"Very disappointing and uncomfortable; not 4 stars"
This hotel was a big disappointment. They had recently remodeled, and it was clean, but the choices made in the remodel made for a very uncomfortable bathroom. 1) This hotel had the tiniest shower stall of any hotel I encountered on my 3-week Sicilian trip, and most hotels I stayed in were 2 stars! The shower drain was blocked and flooded after about […] one minute. I told the desk, but it took until the next day to fix it. 2) The toilet violently sprayed water all over the toilet seat and floor and anyone standing near it. Thus, the toilet seat was constantly wet... yuck. 3) The toilet paper dispenser was the locking kind that rations you to one square at a time. Just like high school. Other problems included... The AC was basically nonfunctional because it was so weak. And worse, it only worked when the key was in the panel, so you returned to a burning hot room and it never got cooled off. There was no Do Not Disturb sign for the door. When we arrived, we had two burned out light bulbs which I unscrewed and left on the bed for replacement; they were thrown out but not replaced. This hotel is definitely a far cry from 4 star service!! So, even though it was clean and remodeled, it was one of the most unpleasant hotels of my vacation. I feel bad they remodeled and put in such horrible showers and toilets. Should note: it has a nice location on the waterfront and 15 minute walk to the ferries. Also, there is no "private beach" or beach at all. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Clean, comfortable, pretty place to stay"
The hotel was very clean and tastefully decorated. The room was a bit small, but very good quality. The bathroom was clean, comfortable, and well equipped. The breakfast room was clean, the service was very good, and the continental spread was elegantly presented. Our only disappointment was that our room was not a sea view, but in the end, it was nice […] to be on the quiet side of the building. I would call it a luxury boutique hotel. "Hotel Il Principe Milazzo"
This was a really great place to stay. Absolutely top class with highest standards of rooms, furniture, cleanliness, ambiance; it reaaly deserves more than four stars. Staff was very helpful, especially Antonio at the desk. Everything was within a few minutes walk; very convenient, and best place we stayed at in Sicily.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The hotel is clean and comfortable. The first room we were sent to had no windows and was strangely kitted out to look like some kind of ship. Really odd! And very, very oppressive. The gym and "spa" were unplugged/switched off. We used the gym but were told it was extra to use the spa (in a way that suggested they would really rather we didn't bother) […] - which was in any case switched off. As a family of four we had two rooms (one for the kids) which weren't particularly close together - and one of the rooms was very pokey. But it was nice enough - provided you are out and about all day. Perhaps one more suited to the more mature customer. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Probably the best option in Milazzo"
The Principe is a reasonable property in a pleasant location. I was one of only two or three guests staying for a night at the end of the season but was given a room that overlooked a loading bay and service area, rather than the sea. The power saving efforts of the management resulted in it being difficult to see the keyhole in the door and impossible […] to charge my camera while I was out of the room. Although very elaborately decorated, the general feel of the hotel was more travel lodge than boutique.

"Classic and comfortable"

The hotel is very well located. The room was very clean and big. The large bed had very white sheets and comfortable pillows. The bathroom had a wonderful shower . Some little details as the light switches and plugs near the bed make the difference. The only problem found there was that the wifi was very weak in the bedroom which made us go to the common areas to access it but for sure all the rest made it worth to stay there !

Class Hotel ...... warm, professional, beauty room, perfect location to stay for work. I never have been here for holiday (sigh!) but for business several times. Here you can feel Sicily ...ask for a front see room.... you will see two way of live ... the morning fishers and the oil and gas refinery.

the only positive thing of this hotel is the position and the location. the superior room is not so superior, too dark and the shower in the bathroom was really old with rust, the spa is too small, too dark and you can t see anything when you go inside the emotional shower.I asked several thing to the receptionists and it was like none listen to me,I asked 3 times for my bottle of prosecco and at least I got it at 11.pm after my fiancee went for the last time to the reception.the wi-fi connection and mobile phone doesn t work, but if you bring the computer near the reception maybe you can have some chance to got it.the breakfast is poor.only sweet sometimes burnt.

"Clean, comfortable & with character"

I've stayed twice in this hotel for one-night business trips only (both in spring, so not peak season), and found it pretty good. Rooms are modern, very comfortable, and spotlessly clean. Decor is rather over-the-top, but at least has some character - it could never be described as bland! Breakfast is a little limited by international standards, but typical Italian & the quality is good. I was very happy with the Wi-Fi on my visits - may have been lucky with the rooms I was in. Staff are friendly and speak some English (not much when I've been there, but enough to get by). There was only one bizarre incident of poor service on my last trip to spoil the record, when the girl on reception called me at 4.00am on the room phone to ask for my passport! She had not taken it the evening before when I offered it at check-in (I think she thought I was already registered on the system), but for some reason was determined she needed it right away. I protested that in the morning would be good enough, but she insisted she needed it right then, saying "police!", so I had to get up and get dressed to go and hand it over. No sign of police but she did phone someone. Her colleague on the desk the next morning was apologetic and as puzzled as I was about why it was needed at 4am and couldn't wait till breakfast time... Not a recommendation for good service, but hopefully a bizarre one-off. I'd certainly be happy to stay there again.
"Hotel Il Principle Milazzo Absolutely Great"

