this was our second time staying at this hotel. The only downfall for us is no bathtubs here only showers. Tough when you have a 3 year old but we make do. The staff is very friendly and the hotel is clean. The breakfast is your average free breakfast but it is close to a ton of restaurants if you should choose to go elsewhere. For starters, the gentleman at the front desk absolutely made my evening with a genuinely warm welcome and pleasant conversation, a rarity in these days of canned smiles and phrases that you just know are out of some SOP binder passed down from Corporate. He also was sure not to mention my room number out loud when I checked in – it’s surprising how […] many front desk staffers don't know this simple safety precaution. 2nd - the hotel was impeccably clean, including my room. The rooms have a “Euro” feel to them and it's a great layout, with a mini-suite separated from the bed area by sliding translucent panels that can be opened or shut. Rooms have microwaves & fridges, & front desk area has a selection of food items ranging from "TV dinners" to ice cream that can be purchased for in-room use. Shower had great pressure, another big plus for me, & toiletries and towels were of good quality. The _only_ minor drawback of the room layout (king room) is that the bed had a line-of-sight to the door, so some light pollution from the hall crept in. I could have remedied that easily with a towel had I really needed it to be darker, but it's something to be aware of if you are someone who needs a less open layout to the room. All in all, I would go out of my way to stay in this hotel again if I were to stay in Albany again, and that says a lot because I'm not particularly brand-loyal about hotels, mostly price-conscious. We were very impressed with our stay. The room was spacious and clean and the staff was exceptional. The breakfast was beyond our expectations. Did not seem like the best neighborhood but did not effect our visit. Would definitely stay there again if in the area.

My husband, son and I were in town visiting my husbands family for a late holiday celebration. Conveniently located and easy to find, we enjoyed our stay. The staff was friendly and quick to help when we requested extra pillows. We have stayed in many hotels when we visit and this was a good fit for us. We've stayed here before, when visiting friends in Albany. This time we got a king suite for me and my husband and 2 young kids. Everything was generally very nice. However at midnight when my husband had to use the bathroom, I was awoken by light shining in my eyes. Naturally I first thought it was that he turned on the light with the door open. BUt […] no, it was the fact that the bathroom has a clear glass panel for a door. So when anyone turns on the light, it shines around the room. I mentioned it to the front desk staff in the AM, who admitted it was a design flaw. We must have stayed in a different type of room in the past, perhaps the queen suite, b/c the staff said all the king suites have those doors. Anyway, light issue aside, we had a nice stay. The room was clean, staff was helpful, pool is tiny but my 7 y.o. didn't care. The breakfast was fine. Service and location were great! The only down fall was the pool. I chose this hotel because of the indoor pool and it was much smaller than pictures depict and it was very cold. After a while the kids didn't mind too much but they certainly didn't ask to go in more than once. Overall it was a great stay!

This was our first stay at Spring Hill. We use to take Residence Inn all the time but the cost of the hotel invited us in. The Hotel is wonderful and comfortable. Location is so good that all the food chains are very near. Also very approachable for Troy, Albany Downtown, Glenn Falls and Lake George. The Hotel is close to expressway, Starbucks, and restaurants at the mall. The breakfast had nice selection. The area for the breakfast was small for a busy holiday weekend but staff worked hard to keep up. Room was comfortable and nice to have separate sitting area.

Excellent Stay at the Spring Hill. The only reason why I gave the "Condition and Upkeep" category a score of "4" was because the pool was cloudy and it had some dirt on the bottom. Overall, the hotel was clean, the staff was friendly and accommodating, and the room was large and comfortable.

The breakfast area was very busy, and one of the staff noticed I was having a tough time keeping my kids together. This hotel looks nice upon entering and staff were courteous but all positive things ended there. We went to the pool only to discover that there were no towels so we called and had to wait for them for 15 minutes. In the meantime, we tried to get into the water only to discover that it was freezing; it was literally the coldest indoor pool I have ever […] encountered in my life. So we requested that it be heated but were then told that the town ordinance would not let it get any warmer than that. Later that evening we returned to see the remnants of a horrendous car accident that had taken place just minutes before in front of the hotel due to the strange configuration of not being able to go straight across at the intersection there; clearly, there needs to be a traffic light there. Sleep was constantly challenged due to the poor plumbing insulation system as every flush from above sounded like a torrent that was to come through the ceiling. And our bathroom sliding doors were incredibly noisy whenever one needed to go in and out. The next morning we were all ready to go to breakfast at 10:15 am only to discover that the wknd breakfast ends at 10 am, not 11 am like most other hotels. My shower had also been minimal since the water pressure as well as temperature continually fluctuated. We needed to unwind and relax in the pool after a long drive and could not, and then had to spend precious time, gas and money to find a place to have a breakfast the next day. Read more
