This was a perfectly serviceable room. The bed was on the hard side which was fine by me, but the wife didn't like it. Nothing special about the room, you do get to hear traffic as it's with in one block of the highway. There is a sonic next door and that was nice. The room itself was ok for what we needed. We were just there for one night before a bicycling event. At the last minute, I had a friend decide to come with me so when I got there, I asked for a room with double beds. It got kind of sketchy then. At first, they were going to charge me an additional $40 for the extra bed. I couldn't really understand […] the doubling in price because the hotel was DEFINITELY not crowded. When I couldn't get a satisfactory explanation (English was not the first language spoken here), I gave in and was going to pay the extra. I handed the clerk my credit card and was then told if I would go to the store next door and get cash, they'd give it to me for $30. I did this and got checked in. The hotel was quiet enough and as I said earlier, the room was ok. If you're just passing through and need a place to crash, it's what you're looking for. This is one of the cleanest hotels we have EVER stayed at. The bed was very comfortable. The staff was friendly and accomodating. We would definitely stay at this ABV again! And is close enough to the highway for easy access to/from the hotel, but far enough away that we had a quiet and restful sleep without hearing passing autos.

For an inexpensive hotel, I was pleasantly surprised at the comfort, cleanliness, and recently updated decor. The staff was very helpful. It was nice to find WiFi in the room itself, not just in the office. The only improvement I would like to see is fluffier towels.

A lot of weekly workers spending the night there.. was very noisy because of the everyone staying up so late. Nothing else to choose from in the area. Was there for a funeral. So I had no other choice.

I took a chance on this place because of other reviews I had read. I was not disappointed. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, the manager was pleasant and I couldn't beat the price. As a female traveling alone, I felt very safe. I would recommend this hotel to anyone (as a matter of fact, I already have).

It was good for what you paid for. If you just need a place to sleep, it will do. The beds were really hard, but since I like a hard bed, I slept well. Someone who likes a softer bed will not like them. It is by the highway, so there is some highway noise, but in the room, it's more of a soft white noise. I was surprised that there was a fridge and […] microwave in the room, so that was a plus. We just stayed one night - checking in late and leaving early, so all we needed was a place to crash for the night and it met our needs. While my husband and I stayed here to be close to the Texas Ren Fest it was a very nice hotel. Not too much food wise in the area except a few fast food joints and a gas station but it was perfect for us for the night. We LOVED the size of the bed in our room and the shower was great too! :)

This one deserves (just barely) its two (2) stars. Stay if you have to or have serious business that won't wait in Hempstead TX. Otherwise, wave as you go past on US 290.

Room was fine and nice place for the price, but the personnell did not seem very cheerful or smile. Some dirty ice came out of the ice dispenser. It is right off the highway.
