/25/14 GREEKFAMILYTRAVELLER Athens, Greece
Our family stayed at this hotel for two days mid of August The reservation was done by travel agent who asked for quadraple room and the hotel responded reserving a family room The hotel is a four star hotel at Minori costeria Amalfitana/Campania Italy We arrived the hotel at night and was given a room rather a comfortable double than a quadraple room,no more of 20 sq metres. The room had no balcony, and when you open the window you faced a dirty wall at a distance of two metres. On the roof of the room was a big hole 40x50 cm due to repairs on the air conditioning system as we were told and which was fixed within two hours. The room was so small that you had to remove the third bed to open the closet and the other bed was in front of the window making the use of it difficult. We asked the immediate change of the room because that was not a family room nor a four star ratted hotel room. The youn lady in the reception desk responted ''that is our family rooms,''we dont available rooms for today, tommorow we can see it''and another older lady said''the fault is your travel agant'' The other day i found through the hotel's web side that there were available double rooms and asked the lady to change the room we were given with two doublesbut they refused unless we payed 80 euros The hotel was clean and had cofmortable public spaces The big surprise was at the breakfast. The coffe served-from an automatic machine-was by far the worst i've ever tasted. The cold antipasti -ham etc-were of a low quality and the staff was looking to us because we preffered to have breakfast at 9;45 and they stopped serving at 10.(Minori is a touristic/vacation place, and when you are on vacations you want to wake up and so having breakfast later). As a conclucion we were not treated for what we asked and paid for Never been there again P.S. They did not charged for the private parking E.E Family from GREECE
"Super service in the restaurant at Villa Romana Minori"
08/19/14 Annette K Stockholm, Sweden
We`ve just returned from our summe holiday in Minori and our stay at Villa Romana. Since our visit 3 years ago everything was just better, the room was new renovated and our room was more than nice, a romantic style and clean and a perfect balcony towards the poolarea and the mountain. The breakfast and dinner were absolutely in our taste perfect and then add the super service from the staff working there, Dominique, Maurius and Tina.We will recommend this hotel to everyone thinking of going to Minori.
"Relaxing stay - good location"
08/15/14 Des H Enfield, England, United Kingdom
Minori is a small and fairly quiet town, as others here mention; but that suited us fine. We were a family group of 2 adults and 2 older children staying on a half-board basis. We were able to visit local towns easily by bus; and the roman ruins of Pompeii and Herculaneum by hiring a taxi for the day - which was better value than it might sound, compared with organised package tour days. We enjoyed staying in our quiet hideaway, compared to what we saw of the busier tourist towns we visited. There's not a wide choice of eateries in Minori; but just about enough for the days when we didn't travel. The Villa Romana is a mid-sized hotel in a quiet location, importantly tucked away from the main coastal road but just a very short walk from the water front. The staff were extraordinarily friendly and helpful (especially the excellent, attentive, restaurant waiting staff - head waiter Domenico and his team of Mauricio and Tina - and Roberta and others at the front desk). All had plenty of good English and ready humour. The restaurant menu was not exciting; but it got us through our week without too much trouble and could be tweaked on request. Mauricio's sometimes eclectic wine recommendations were an added bonus. Our drinks bill for the week was modest. The pool was a regular spot for us; and a very welcome retreat. Although tucked into a limited space (originally a concern, when checking out the hotel photos before our visit) we found it adequate for the demands placed on it by the hotel guests. Our two rooms were clean and tidy; and the fridges were essential. We kept these stocked with essential cold drinks, easily sourced from the several small food shops nearby. The tiled hallways make for an echo-y environment at night. There's a long transfer by taxi from the airport at Naples; but the three local drivers we used during our stay were all excellent - especially Alfonso and Salvatore - and always took local road conditions into consideration appropriately. All-in-all, this was an excellent holiday and the hotel contributed to that very positive experience. Two minor negatives were the prevalence of mosquitos after dusk and the mystery of pool towel provision; but there's not much anyone can do about the local wildlife and it could be argued that the erratic towel service added to the idiosyncratic charm of the stay. One highlight was the picturesque walk down the steep and deserted hillside path from Ravello, one late, warm afternoon, through the perfumed, terraced groves. Astounding views and great exercise ahead of a cooling swim in the pool, for those with sturdy feet and ankles. The Villa Romana is highly recommended.
"good hotel, but coach couldn't get to it!"
