Hotel Eden - Sorrento

The hotel is conveniently located just few blocks from the train station and Piazza Tazzo, rooms looked to be recently renovated as the white furniture seems in very good condition. Balconies are lovely and a very nice way to just relax and take in the beauty of Sorrento

This was one of many hotels we stayed in during our 5 1/2 week vacation.It was the only one to charge for wifi. It was the only one with thread bare towels, no bath mat. Very convenient location to train station, but one of the best parts of the hotel was the friendly service we received from Luigi at the front desk. Our luggage was lost for 3 days and he helped us make phone calls to the airline to retrieve our luggage. He was super friendly and helpful.

The hotel is located near the train station so it was an easy walk. We had an upgraded room, and the 4th floor had a nice view of the water. The breakfast bar was well stocked. But even though our room was not directly on the street, it was very noisy. The pipes (water?) rattled throughout the night and the bed was very firm. I woke up with a headache […] from being awakened so many times during the night. Although it was ok for a one-night stay, I'd upgrade to a nicer waterfront hotel if staying longer in Sorrento. The hotel's own website seems to understate its excellent location, as it has an opening into the main street of Sorrento just a short walk from the main square. It is within walking distance of the scenic old mill, the train station, the marina (with its outstanding seafood restaurants) and its stunning views of the bay of Naples and the hillside villas […] and hotels of Sorrento. The staff was very accommodating to our special needs, allowing us to leave our luggage and to use its restroom facilities even after we had checked out. Also, the price of the rooms was reasonable. Our party did not take the advice of the female night clerk who recommended that we eat at the restaurant next door; instead, we ate at Ristorante Delfino at the marina (which I also highly recommend). The location was ideal --short walk to the harbor to catch ferries to Naples and Capri, short walk to train station, 1 minute walk to Pizza Tasso and all of the restaurants, shops, cafes and sights. Upon our arrival we were put into room #66 and was told it was on the first floor. After getting off the elevator on the 1st floor, we then carried our luggage UP 5 flights of stairs (I guess they meant...the 1st floor from the top). The room looked like something for the help..It was horrible. The next day they put us into a much better room which […] ended up with ants in the shower area. comfortable. The beds were bad and they put us on an annex on 4th floor with no elevator. There was a good view and a sunporch, but room needed updating. A/C worked fine, but moldy shower. Maybe the regular rooms are better. Internet is $5/hr. Was a 5 min. walk to train station and downtown. Pool was in good shape.

Excellent location, heart of Sorrento. Close to shopping, and restaurants. This is a great jumping spot to get to Capri and Amalfi, and Pompeii/Mount Vesuvius. The only drawback is you have to pay for internet and this can only be used in the lobby. Air conditioning did not work at first, but after a call to the desk, it was repaired and worked wonderfully. […] The free breakfast was good by Italian standards. The pool was pretty much useless because of the hours it is available. It closes at 6 pm. It would have been nice to sit by the pool after dinner or returning from tours to Capri and Pompeii. This hotel turned out to be a great place to stay but the room assigned at first was terrible. It had no view and smelled of smoke. The second room's view was of pipes and wires of a dismal inner courtyard. I rejected that room. I was about to seek lodging elsewhere but they insisted I see another room. This was a real winner with new fixtures, fresh […] paint and a delightful view of the Bay of Naples and Vesuvius. The people here really aimed to please after the initial false steps. They directed us to medical help, an english bookstore and left us alone when my husband needed to sleep all day. the hotel is clean and comfortable. we loved the daily breakfast and the perfect location of the hotel to the center of the town-(a secret walkway and you're suddenly in the middle of town!). we enjoyed the pool immensely and the front desk staff was beyond helpful and courteous. the person who really shone was a gentleman named "luigi". he was everywhere […] and always there to assist us. he took the keys to our car upon arrival and parked it for us. he would help us get our car out if it was a tight fit, and he was always there to tell us how to get down to the marina to go to capri or to start the drive to the amalfi coast. he helped us access the internet and really made our stay there memorable. when i return to this beautiful part of the world, i won't stay anywhere else-and i hope that luigi and the rest of that nice staff will be there. thank you, luigi and company!! We turned up to find a fairly nice looking hotel, marble floors, nice reception area etc. However, when we got to our room (which my bf and I labelled the 'slave quarters' as it seemed to be in a separate part of the hotel) we were very disappointed. As a 3* hotel you expect a reasonably nice room and bathroom but the shelves in the bedroom were falling […] off, there were no plug sockets and the furniture was not very nice at all. The bathroom had stiff and rusty taps in what looked like an old disused jacuzzi bath. Although to be fair, the shower worked well. If this was a 2* hotel we maybe would have been fine, but we had paid a lot of money for our room so was quite disappointed, especially when we saw a peek of other guest rooms that had nicer, newer furniture, a proper shower and a balcony. If we were staying in those we would have been happy! Although, the breakfast wasn't the best (powdered scrambled egg and tinned fruit salad), but that was low on our list of priorities. Read more

The hotel is in a great central location. The rooms are basic (hard bed) as is the breakfast (good scrambled eggs and croissants though!) but for the money, location and pool I would definitely recommend. Had a great view and was an excellent base to explore beautiful Sorrento. We also had a lovely lunch at the attached restaurant too.

After reading a few review I was expecting the worst and preparing my family for a hotel that was going to be the worst stay of our two week trip throughout Italy. Well it was amazing, I was so surprised at the friendliness of Luigi at the front desk. The pool was amazing. The price you can't go wrong. The restaurant was great service and excellent […] food. The nightlife is very relaxed and there are plenty of spaces to sit and have a glass of wine if your balcony is not where you want to be. The main piazza is literally steps away. Location is amazing! The room is not a five star room however if you come to Sorrento to stay in the room then you are missing out. The beds are comfortable, my kids had fun at the pool and the front desk staff was more than helpful and friendly. I would highly recommend Hotel Eden, just be open minded and don't knit-pick, enjoy the city and the hotel and stay in your room to sleep.
