My trip was business related. I choose this hotel specifically because of location and free wireless connection. Free wireless connection not working in room. Had to go to lobby to work. Staff was extremely aloof and never did reboot system. Television was not working when I arrived. Man from front desk and maintenance man came to fix because maintenance […] man needed to be trained. We stayed at Palihouse on a Friday night. Power had been out at our house for two days, so we were really looking forward to a comfortable night. Palihouse was great - the rooms are enormous (studio apartments really), and very comfortable. Linens are great, kitchen area is fully stocked with supplies (even a blender), so would be a nice place to stay […] for a week or longer. Free wi-fi. The only downside is that all rooms open onto the courtyard, which can be very boomy and loud at night. The staff put us in a room somewhat sheltered from the noise by a stairwell, which was much appreciated since I'm 8 months pregnant. They do provide ear plugs in the room! But it was reasonably quiet by midnight, and it wouldn't have been an issue for us at all if we were in West Hollywod to see a show or enjoy the nightlife. Breakfast the next morning took over 40 minutes to be served (granola and toast) in the restaurant, which was a bit annoying. But the staff was really nice. I had read other reviews about poor service and noise. I can't speak to the noise as it was Halloween, the biggest night of the year in Weho so noise is to be expected. I also can't speak to the food. However, single person I interacted with was very personable and more than one employee went out of their way to help me. The rooms are HUGE. I had a […] ig sitting area, a kitchen and a washing machine (which I did not need for a one night stay but which would be great for longer visits). My only complaints were I didn't see an ice machine on my floor diagram and I didn't really have time to find out how to get ice. Also although bottled water was provided, there was no mini bar. Our stay at the Palihouse was great! If you don't mind a little bit of noise and music at night, this is the hotel to stay at in Hollywood. It is very conveniently located close to the heart of Hollywood, yet away enough to get away from all the commotion of traffic and people. Service was great. i travel A LOT and have stayed in many different types of hotels. however, i must say, my stay at palihouse holloway was quite unique. the atmosphere if urban and chic with a touch of european flair. although i knew that some of the rooms at PH were equipped with their own kitchen and separate living space, i didn't realize my room--standard guest room--included […] everything and the kitchen sink! literally! i greatly recommend for business travelers or those who travel a lot to stay here. it's cozy and has all the conveniences of home including a fully-equipped kitchen and washer/dryer. even for just weekenders, it is great, especially if there are occasional days you want to stay in and cook your own dinners. there's a great bar downstairs and the hotel staff is incredibly nice and very accommodating. i give PH a well deserved five out of five stars. It might be okay during the week but we stayed on Friday and Saturday nights and the noise was like nothing I've ever experienced! It gave a whole new meaning to "paper-thin walls" and earplugs didn't help. It was as though we'd put down our mattress in a mosh pit!! Until 1-1:30am. Sleeping was NOT an option which was awful as I'd wanted to sleep from […] about 11p-7a. The room itself was great looking, stylish, even had a washer/drier in the closet. I loved the room and location but the lack of sleep took over my vacation. We asked if they could switch our rooms but apparently there really aren't any quiet options. I had to come back for a NAP the next day and then wasn't able to find parking. The staff assisted with that but I didn't want any of it in the first place(to need a nap, to not find parking...) I read on tripadvisor that this hotel was loud and thought it was some nitpicky person and wouldn't be a problem for me. That was a mistake! On the week-ends, this is a great place to stay as long as you are definitely fine with staying up until 1:30am both nights. If not, I'd look elsewhere. Read more

We felt that we should have been told beforehand that the hotel is primarily for extended stays. They do not provide housekeeping for guests staying the amounmt of time that we did. At checkout, we were never thanked for staying there nor asked about our stay.

Besides needing a complete renovation, the rooms are only cleaned once during a seven day stay ( they charge for any additional cleaning ) and the restaurant is closed on Mondays. The one day I was able to eat in the restaurant, the kitchen was out of 3 of 4 choices. There are much better choices nearby, for comparable prices.

Over all a bad experience - fir s first time visitor to the Palihouse - the parking was confusing (no one to help direct you to where you should go) the front desk was very slow - (i left a package for someone to pick up and they sent the messenger away because they didn't look in the storage room for the package and just told the messenger "nothing […] is here for you") the hot water knob in the shower was broken, the cabinets were falling apart. AND to top it off - the room service closes at 11pm! needless to say i went to bed hungry the first night i arrived. overall not worth your money! Read more

We stayed in a studio room, and it was like being in an ultra-stylish friend's Manhattan apartment. Impeccably clean, stylish, and large. The common areas reminded me very much of a Keith McNally restaurant (Pastis, Balthazar). We loved our stay, and would absolutely stay there again. Would be amazing for a long-term stay.

This is a wonderful property, well located, very nice rooms, with a generally very nice staff (with a couple of exceptions). The problem is that the owners have chosen to create a Hollywood "scene" in the bar and with private events at the expense of the registered guests. All rooms open onto an atrium, so don't even think of going to sleep unto the […] bar closes at 2:00 am, or try to relax during other afternoon special parties. Even Sunday night, when the bar was closed, I was awakened at 5:30 am with people cleaning outside the rooms. Guests are a distant second priority. For example, on Sunday, the restaurant was closed because all the staff were catering a private party. Read more

This is the best hotel experience I've ever had. The rooms are huge and very cool and hip. Most importantly, it's clean. The kitchen looks nice and fancy but it also actually works.
