"dont eat there."
Hotel was adequate, but what other option do you have? We were fortunate to stay on a Sunday, when the price was around $100 a night. Weekend rates are WAY out of proportion - over $250! View of the frozen lake was okay. Must be spectacular during the summer. WARNING: stay clear of the restaraunt. Very nice on the surface, but that's only to mask the […] horrid service, food quality, and outrageous prices. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"business at Storm Lake"
It was my first stay in Storm Lake and it was mainly business. I use the conference room and it was just the right size for I needed. The staff was friendly and helpful. Next time I visit Storm Lake I'll be staying here.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Maybe your only choice..."
Maybe the waterpark is something good, but the overall facility is dated (for example, they have gargantuan tube TVs) and is just one of those places where nothing seems to be right. Staying here in the late fall was just depressing. Had I known there was somewhere else I could stay, would likely have done so. Remarkably poor housekeeping, which was […] a bit frustrating. Desk had a chair that was like 40" below it - if I you were like 5'3" you wouldn't have been able to reach the desk from a sitting position. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
The only thing I have any complaint it's that we happen to go during the time with water resort was closed. Bummer that got my bathing suit and couldn't used it. Otherwise overall it was great. The cleanliness and bed was comfortable (slept like a log everyday) Staff was really friendlyGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great location, Old TVs, Poor Internet"
The rooms were great - nice beds, nice amenities, but, while the television reception was good, it was an older, tube type and one of the rooms was missing a remote. The internet in the lobby was excellent, but once in our rooms, you could barely get a signal - to the point we gave up. The hotel has a great view of Storm Lake and has indoor and outdoor […] water parks, golf, and mini-golf. Nice amenities for families. Didn't get to try the restaurant as it doesn't serve breakfast during the week. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Water Park was awesome Hotel overpriced"
The indoor outdoor water park was awesome and our grandkids had a blast. Lake area for boating is also very nice but hotel itself was WAY overpriced and didn't include water park tickets. There must have been some specials that we didn't know about because this was not family affordable. When we checked in, the floor outside our door still had the previous […] guest's room service dishes. They were still there after we had returned from supper. Checkout time was 11am but none of our cards worked to open our door when we returned from breakfast at 10:15. Restaurant was reasonably priced and kid friendly but food was so so. My advice is stay at the Super 8 and just pay the daily fee for the water park. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Nice, clean, loved the view of the lake from balcony. We didn't use the waterparks - no time - but they looked fantastic!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Fun family experience."
The staff was very friendly and helpful. Wonderful lakeside views. My grandkids loved the water park! I was able to get a gift card to the water park for my grandkids to use later in the summer.Genuine Expedia guest review
We will never stay here again. Although the property itself is very nice and offers an indoor and outdoor water park, it's not worth it. We were double charged for the first night, (booked through a booking service). and charged 30.00 extra per night for incidentals. Then, the rate went up the 2nd night (a weeknight). Simple wasn't worth the ultimate […] hassle. If we had to do again, we would stay elsewhere and still visit the water park. (Since hotel guests pay the same fair as non guests). Front desk staff was rude. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Attractive hotel on the beach"
The Hotel is very nice and the staff is very pleasant. The room was very dark with inadequate lighting for a second person trying to read away from the desk. The restaurant offered a varied menu but was on the expensive side.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great Hotel for the Price"
We booked this hotel at the last minute and we were surprised at how nice the hotel and room were for the price. The water park is fantastic! My only complaint is that hotel guests should at be able to use the indoor pool without paying an additional charge. It seems ridiculous that a hotel this nice has a "pool surcharge".Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Was double billed and now having problems getting my money back.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
I did not have a very long stay, only overnight- came in pretty late and left very early. The front desk man was VERY nice and accomodating. The room, I found was beautifully done. I had two problems: There was no stopper for the bathtub and the room was really cold, even when I turned the heat up on multiple occasions. There is not a blanket or comforter […] on the bed- it is just a sheet and a thin sheet-like cover. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

Make sure to ask for a room that is not directly above the ball room where weddings are held! The base from the wedding music was extremely loud and there is nothing the staff will do about it. It sounded like the dance floor was in our room.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"I wouldn't call it a two star hotel"
The room was damaged. The rugs were separating Where put together. The air conditioner was noisier than a diesel truck and couldn't sleep with the noise.Genuine Expedia guest review
We really enjoyed our visit and definitely will be going back. Only thing I would recommend is a hot tub for your adult guestsGenuine Expedia guest review
"If you can get a good deal, it is a nice stay."
I was a bit disappointed. I really thought this was going to be a well cared for, high end hotel. It was okay, it needs some work. No water pressure in the shower/tub. It felt like someone was pouring a watering can over me. I could not get all the soap out of my hair. The hallways smelled. The on site restaurant was okay. The service in the restaurant […] was horrible. Very slow and rude. We did order room service and the staff was rude. The waterpark was okay. A LOT of the water toys were broken. We rented a paddle boat and it leaked all OVER us. If you wanted to eat anywhere but the hotel. You had to drive a mile into town. Our son had a lot of fun but I would not spend $125+/night. We probably won't be staying here again. The front desk staff was awesome. They were very friendly and accommodating. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice smaller resort"
Make sure you know if waterpark passes are included or not by booking with a online site. The only thing we had a problem with, on our second day the pool closed at 4:00pm for a swim meet! We were very upset, with having a smaller child that couldn't go down the big slides! There were no posting about the swim meet when we paid $45.00 to get in the […] waterpark! The hotel restaurant one of the worst meal experiences in my 19 years if traveling. Apparantly the manager could care less about ensuring patrons gave it the thumbs up. The meal can be summed up as yuck. Under cooked salmon, overcooked vegetable, and instead of getting rice they gave me fries. "good place to stay"
The front desk was helpful and polite and the room was nice. unfortunately, their pool was too cold due to their heater not being functional and my children were unable to swim for as long as they would've liked to. Plus I felt the pool staff wasn't very friendly or helpful. I wish that the pool would've been warmer so we could've enjoyed it more. That […] was the whole reason we booked a room at that hotel. What a beautiful hotel! We were very pleasanlt surprised there was such a gem in Storm Lake, Iowa! By booking through Expedia, our room cost lest than the Super 8!!!! The beds were very comfortable. "What a FUN place!"
03/25/15 Teresa W Nevada
I was very impressed with the lifeguards as they kept a watchful eye on the pools and helped at the water slides. My son had so much fun there! Up the stairs and slide down, over and over! I wished that we would have known that you can check out of your hotel room by 11, but you may stay and swim all that day as long as you have your wristband. We drove just over 2 hours to get there and it would have been fun to plan to stay longer the next day. It was nice to be able to catch a bite to eat poolside rather than having to get dressed, go eat dinner, and then change to go swimming again.

