Our stay at Ocotal beach resort was amazing! The bungalow view was overlooking the marina and the beach.There's a nice restaurant on the beach with great food called Father Rooster a nice menu for us Americans.

If you're looking for a rustic setting away from touristy areas, a pristine beach, and personal service, this place is for you. There is a bed and breakfast feel to the experience without it actually being a bed and breakfast. Overall our experience was positive. We had a fun night and the beach was beautiful.

Overview of Hotel Bula Bula - Playa Grande

Location.
Situated near the beach in Playa Grande, Hotel Bula Bula is close to Tamarindo Beach, Grande Beach, and Las Baulas de Guanacaste National Marine Park. Additional area attractions include Conchal Beach and Hacienda Pinilla Golf Course.

Hotel Features.
Hotel Bula Bula has an outdoor pool and a children's pool. Complimentary wireless Internet access is available in public areas. This Playa Grande hotel offers a restaurant and a bar/lounge. Guests are served a complimentary breakfast. The staff can provide concierge services and wedding services. For a surcharge, guests have access to a roundtrip airport shuttle (available on request). Onsite parking is complimentary. A total renovation of this property was completed in September 2010.

Nice place well off the beaten path. Inkeeper and staff very friendly.Hotel clean and air conditioning was sufficient when the ceiling fan was also... running. Nice pool. The pool is very nice, and the hotel is about a five minute walk to a nice beach. It was Easter weekend, but only about 25 others shared the beach with us. There were two problems with the hotel. The water pressure in the shower was insufficient. They origionally tried to explain this away as too many people showering at the same time, but the proble also opccurred at 3pm so thier explanation was not likely correct. The hotel claims to have wifi access, but it is really only in the resturant area and does not reach the rooms. Wven when the connection is good, they have thier servers set to block content that THEY deem inapropropriate. I would prefer making my own decision on what is appropriate, rather than having them restrict my content. My assumptopn is a hotel is that I will have unlimityed access and that I will be able to use the internet in my room. by David from New York City on 04/10/13

We got to the hotel after driving 5 hours. We called before arriving and told the person in charge that we where going to be late. We got 1 hour late because we had to stop for an emergency of the car and no one was there anymore because of the time.. After 30 min waiting, one of the owners came to open for us but was the worst welcome! He seemed like […] he was drunk, he smelled like alcohol! He was mad and started to scream at us cuz he waited for us and we woke him up! The worst welcome ever!!! He was so mean and didn't stop screaming at us for a minute.. He had the worst temper... I just wanted to sleep, but I didn't believe the way that person treated us. I travel often, for business and pleasure and been in so many hotels in my life and by far this had been the worst treatment ever. I wont ever recommend it or stayed there even if they give it for free. (I never write reviews) but this time was worth the time. Read more

Great spot with only 10 rooms but vey good service from the excelent staff. Preferred being on the quiet side of the estuary, a short boat trip to Tamarindo but only between 7:30 and 4:30, therafter a 30 min taxi transfer. Quiet beach only 10 mins walkk. A great place with great people.

Hotel Bula Bula was true paradise! The staff was very friendly always welcomed me by name! The price was right! rooms were extra nice, beautifully decorated and peaceful feeling. relaxing pool and the beach is a short walk away... totally worth the walk. The food was so delicious and breakfast was included! We were suppose to stay only 2 nights ... Stayed just one night.It says that its close to Tamarindo but it,s not. We where all alone from after five o,clock at the hotel the day we arrived on the 16th of july. No where to buy food or drinks and to turn to with querstions or if something happend. We had to take a boat taxi to Tamarindo. it took only 10 minutes but then you must take a cab back […] home beacouse the boat goes only to 16:00. The cab home costs 30 dollars one way and takes 30 minutes. The hotel looks okey and if you dont want to meet other people its good. There are no resturants /store-atm. If you choose this hotel you must have a car! The service was really bad and its not mutch to do there. Cant recomend this at all... Read more

Charmant petit paradis. Bouffe au resto excellente. Site enchanteur, calme et bien entretenu. La chambre est petite mais bien décorée, manque d'éclairage. La plage est loin à pied .Ll'hotel est situé dans un parc donc loin des endroits plus touristiques.