We spent a great long weekend at this wonderful place on the water at Milazzo. It was the best place we stayed at in Sicily over several trips over the last four years. The rooms were beautiful; extremely well maintained, fantastic furniture and furnishings, a short walk to everything of interest. Antonio behind the desk was very helpful. We highly recommend it as a weekend geataway or base for longer stays; really impressed. It is also small and cosy and well worth the four star rating and better than many five star places we have stayed at. Hotel is proud of its Trip Advisor status and really deserves it.
"I was staying for almost 2 months in this very nice hotel and I found all facilities simply PERFECT."

The rooms facing the Milazzo,s port are making the life smiling from very morning...as well as very confortable to ensure a very good rest - relaxation. The available facilities (TV - Bathroom - Internet ,etc. ) make the guest as living in a small paradise plenty of confort,,, All personnel : Reception - House keeping - Breakfast ,etc.. are first of all very efficient-reliable but mainly always smiling and offering all their courtesy to the guest in any occasion.... Then I highly reccomend to any type of travellers to discover - enjoy such a beautiful pearl...
"NIce hotel - but service is lacking"
10/24/11 Joey1980 Ireland
We stayed here in Oct 2011. Pros: The hotel and room was nice. The room itself was large and spacious. The breakfast was good. Cons: The WIFI kept breaking - every 5 or 10 minutes it would disconnect and you had to reconnect - it got very frustrating after an hour or so. The service is brutal - if you asked for anything the 3 people in reception had to basically have a conference between them and eventaully answer your request. I asked for an iron one evening and they had none - in the whole hotel. They offered me one the next morning which was a little late considering it was a dress I wanted to iron for wearing the night before. We also asked if they could arrange back massages for us the next day - we were told to come and ask the next morning - the next morning they rang but there was no availability - I cant help feeling if they had of rang the first day we may have got availability. They offered us use of their spa. It was 15 euro (which they dont tell you on the website) and they said to come back in 20 minutes so they had time to get it ready. When I came back they said wait another 20 minutes or so. So eventually about an hour later it was available for use. It was nice i must admit but I dont understand how they cant know how long it takes for the steam room etc to get to temperature. It was little things like this that bugged us during the stay. The hotel overall is very nice but the service really could do with sharpening up a little. Also note that the Roof-top jacuzzi is not in operation at thisti me of year (despite it being 28C outside on the days we stayed).
"An OK hotel in an OK place"

We booked here for 2 nights as a direct result of trip advisor’s #1 rating & reviews. It was by far the most expensive of the three 4* hotels we stayed at during our week in Sicily. On arrival no one offered to assist us with our luggage & our suite was hot & stuffy – no one had thought to put the air-con on for us & then, unless you left the key in the room to activate the electrics, the air-con went off as soon as you left the room. When its 35C outside and corridors outside the room are not air-conditioned it’s not ideal for a 4 star suite. Many would no doubt describe the designer furniture & room designs as stunning but we found it all a bit OTT - almost garish in some ways. The room we had was spacious enough but it was almost as if the designer(s) had decided that if they squeezed a bit more furniture into the room guests would be more impressed - our thoughts here were that less would probably have been more! Of course it’s only our opinion but it really did seem to have had 2 or 3 completely different designers influences imposed on each room with mis-matched pieces right next to one another. Weird really! Then simple things were missing – there was no bin in the room (only a small sanitary towel bin in the bath room) – no shaving mirror – no extraction fan in the bath room and the smallest plastic freestanding shower cubicle I think I’ve ever come across in a hotel suite - anywhere. The whole hotel was spotlessly clean. Reception staff were helpful & friendly. Both free Wi-Fi & free minibar were available in our room. Breakfast was adequate – typically Italian in its content. Unlike most “touristy” 4* hotels these days there were no cooked eggs available or offered. What was available was fresh and good quality. Il Principe is walking distance from the town centre – the beaches are on the other side of the promontory “behind” the hotel about 1km walk away. There is no parking assigned to the hotel – clearly Milazzo is a very busy place & parking even out of town is quite an issue – 2 hours is all that’s allowed directly outside the hotel – the opposite side of the street is unlimited parking but (certainly in August) almost permanently full – we were lucky enough though! The best find for us in Milazzo was the restaurant situated immediately behind the hotel - Il Giardino di Sicilia.
"Sea front hotel"

Very good and clean. Room was confortable and furniture stylish, above standard. Personnel was friendly and I had a pleasant stay. Only wired internet in the room, free of charge. The hotel has no restaurant, but it is near the city centre and at a walking distance from several restaurants. Good value for money.
