There was only one chair and a small table in the room for two on the top floor! No sofa and no second chair although there are plenty of rooms for those. The low and slanted ceiling can hit you anytime you walk around to one side of the bed. The chair is in the way and it is hard to move the chair out of the way.

Very good hotel, outstanding location and quite. Large comfortable room (Jr. suite), exactly what we booked, with a large bath. We could not get in our room until 3:30 but everything else was perfect. Good breakfast. Very friendly and helpful staff. We would definitely stay at this hotel again.

Hotel Stureplan is a very nice hotel with clean, comfortable rooms. It serves a good breakfast, The staff is polite and helpful. The hotel could use some air conditioning, but I understand that's not customary in Stockholm.

The hotel does not have a drive up entrance, it looks like the entrance to a building, but does have a small red carpet on the sidewalk. There is no lobby to speak of, small reception area and a small sitting area. Wifi worked great here, and the staff were very helpful. The upgraded room that we booked was very small...I know European hotels are small, […] but this is why we upgraded! The beds and linens were great, and our bathroom was modern and spacious. Our friends had a bigger room , but the bathroom was not as nice ( they faced the busy street, we faced the courtyard).The breakfast was good, very satisfying buffet. The location is great- it is on a busy street full of shops and restaurants. We used the underground- it was really easy and helped with distant sights. You can walk to Gamla Stan, and we took the free walking tour ( reserve on line) which met at the checkered square - a 12 minute walk. A shopping hint, I priced some kosta Boda at the store nearby.......in Gamla Stan found a store where I bought the same dish for $5 less, and he gave me 20 % off. The Galleria shopping center is a few steps away....we walked all the way through to the back and out onto another street where we found great shops. Read more

This hotel was lovely and located in a great area, just a few blocks from the waterfront. Plenty of restaurants nearby and very walkable neighborhood to enjoy the old and new architecture. The staff was very helpful and assisted with helping us find a nice restaurant where we could meet friends staying at a nearby hotel. I would stay there again.

It is difficult for a traditional house to get a gut renovation right. Stureplan did an outstanding job. With great attention to every detail they updated the facilities to state of the art and managed to keep the spirit of the house intact. The Hotel Stureplan is an excellent hotel. It is a "boutique" hotel- an older hotel which has been refurbished with modern amenities. The hotel is located in the center of Stockholm, and is very convenient for shopping at downtown stores, and walking to other parts of the city such as Gamla Stan( the old city) and the Palace. The room size is quite […] adequate, and very quiet. The modern bathroom is very clean and the plumbing works very well, unlike our experience in some American hotels. Room cleaning is first rate. There are also spacious well furnished common rooms on most floors. The staff is very friendly and willing to chat about the city and where to visit. They also like to chat about Swedish culture. We loved the breakfast: but it isn't for everyone. If you want eggs over easy with home fries or American cereals, you won't like the breakfast. It is a very filling buffet, with excellent Swedish breads, jams, lox, three types of yogurt, healthy cereals, cold cuts,coffee and tea. You won't be hungry at lunchtime. This type of diet shows why the Swedish people are mostly not overweight. Overall, an excellent hotel without the "attitude" and with very friendly interesting staff. Read more

Fantastic hotel. The location is perfect, a short walk from many attractions and from the ferries at Nybroplan. The rooms are beautiful, with high ceilings and lovely furniture. The included breakfast is the best I've had at any hotel anywhere (and is open until 11am).

The hotel itself is a wonderful combination of historic swedish charm and modern amenities (Wi fi etc...). I loved having this incrediblley huge, "old world" chandelier in the common room above the most comfortable beds, next to a bathroom w modern fixtures. Fabulous! And clean! This hotel is beautiful and the location is great. When we first walked in I wasn't so sure ..the lobby isn't anything fantastic but the room is really really nice. Very boutique-y feeling .. almost feels like you're in a bedroom/bathroom of a house or apartment. Very clean and very comfortable. It's close to a lot of restaurants and bars and everything […] is very walkable from this hotel. The concierge on the other hand was pretty much useless. When we were speaking with him we actually requested to speak to the concierge. To our dismay it ended up being him. When asked for tour/sightseeing ideas we saw him Google it. When the boat tour booth was closed and said to book your tickets through the hotel we walked back and he said he couldn't do it. And when we asked about the red hop on hop off bus he neglected to tell us it didn't run during the week we were in Stockholm. If you want a comfortable space to explore the city on your own this place is awesome (especially for the price when compared to the Grand or Diplomat, etc). But if you're looking for a hotel to make your stay in the city easier and make suggestions/bookings you'd be better off somewhere else. Read more

This hotel about a 100 yards north of the Stureplan "square" which is part of the main business / entertainment area. It is close enough for an easy 2 minute walk to the area but quiet enough to get rest at night. It is 2 KM from the main train station if you walk. The strand and the center of Stockholm are about 1 KM away by foot. The room was comfortable […] and clean. Staff were friendly and accomodating. They even lent me a wall socket adapter for use during my stay without charge. Breakfast buffet was good. This hotel has a lots of charm and are located right in the middle of Stockholm. You can walk everywhere from here or take the Metro which is 200 Meteres away. The breakfast was great but lacks varity if you stay longer (We stayed 6 nights). Overall a good hotel and we would stay there again of we go to Stockholm.

This hotel was my daughter's and my favorite of the four hotels we stayed in during our trip visiting Copenhagen and the hometowns of my grandparents' in Sweden. I stayed at two places in Stockholm - an apartment and this hotel. They were in two different areas. We were very pleased with this hotel. The room is a really good size (we got the one above standard) especially for European rooms. The bathroom is very modern and nice. My mom stayed in a standard room and had a baby cot in the room and still had room […] to move around, so even a standard is a decent size. Some people complained about noise, but with the window shut we didn't hear anything. We went in the summer and there is A/C. We slept very comfortably. Perfect hotel for a quick stay in Stockholm city centre; close to shops/restaurants and public transport. The only criticism I have is that thet breakfast wasn't of the same standard as the rest of the hotel; it was a little bit skimpy and "middle" quality and the rashers/bacon was a bit burnt on one of the morning.

My friend and I stayed at this hotel during the week. It has a very good location just 2 minutes from Galleri Stureplan (shopping) and Sturebadet (gym and spa). Taxis are just outside the hotel. You get discount at Sturebadet if you stay at this hotel. Lots of great shopping and restaurants within walking distance. We had a standard double room and […] we were very satisfied. But remember, if you want twin beds you must upgrade the room as the standard room only got a double bed. The bathroom were renovated and clean. The room was very charming and classic. The only drawback was the stairs from the entrance to the lobby area. If you have heavy suitcases or stroller you have to carry it up to get to the reception.
