I was underwhelmed to say the least. The service at the desk was indifferent and unaccommodating on a number of requests. The Wi-Fi in our building did not work, and the attendant said she had heard that before. Clearly, no one had ever bothered to address that issue nor did they this time. Several light bulbs were out in the room. The rooms are not […] carpeted. The location is impossible to find on a GPS, thereby requiring a phone call to find your way in. The check in and check out times are extreme and non-negotiable without additional fees. The list could go on. Definitely will not stay there again. Read more

The room has a private access door which kind of takes away from the classiness of room. The room has no outside windows which kind of made me feel claustrophobic, but I love sunshine. The jacuzzi was nice and large. The shower was large and fun to play with the steam and other features...It is also all glass and has no privacy. Mirrors are strategically […] placed throughout the room. The bed is spacious. The microwave is tiny and our refrigerator did not work. Located in a neighborhood near the highway. If you use google maps you won't have a problem finding it. This is a very nice cozy little place to getaway!

This is our 2nd time having a couples getaway at the Champagne Lodge. We stayed in the executive suite...Very clean room and very modern decor. The jacuzzi tub was HUGE!! ( easly fits 4) My husband did surprise me with the anniversary pkg ( $30 add on ) which was "cheap" . Gourmet cupcakes.. were not "gourmet" . petals on bed were fabric and pale pink. […] Should of been a deeper color so its more noticeable when you walk in room. Continental breakfast could be better quality as well, pastries were dry. bagels were not fresh (frozen). Overall I would defintely go again!! Read more

This is a nice place to go when you are showing someone you love them. But the check in time is bad and if you want to check in early than you will have to pay more so it's hard to have a surprise already in the room waiting. Other than that you should have a great night.

We have stayed at this location before and have enjoyed each time very much. The location is near some great places to eat. We love Pappadeaux Seafood Kitchen. One very minor complaint is that there is no soap dishes in bathrooms. Water from soap gets everything wet because vanity top is not large. Also, would like a separate rack for your hand towel. We recently stayed at the Champagne Lodge for the second time in a year. We occasionally visit family in Palos Park, and the Lodge fronts I-55, which makes it quite handy for us. Parking is literally right outside the room door. The room was great: hard not to enjoy the sauna and whirlpool bath, and the fireplace is a nice touch. A complimentary Continental […] breakfast is provided, which adds to the experience. There are plenty of places to eat nearby, and we feel the premium paid for staying at the Lodge is well worth it. Had a lovely time in a well appointed room. Kohler fixtures, wonderful soaking tub with jets, TV set so you can soak and watch! Steam shower super relaxing. I booked this hotel as a mini romantic getaway and it served it's purpose. The location, even though you have to go through a residential area is private and secluded. The Champagne Lodge is a wonderful romantic getaway! It's very clean and quiet. If your looking for somewhere to enjoy alone time this is the place to go!

My wife and I recently stayed at the Champagne Lodge as it was conveniently located close to where she was taking classes at the Wilton School. I found the place online and it had good reviews, and it was reasonably priced so we went for it. Overall it was a good experience, but I'll break it down. The Good The rooms are clean, big and very comfortable. […] It was very easy to reach (just off of I-55) and we had no problems parking. The front desk staff were fairly helpful, and the continental breakfast was actually pretty good. Also, as I said, the rate was very good. The bed itself was a little firm, but that's how I like my beds so I slept very well. The Not-so-good The room itself was just... weird. It's somewhat difficult to describe, but walking in we got the feeling that it was a classier version of a place you would rent hourly. The bed and bath are next to each other, and the light switches are located behind the pillows... both things that made it feel weird being there. As I said, the room was clean (exception of some hair in the bath) but we got the impression that it was a frequenter of people looking for a 'dirty weekend', so to speak. Overall I'd definitely recommend this place, the pros outweigh the cons. Just know what kind of a place it is (or appears to be) before you go. We were both happy with our stay, and in no way would I give it a negative review, but it took an adjustment period. They style themselves as a 'boutique' hotel, and perhaps that is accurate, but it's not what I would use to describe it. Read more

This is truly a luxury motel! The amenities are superb and the staff friendly and helpful. EVERY room features a huge steam bath / walk-in shower, large hot tub (easily big enough for two), a large HD TV, and a fireplace. While I'm sure they are geared for romantic getaways, it is also a little bit of luxury for business travelers too.

We had a great stay at the Champagne Lodge. It was very clean comfortable. I made my reservations for a nonsmoking suite but upon arrival I was informed that my reservations were for a smoking unit. Every room in this hotel has a walk-in steam bath, whirlpool, large HD TV, DVD player, fireplace, and many more features. I found the rooms to be very clean, comfortable, and cozy.

I have been telling everyone I know about this establishment. Up to date styling and very comfortable. I will definitely be staying there the next time I am in town.