08/07/14 NZSpursFan Windsor, England
Hotel Villa Romana is a friendly, family-run hotel in Minori, up a steepish hill from the seafront. Our coach couldn't get up the hill, so we had to walk up the hill every day to the hotel and down to the coach for our trips. This was tricky for the less mobile. The hotel is nicely decorated and the food is good, although the choice is limited, especially if you don't like pasta! There is only one lift, which got crowded at mealtimes. The dining hall and bar were nicely decorated and the bar served a good range of drinks, although the bar got raucous one night (make sure you don't have a room over the bar!) The room was good, but the air-con was intermittent--obviously switched on at times convenient to the hotel. I got too hot at night. Minori is a quaint little village with a beautiful church and a roman villa which is being excavated. Pompeii and Vesuvius are within an hour's trip, but the Italian public workers were on strike during our trip, so our Pompeii visit was changed.
"Nice hotel in a very nice town"
08/05/14 CKJ5766 Dubai, United Arab Emirates
Villa Romana is a bright and cheerful hotel in the nice little town of Minori. It is conveniently located, just a few minutes walk from the Ferry Station or the Bus Stop. The room was just adequate in size for us. The breakfast was decent and the Head Waiter (Dominic) was a courteous gentleman who took good care of the guests. I would recommend staying at this hotel in Minori as opposed to staying in Amalfi itself. The town is quiet and walks into the countryside from Minori were enjoyable. On one occasion we actually walked from Amalfi to Minori - took about 45 mins - which was so picturesque and enjoyable. It is recommended that you enjoy the views by taking the bus from Amalfi to Sorrento and back - it is simply a breathtaking drive.

We have just stayed here on a mini break for our 30th Wedding Anniversary. A fantastic hotel in a lovely quiet street. The best Hotel in the area I would say and worthy of its 4 stars. We were looked after so well while we were there. The Head Waiter makes sure everyone is looked after. The food was excellent and the staff very helpful. We would definitely return
"Not to be recommended"
07/31/14 anniemacfarlane London, United Kingdom
I stayed at this hotel last year, and couldn't agree more with the comments made that it's quite depressing. I am a single traveller and was with a tour group - my room was like a broom cupboard, nowhere to sit, just a bed, wardrobe and couple of drawers. The window shutters were closed because the window looked out onto next door's wall therefore there was no natural daylight at all. The air conditioning had seen better days and the room was very noisy from the street outside, voices seemed to echo, and the motorcycles were going up and down all day well into the night. I didn't hang about in the morning, showered, dressed and out! The food was mediocre, not what I was expecting of Italian food at all. As I was with a group we were told that we HAD TO be in the dining room at 7.30 every evening for dinner, otherwise everyone would have to wait for the person who was late. I've never heard anything like it and have been on many of these tours all over the world. That wasn't good. Some of the staff were ok but some were very offhand and I noticed a bit confrontational with some of the guests. I voiced my feelings about the room as soon as I arrived but was told there was no other available, the girl on reception wasn't at all interested in so I just had to get on with it. I didn't feel the room was particularly clean either, wondered how often the bedspread was washed but tried not to think about it! I loved Minori, would definitely like to return but would not stay at this hotel again. I didn't think it was value for money. Thank goodness the weather was great, had it rained there would have been a problem. I do like somewhere to chill out and read if I feel like it but would have been hard pressed to find anywhere at this hotel apart from the pool area. I was so disappointed to find there was no balcony to my room or view of the outside world. I reported my feelings to the tour operator (Travelsphere) but didn't hear any more from them and they are still using this hotel so it must work for them somewhere (price?) but a lot of people on the tour felt the same way that I did.
"What a Fab time in a Great Hotel"
07/30/14 Neil M
We stayed here in June / July 2014. Firstly I would like to say the two girls on reception along with all the others front of house were brilliant. Nothing was too much trouble for them and they made our stay lovely. Our room was great and had a balcony onto the street. It was kept absolutely spotless by our room maid Ivana (Thanks Ivana I know it can't be easy tidying up after 2 boys ) Breakfast was excellent with a wide range of hot & cold foods available along with all the usual drinks. Minori proved to be a super place to base ourselves at in order to visit the great locations along the coast. In short we wouldn't hesitate to stay there again. To everyone at the hotel grazie mille from Neil & Sam

I believe that Minori is the most authentical town at the Amalfi Coast. Here is real life with only few tourists. Booking at the Hotel Villa Romana gives you the feeling to stay with your family. The Reception staff is very kind and helpfull and they will assist you with all kind of transfers and excursions. We´ve stayd at the hotel various times, enjoying the chefs always changing menues. Staying in ½-pension you can choose between various starters, betweens, mains and desserts. Housewines are good and very good at price. I give Hotel Villa Romana my best recommendations Klaus Prüfer/ Denmark
"one of our best vacation"
07/26/14 Kristof1970 Munich, Germany
We had a fantastic time. The hotel is nice, staff is super friendly, food is good. the only problem is the speed of the internet, and the price of the garage. On the other hand, its better to pay 20Er/day, than to park all the way up on the hill, since with out a car one can hardly see all the good parts in this region. Minori is the best location between salerno and sorrento, its both charming and small not so many tourists.
