Sanctum International Serviced Apartments - London

A repairman on behalf of the hotel apartment entered my parents' (locked) room and entered the bathroom while my mother was taking a shower at 9:30pm before going to bed. My mother screamed and felt uneasy in the bathroom for the rest of her stay in London. Hotel representatives explained that they had called the room phone and rang the doorbell -- […] because no one answered they assumed they were justified to enter to check whether a leak on the floor below was coming from their bathroom. If you believe that a leak should take priority over the privacy of your wife, daughter or mother when she is in the bathroom, then I would highly recommend this hotel. I booked this hotel based on online reviews -- indeed the room is spacious, the kitchen well-equipped, the location convenient and the guest service -- in general -- is at a four-star hotel standard. However, protocol for guest privacy may be lacking given my mother's traumatic experience. Furthermore, instructions from reception that our complaint should be addressed to the manager by email and the three-day delay in following up with a sincere apology (and as laughable consolation two passes to the fitness room/pool) indicates that Sanctum's standard for guest relations and judgment of the gravity of this invasion of privacy may be different from my own -- I would not recommend this hotel to anyone who would find this incident very disturbing. Overall my experience was good except the surprise of stay was there was no room service available and on questioning it was told that you have to pay 100 pounds extra per day for room cleaning,new towels. Another surprise was a list of inventory with price in pounds given from toiletries to kitchen dishes and guest is responsible for checking inventory […] and if anything is missing then guest will be responsible. When i checked inventory there were many discrepancies which i got it corrected..surprise surprise and I am still waiting for my email for refund of my 200 pounds which they charged on arrival. This hotel was recommended by a friend and I thoroughly enjoyed my stay there. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The apartment was large and provided ample room for 2 people, plus I had one of the apartments that had 2 toilets and bathrooms. We had a two bedroom unit for our family which was well appointed and very comfortable. Gave us the extra room and convenience that two hotel rooms wouldn't have. The hotel support services were minimal (not even a replacement roll of toilet paper), but there are several well stocked convenience stores within a short walk. We discovered the washer/dryer […] in the room did not work just after the close of the workday, but the hotel provided a repairman the next work day and got us going. This is a mixed London neighborhood, not a central tourist location. But there are a nice Tube stop on the Bakerloo Line and a regional train station within a few minutes walk. We found it to be pretty convenient for getting around and enjoyed the diversity of the neighborhood and being outside of the crowded tourist hotels. Read more

It is difficult to find a roomy apartment in London.... except for Sanctum Apartments. Apartments have quite a lot of space and are well layed out .The staff very amenable and helpful . I thought the place was reasonably new because of the excellent condition of the rooms,foyer etc. but was told it was 7 years old so Sanctum is obviously well maintained. […] We satyed there for 18 nights and would do so again without hesitation.Our apt. had seperate lounge and eating area.a small but efficient fully equiped ( except for a sink plug) kitchen with the advantage of a built in washer/dryer. All cooking and crockery requirements.Bathroom is modern and roomy. Bed room with large double and good hanging space. This room had views over Kilburn High Road. There are only a couple of restaurants or pubs in the area but a big Sainsburys and other large chains some 200meters away with a mini Tescos and Starbucks .We usually cooked ourselves or ate out of area.. The bus stop almost outside the building gives access to a No.16 or 98 bus that travels straight down Edgeware Rd to Marble Arch....20 min ride. Tube is in walking distance Read more

Location, size, cleanliness, space, facilities...overall amazing! We went with a group of friends and it was perfect for us. Very reasonable too! Staff couldn't do enough to make stay enjoyable. Apartment was spotless with all mod appliances-including a washing machine/tumble dryer. All modes of public transport nearby not too many black taxi's only mini cabs via hotel- Bakerloo line to Oxford Circus 30 mins. Not too many up market restuarants nearby. Wonderful to arrive after long flight to a spacious and clean hotel in London. We were upgraded to a larger room which was nice. Staff very friendly an helpful. Only downside was that the tube ride to the city was a little far, though hotel was close to the station..

We had a shocker of a flight from Pittsburgh to London with US Airways. Rerouted to old aircraft with cramped seating, poor or dysfunctional facilities, grumpy crew and our luggage failed to arrive. Arriving at the Sanctum was like coming home. Everything we needed and the staff went out of their way to be helpful. I was so grateful to be there.