This was our second stay at Champagne Lodge. The rooms contain special steam showers, two-person jacuzzis, and "imitation" fireplaces which make them romantic and cozy. The rooms are about average size compared to a standard hotel and there aren't any windows, probably for privacy reasons. The only downsides to CL are the firm beds and there isn't alot […] going on in the neighborhood (although it is close to the highway for easy access to downtown Chicago). Great room and better experience.

My wife and I stayed at the Champange Lodge for sometime away from our routine time at home. We enjoyed the room amenities and enjoyed each others company.

The hot tub was great for the old aching muscles. Bed was so soft and we loved how clean it all was. Loved the train ride into Chicago.

The stay was great as usual we enjoyed the standard suite. This was our second visit and we are planning to stay each time of the seasons We were there early part of the year and was just there at the first part of the fall both times were special occasions for us.The neighbor is so peaceful and calm totally out of the way we call it our hideaway. It was perfect. It was the perfect choice and we had a wonderful time and the staff had great suggestions on where to eat and the surrounding area. IWe hope to go back some time. Can see how some might say it was hard to get to but the seclusion was very cool. We loved it.

While it took about 45 minutes to get to the Chicago Loop from the hotel, the room and surrounding area were very accommodating, making for a very comfortable stay. Will need to weigh the pro vs con aspect

I'm not often at a loss for words, this is by far one of the best hotels I've ever stayed at. Others have written of the difficulty of finding this place nad it is true. If you are going to use a GPS system it will bring you to the wrong location. Just call and ask for the directions, it is SO easy to find by following the reigh directions. This is by far one of the BEST rooms I have ever stayed in. I was only stopping through on a cross-country drive. I arrived later in the evening and the whirlpool tub and steam shower was exactly what I needed after a long day of driving. I actually debated delaying my trip another day to enjoy the room longer. The bed was comfortable, yet it lacked […] plush linen. I was surprised to see only sheets and a soft blanket on the bed. I searched the room for more blankets or a comforter, but nothing. I left a comment card for them to at least leave an extra blanket. The room offered great audio visual options including a great sound system, cable and DVD player. The faux fireplace was awesome; no heat just ambiance. The property was a little difficult to find; it's not located where the map says it is. It's actually about 3/4 of a mile east of where the address puts you. It's located behind a residential neighborhood, so it was quiet, but offered nothing for amenities without a bit of a drive. Continental breakfast was minimal, but good quality. Parking was convenient and free. I loved this place so much, I am currently seeking other reasons to revisit the area. I am planning a return trip to this place and next time I plan to take advantage of the in room massage and spa treatments that they offer.when gps ing this address it is wise to turn right off of 83 at the corner where shell gas station is and follow the signs. The room was very nice and clean but no windows was a little strange. Housekeeping did forget to put fresh robes in my room the next morning and the desk was pretty rude with their wake up call but all and all a good stay. A little hard to find, GPS couldn't but Mapquest did.

This hotel was a wonderful stay.....very close to FANTASTIC shopping in Bollingbrook, and close to downtown Chicago as well. I travel 1 wk out of every month...this is the most wonderful hotel I have ever stayed at. I was exhausted and sick when I showed up...I left completely healed and so stress free. This is an awesome place to stay. Very different from other hotels, but in a good way. It is a little off the main road, but don't worry about the drive through the residential area, it is worth it. The hostess gave us a great list for take-out and we had food delivered. Felt like we were in a Colorado lodge. We had traveled for 4 days and this was […] the best way to wrap up the trip. Super relaxing. Whirlpool, and steam shower in each room. Also a great flat screen. Stereo plays in the shower, dvd player, everything you need. Modern look and feel, like nothing you have ever seen. Great value and great service. I would say this is not a place for family travel, but for a couple this is the place to go. They also have spa services, but we did not have time to try them out. The spa tub and steam shower are great, but they take up most of the square footage in the main room. To get from the bed to the bed to the bathroom, you have to edge around built-in furniture and slip through the narrow space between the tub and the end of the bed. What a great place, if you need to call a hotel your home for a few days. There had been reviews that talked about the quality of the neighbor hood, the hardness of the beds and the difficiulty needed to find the place. None of those should be a concern to anyone. Once you get to the general area of the hotel, there are signs to lead you right to check in. My room wasn't ready ( I was real, real early) so I sat in my car for a half hour making phone calls and they serviced the room. The room was large by a lot of hotel standards, and the steam bath, hot tub and rain forrest shower all added to a wonderful relaxing stay. Loved the place. Staff is great and owner extremely customer-oriented. I was very surprised at the low cost for the high quality of the room. Very close to Midway and Bolingbrook which was helpful for me.

This place is great, but don't try to put the address into your GPS because you will NEVER find it. It's in a fairly residential neighborhood so there are few landmarks. This is very nice place to stay, one of the most memorable times for us. I would recommend this to anyone willing to take the drive. Room was beautiful and all the amenities.