We enjoyed our 1st stay at King's Pointe. Waterpark passes were included in the price of our room. We had a 2 bedroom suite. Big enough for grandma and grandpa, kids and grandkids. Our suite overlooked the lake-awesome! The grandkids loved the waterpark. The food was good at the Regatta Grill. Only 1 bump was at 11:30 p.m., the neighbors were vaccuming! and an alarm kept going off every little bit - don't know what that was all about! My daughter should have complained, but was too nice to! Our room was by the elevator and thought we would hear that all night, but didn't. Would stay again. Couldn't get on the free wi-fi. Stain on the carpet by the sofa.
"Always a great family get away"
03/24/15 Rachel K Pocahontas, Iowa
We have made an annual trip to Kings Pointe with the extended family for many years now. The kids love the indoor waterpark. It is a great chance for them to burn off some winter blahs! The rooms are nice and comfortable. The Regatta Grille has decent food and drinks. This is a great overall resort for all of the family to enjoy.
03/24/15 Lori B Larchwood, Iowa
This hotel was very clean and well kept! The rooms were very spacious and updated. We stayed in the king lakeview. It had a pull out sofa which was comfortable for the kids to sleep on. We visited one of the larger rooms that our friends were staying in. It had a kitchen with and island, dining room table, couch and two separate bedrooms. That room was amazing and not that much more money per night. That would have been the way to go! The waterpark was very nice. The kids had a great time. The only thing that I would suggest is to have later hours. They closed at 9:00. Alot of other hotel pools/waterparks we have stayed at are open until at least 10:00 or later. Overall a very nice hotel!
"Just Bad Business"
I am writing this as a member of a family reunion that was planning on coming to King's Pointe this summer. We had booked our rooms a year in advance and had plans for various activities over a weekend in July..... That is until, without warning, King's Pointe decided to get rid of all of our reservations - cabins, conference rooms and hotel rooms - so that they could host a swim meet. Not only is this rude, but it is a horrible way to treat customers who have had reservations for such a long time. So I am doing my duty and alerting my fellow travelers. Do not come here. Anyone who would act so flippantly to paying customers does not deserve your business.
I've read some reviews before I consider booking this place. Everyone has their own opinion on things. So why not and see it for myself. The hotel itself was beautiful. Especially looking at the lake. The indoor Waterpark was nice. My kids are 11,7, and 2. It wasn't too big or to small. Perfect enough I can keep and eye on my kids. The Rogetta Grille, the food was excellent. Only thing is that it took them a long time to bring out the food. One thing is that, they should train their staffs. The lady didn't even know the menu. She even asked how would we like our ribs cooked. I beieve it's supposed to be cooked throughly. Overall experience, yes, I would be coming back for the outdoor waterpark. I like how there's other activities around that resort you can do.
"Best indoor water park we've been to!"
Our kids are 7.5 and 4 and there were several things for all of them to do. With only the indoor part being open we were pleasantly surprised. All 3 kids could do slides and the whole place was well lit so I felt comfortable letting them go off to attractions on their own. Other places we've been have been very dark and cloudy water. This place was clean. We had a queen suite room and it was awesome. We will definitely be going back!!
"Spring Break with girlfriends & kids!"

Great trip, the hotel was very accommodating by getting our 5 rooms as close to each other as possible!! Always clean & a great place to enjoy with family & friends! The indoor waterpark is great for a wide rage age of kids!
"Kids were happy... that's what matters"
03/17/15 Kelli L Maurice, Iowa
We were there with 4 families. The staff was very accommodating. Unfortunately there wasn't a place to hang out at the end of the night, so we just all sat in the hallway. Not ideal, but it worked. I was also surprised at how small the beds were. The TVs were outdated, but you don't go to a waterpark to watch TV. Our kids were very happy with the waterpark, which is why we were there. It was small enough that I could give my older kids (6 & 8) some freedom. I was disappointed in the lazy river and that there wasn't a hot tub, but the good outweighed the bad. The cleaning staff was so very friendly and helpful.
"Our daughter had a blast!"
03/17/15 Tyler W
Our 2 year old daughter had a great time at the indoor water park. She loved the whole kiddie area. We will be coming back for sure! The hotel was very nice and clean, and all of the staff was very nice. The walls of the rooms must have been pretty thin, as we could hear kids running around and screaming all night and morning. The restaurant was a bit pricey, but was fairly good. The dinner we had the first night was good. The brunch the next morning was OK at best.
