Forums Hotel - Riga

A very convenient hotel that is close to everything. The front desk is adequate but not very friendly. The only room that we could get had a street right outside of it and you could hear people go by all the time. The breakfast is great.

During the check-out the security guy (!) has inspected my room. He claimed that the juice in mini-bar was open, not have been used though. Ridiculous. They asked to fill some papers claiming that I DID NOT OPENED that juice

6 floors, about 5-7 rooms per floor. Small restaraunt and lobby on the ground floor. Convenient location between the Central Market and the Center of old town. Also very convenient to the 22 bus which goes direct to the airport. Basic breakfast: tea/coffee, OJ, scrambled, porridge, potatoes, toast, hard boiled eggs, deli meats. Forums Hotel is a pretty standard hotel with the comfort and most of the amenities of a big hotel chain without the big price. The hotel is ideal for access to the train or bus station (5 minute walk at the most) and at the edge of the old town. Riga's old town is small so it is an very easy walk to anywhere in the old town. The room was large and […] clean. My bathroom had a tub. Wifi (internet) was good and fast (it is provided by Latvia's countywide internet service - but you don't have to pay for it). The receptionist told me it would be best in the lobby but I had an excellent connection on the 4th floor. The breakfast was good with lots of choices (more than just continental fare). My only slightly negative comment is that the staff wasn't particularly friendly but I was happy enough with the room and location that I never gave it another thought after check-in. I stayed in a Novotel a few night before in a another city for about twice the price of my room at Forums and honestly, I can't see the advantage of Novotel. FYI - There is a very nice cinema across the nearby main road that has English-language movies if you're looking for something to do at night. There is also a variety of late night fast food (McD's, pizza, kebab) down the street for people who like to eat late or cheap. Read more

We liked the hotel- great location, clean and had wonderful staff. Like most of other hotels in Europe it had no AC and it was 30C outside... other than that it was a great experience. I would definitely recommend the Forum Hotel to my friends.

The hotel is very nice and its location is fantastic. there were only two issues that we encountered: the first one revealed itself shortly after we checked in - the room was lovely but as soon as we closed the window and the air in the room immediately became "funny" - the smell originated from the bathroom - either the toilet or the pipes, but it […] was rather smelly. If you are in for touring old Riga, then this hotel is worth a visit. Nice helpfull personell, nice rooms and 5 minutes walk to everything in old Rigaas well as a large market and railroad train station. At first you think were are we staying, but once you get past the front door into a nice pleasant. Staff were very nice and helpful, if you needed anything or guidance they were there to help. If we go back to Riga or if any of our friends go to Riga I would recommend The Forums Hotel. :) :)

次の日の朝バスでタリンに向かうため　バスターミナルに近い立地のこのホテルを選択しました。　　しかし、安価なのに、バスタブ付きの清潔で快適なお部屋、朝食もおいしく、レセプションスタッフも感じよかったです。備品もヨーロッパレベルでは高ポイントでした。おすすめしたいホテルです。

My stay at the hotel was very good - service, location, price. Though, have to mention that the bed in my room (61) had really bad bed springs. Also, night staff (didn´t notice his name) could be more polite if not friendly! Otherwise, I do recommend this hotel to other travellers who expects good value for the price, but not luxury.

Отель расположен очень удобно - 3 минуты от железнодорожного и минута от автовокзала. При этом в номере не шумно (жил на 6 этаже). Hotelli on oikein hyvä tarkoitukseen, jossa hotellissa käydään vain nukkumassa. Hotelli oli siisti ja rauhallinen. Aamupala oli ihan perusbrekkari ei mitään ihmeellistä, mutta päivän sai käyntiin aamupalalla (paahtoleipää, leikkelettä, hedelmiä, puuroa, munakasta, nakkeja, perunoita, jugee, lättyjä + tuoremehut ja kahvi/tee). Sijainti oli hyvä. Bussi […] lentokentältä tuli toiselle puolelle katua (stockman päätepysäkki, ei voi olla huomaamatta) ja bussi 22 lentokentälle kulki ihan hotellin vierestä. Valtavat kauppahallit ja ulkomarkkinat oli kadun toisella puolella ja vanhan kaupungin ytimeen oli kiven heitto. Huoneessa oli kokolattia matto, joten ei sovi allertigoille. Nice hotel for in historical Old Riga, close to sightseeing, trains, busses and shopping centers. The staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel is a bit worn, and the cleaning could and should be better. But overall a nice hotel at a very reasonable price.