Ho soggiornato al sanctum con la mia famiglia e la mia ragazza per 3 giorni, l'hotel è in eccellenti condizioni, vicinissimo alla stazione della metro (circa 3-4min a piedi), in una zona ben servita (appena usciti dal sanctum, girate l'angolo e avrete tesco, starbucks ecc) attenzione a non mangiare nei vari ristorantini che trovate sul marciapiede opposto […] a tesco e starbucks in quanto ho mangiato li per tre giorni e ora sono alle prese con una bella intossicazione, del resto si sa che gli inglesi non brillano per igiene. Tornando al sanctum, l'appartamento era enorme, noi eravamo in cinque ma ci si poteva stare anche in 7/8, letti enormi, due bagni grandi. Mancava l'aperitivo di apertura, e non c'è nessun servizio in camera, no puliza della casa, si limitano solo a portare via la spazzatura. Infine le receptionist sono molto rigide e se avete bisogno di qualsiasi cortesia, scordatevela, in quanto sono poco elastiche. Altra pecca è il riscaldamento della camera, va sempre al massimo anche se impostate il termostato a 21/22 gradi, infatti ve ne ritroverete in automatico almeno 27. In conclusione, consiglio questo residence, in quanto ha un ottimo rapporto qualità/prezzo ed è molto vicino alla metro. Read more

Fantastisk leilighet, romslig, pent og rent. Vi var fem personer og hadde leilighet med tre soverom. En veldig bra løsning i stedet for å ha to hotellrom som vi ellers måtte valgt. Velutstyrt leilighet med absolutt alt man kunne trenge. Betjeningen må spesielt nevnes, for de var utrolig hyggelige og serviceinnstilt. Kan absolutt anbefales!

Vi hadde et veldig bra opphold ved Sanctum International. To soverom og kjøkken og stue gjorde at vi hadde bra plass hele familien. Det var nært til Underground og vi hadde Starbucks rett ved siden. Dette er et supert hotell når en reiser sammen med barn da det var stor nok plass for både store og små.

Vi var en familie på fem, 3 soverom, store greie rom, men veldig mørkt, mørke møbler.Grei plass, like ved undergrunnen, kunne ta banen rett til Oxford street. Litt butikker i nærområdet. Ble opplyst at hotellet hadde solarium og svømmebasseng, det viste seg å være i ett treningsstudio rett over gaten.

Hotelets läge är mycket bra och det finns gott om resturanger i närområdet, Bussar,Tunnelbana inom 6 min promenad, Om man använder Gatwick så är det bättre att ta vanliga tåget (8 GBP/1 tim)istället för Express tågen (18 GBP/35 min) till Victoria station+ 35 min i lokalbuss. Dette leilighetshotellet var en positiv opplevelse fra start til slutt.. Bygget var moderne, og den lille resepsjonen hadde hyggelig personale som var tilgjengelig hele dagen og kvelden. Muligens også om natten, det vet jeg ikke. Vi var fem i reisefølget. 2 voksne, 1 tenåring og to barn. Rommet vårt var av typen "luksusleilighet" med 4 senger og kjøkken. […] Den holdt svært god standard, og var praktisk innredet med et foreldresoverom men tilhørende bad, og et mellomstort soverom med en smalere dobbelseng (ca.140cm). Det var også et bad i gangen. Stuen var stor, med 42" flatskjerm og spiseplass for 4. Kjøkkenet var både moderne, rent og praktisk. Det eneste vi hadde å utsette på leiligheten var at komfyren var litt vanskelig å betjene, med litt gammeldagse kjeramiske plater som ikke hadde tall eller noen annen form for indikator på hvor mye man hadde skrudd den på. Det var dessuten bare håndkleskift annenhver dag, så det er lurt å være obs på dette med en gang slik at man passer på å holde orden på håndklærene. Ekstrasengen vi fikk til den 5. personen var ikke god å ligge på, men vi la rett og slett madrassen på gulvet og ba om å få en ekstra madrass. Det var de behjelpelig med, og da fungerte det helt fint for barna. Hotellet lå sentralt til, ca 5 min gange til Bakerloo line (Metro), og det er viktig å merke seg at nærmeste stopp på metroen er KILBURN PARK(!). Vi brente oss på dette, for det er 3 forskjellige stopp som heter noe lignende, og endte opp 20 minutters gange fra hotellet... Lite suksess når du ankommer med mye bagasje og er sliten etter reisen. Med Bakerloo line tok det vel ca 15 min til Oxford Circus / Picadilly Circus. Det er lite av interesse i nærområdet til hotellet, og nærmer man seg Kilburn HighRoad er det egentlig litt slummete med masse små rare sjapper og heller dårlig stilte mennesker i gaten.
