The Esplendor is a perfect starting point for any traveler or couple coming to BA. It's in the best location of Palermo Soho and it is safe and quiet and the beds are great. The rooms need an upgrade, ours had shelves in the bedroom and bathroom that needed to be fixed up. But they are spacious and provide what you need as a traveller. Front desk is […] helpful and will book reservations for you - but don't count on them as a typical concierge, as they oddly lacked a lot of knowledge about the area. The breakfast is awful - just some bread and bad fruit.. But if you are doing BA right you will sleep through it and go to one of the many great cafes nearby instead...when you wake up at 2pm. We had a very comfortable stay here. Loved the location, the staff was very friendly and most spoke some English which was helpful. We didn't take advantage of the complimentary breakfast except for one morning of our week stay.......it was a bit disappointing. A wonderful wine shop across the street. Overall, a terrific experience.

Would definitely go back to this hotel and highly recommend it. The people were all super friendly and accommodating. This is a small boutique hotel (maybe ~ 50 rooms), and the staff all take a genuine interest in helping. The hotel has a trendy/arty feel, and the rooms are clean, bright and the bed was great. The shower is like those in Europe (only […] 1/2 of the shower is enclosed by the door, so the floor gets wet, but that's no big deal). They have a beautiful rooftop patio where we had drinks one night and breakfast one other morning. Breakfast is somewhat minimal, but I think that's more reflective of Argentina than the hotel. The coffee was good (i.e., strong!) The only thing that would add to my score would be if they supplied a hot pot in the room. I brought Starbucks instants, as I love to wake up and have a coffee, but that wasn't possible here. The Palermo Soho neighborhood is really great - lots of cool bars, cafes and restaurants in easy walking distance from this hotel. Overall, you can't go wrong with this place. Read more

The hotel was perfect for the price. Friendly, helpful staff, nice buffet breakfast, comfy bed, very clean. We walked around the Palermo neighborhood day and night with ease. It was like being in Greenwich Village in New York. Loads of hip people, young and old. Many excellent restaurants and fun cafes in walking distance of the hotel.

Great location in Palermo Soho. Close to great parillas and bars. Extremely clean with a friendly staff. I just used this location for a one night stay on my way to a late night flight to the US. They were more than happy to store my luggage in a secure,locked room so that I could enjoy a day in BA before flying home.

Room was generally clean & bed comfortable,although I did find a spider in the bathtub one morning. This small hotel is in a good neighborhood -convenient to many attractions, and with inexpensive bus or subway transportation only 5 short blocks away.Unfortunately, there is still construction going on next door, with banging and other loud noises weekdays […] from about 8AM to1600 hours. The breakfast area is small and can get crowded.The food selection is poor (little variety), although fresh. I was surprised not to find facial tissues in the room (since most hotels I've stayed in do offer them).The staff, however, was most helpful. The front desk arranged taxis for us when needed, and supplied appropriate maps to help us find our way around the city. The person taking care of breakfast promptly changed the hot water in the serving carafe when advised it was no longer hot enough to brew tea. Please DO NOT BOTHER staying at the Esplendor Palermo Soho for the next YEAR! They just gutted a building next door and the pounding starts every morning at 8AM and ends at 6PM! It sounds like it is coming through the ceiling. Despite complaining to the manager, the only response we received was, ' Yes, it is a problem'. Not once did they offer to transfer […] us to another hotel within their chain and we were not aware that they in fact were part of a chain. The showers were also unacceptable as the glass plate that is supposed to prevent water from getting out of the tub was only half the length of the tub. There was no way to prevent water from covering half the floor on each shower taken. The only positive thing was the quality of the continental breakfast. Read more

First, let me say that the location was great. However everything else was well below what I expected. To begin with, not all of our sheets had been changed on our bed when we got to the room. They had been made up to look like they were clean, however a basic examination showed dirt and plenty of sleep wrinkles that were not present on the other sheets... […] this is hotel 101 guys. Thankfully housekeeping promptly came up and corrected the "error", which is the only thing that kept me from going to another hotel that day. The second major downside of this hotel is the size and overall condition of the room. Its tiny... like european single tiny, and the room was really run down. The walls were scuffed, thick layers of dust everywhere, the bathroom sink shelves were rusted, picture frames were crooked.. the list continues. Esplendor is a beautiful MODERN hotel; Clean and large rooms and very well priced. Breakfast was good. Location is great; Best steakhouses surround this place ie..."la cabrera and Don Julios" , Shopping is amazing just like a nicer NYC SOHO/LES. Not too many tango places around, but only 4 blocks from subway. Nice peaceful retreat from insane streets […] of BA. Good value in an interesting neighborhood--good access to the locations along the river to NE, and to the Palermo Soho shops and restaurants to SW. Taxis always available and cheap. Rooms are comfortable, bathrooms a little small. A young very attentive and helpful staff--multilingual. Recommended highly.

Our primary issue with this hotel was the fact that we could hear the elevator grinding from our room every time someone used it. The beds were terrible, with no fitted sheet or mattress pad so we would wake up with our skin touching bare mattress. There were also no comforters on the beds, just a dirty blanket. Housekeeping was inconsistent.

I really enjoyed staying at Esplendor Palermo and would go back. It is very close to the nice bars and restaurants and the people working there are very nice and helpful. The last day we were they immediately gave us a late check-out when we asked and also called our taxi driver service to pick us up the day after. The only part that I didn't like so […] much was breakfast. Variety was more or less limited, but the real bummer for me was that 15 minutes before closing breakfast time, there was already hardly anything.
