The hotel was more like a nice condo. There wasn't any maid service, but I didn't need it for my stay. The place was very nice and quite. Everything was clean and well kept. The Trinity Beach location was perfect for getting away from the downtown Cairns area, but close enough that catching a reef tour boat at 7am was not a problem. Check in wasn't too bad Joanna was really nice and helpful and too bad she only worked a few days out of the week-the other receptionist wasn't very kind. Beyond the alarm clock getting switched out, the air conditioning fixed from leaking all over, the TV buzzing annoyingly, all the fire ants (put everything in the fridge), and the stinky bathroom...it […] wasn't so bad. It was a bed after our crazy days and I still think we got a killer deal. We actually ended up purchasing a weekly bus pass and we would have stayed in the city for all the city travel we did. Highlights include the Skyrail to Kuranda, holding a koala at Koala Gardens, having a spa experience in Palm Cove, and snorkeling the Barrier Reef twice! I thought that it was very good value for money because I got a great discount rate. The hotel is in easy reach of the beach and shops although the only view is to the pool or the lagoon which is a little swamp like in parts. I had a pool room which was as close to the pool as you could imagine. The disadvantage is that you look straight on to other […] rooms on the other side of the pool. There is little privacy when you sit on the balcony which is the only place to eat with table and chairs. I also found the lounge room furniture to be ok but not really comfy. Blue Lagoon was a great place to stay, and the surrounding area is a cute little beach community with some surprisingly good restaurants. The room was very nice and the staff friendly and helpful. The one issue was the lack of wireless internet access anywhere but the main office. The room was advertised as "free wireless internet", and it never occurred […] to me that, in this day and age, that wouldn't mean "in your hotel room". People need internet access for work, to stay in touch with family, and to plan their vacations, and not having it available in the rooms is only slightly more archaic than not having running water. Enjoyed our stay as we absolutely love Cairns & particularly Trinity Beach. The resort was close to beach, restaurants & shops. I would probably recommend renting a car though. But public transport was available & close. The hotel was clean, not very modern & small. But very clean & everything worked fine. Contains all you need for cooking & doing laundry. […] No dryer so your clothes take over a day to dry. Oh well that's what you get with the weather. I would also recommend to avoid going out on the balcony & closing the glass sliding door behind you. We both got locked out, lucky we were not together. Don't know how it happened, but it would be really bad being stuck out on top floor veranda at night with no phone on you &n one to let you in. Apart from that great place to stay & would go back. Just came home from a seven night stay at the Blue Lagoon in a studio apartment. The studio is great for couples and has all you need for a self contained apartment. The property and amenities are modern and well maintained. Be aware that sheets, towels etc are only changed mid stay if you book for seven nights or more. The fitness centre only has 3 […] pieces if equipment and no weights but is clean and tidy and never busy. Apart from the rain we were in walking distance to all trinity beach has to offer. There was no elevator in block we were in - elevator was stated in brief of add. May have been in another building. Thankfully we had a grown floor room- otherwise you would be faced carrying luggage up flights of stairs with a child and myself with a walking stick. The pool was shaded by trees and easily to get into and out of without steps. Other families chose to visit this pool as the others ones were in full sun. Location of this resort is only a short 2 minute walk to the beach & restaurants. We had our 19 month old daughter with us & the facilities were great. Big spacious rooms, BBQ by the pools & lots of space to run around. The staff were exceptional. We can't wait to go back. It would also be a great place to get away with a group.

Overall the room was great however it needed a larger frypan in the kitchen or an electric frypan. it also needed more towel rails in the bathroom or additional hooks on the back of the bathroom door. small issues only but adding them would make a good room perfect. overall the resort is fantastic, staff very friendly and very helpfull.

The staff here are extremely friendly and helpful and also can organise tours from there and give advice on which are the best ones. The only thing I would improve is that there was hardly enough toilet roll to last the week that we were there, and although it is an apartment, i wouldn't expect to run out of toilet roll.

We enjoyed a relaxing 12 night stay here while on an extended holiday in Australia from Europe .the apartment was cleaned halfway through our stay as expected and most facilities were first class including an excellent pool. Our only disappointment was firstly the absence of a safe which was very important for us with,passports,valuable personal items […] including an I-pad,which were difficult to bring on tours such as the barrier reef for snorkelling etc. On your website you had stated a safe would be included. Also very disappointed wi-fi was only available beside reception at a charge. A lovely stay. Friendly staff. Close to cafes. However if you have a disability or are elderly there are no lifts, so request a ground floor room. Taking our suitcases up to the second floor was a bit of a struggle.

The overall convenience and comfort of the hotel was great, however the couches were very uncomfortable. Tasteful and well designed from the buildings to the beautifully maintained grounds. My apartment looked over luscious tropical growth to a very nice pool area. The hosts are welcoming, obliging and, clearly, well organised. Only a short stroll to the beautiful tree-lined Trinity beach, great cafes and restaurants. A well equipped mini-market and other […] convenience shops and services only a ten minute walk. The bus stop to Cairns is minutes away with a one-way fare costing $4.50. The apartment was modern, comfortable and well equipped with kitchen and laundry facilities. Neither too exposed nor isolated, a generous balcony with ceiling fan allows you to enjoy the outdoors in comfort. The complex sits adjacent to the lagoon which, in turn, borders a luxury private housing estate. Whenever I left to do the things you do, I was always keen to return. I can't work out exactly what makes the place different from others I've stayed at. it might be that it doesn't seem overly touristy. Whatever it is, it just makes you feel good. In terms of value, I consider this to be very good, particularly given its location in such a desirable spot on the Northern Beaches. I hope you enjoy your stay as I did. Read more

Really great staff, beautiful grounds and a very nice atmosphere. Trinity beach is a bit isolated though- there is not much to do after a few days. The only public transport is a bus which can sometimes take an hour to get into the city if you can't afford a taxi every day. Instead we hired a car for a few days- much better and next time we stay we'll […] get one for the whole week. Can get around and see everything on your own time. Our one-bedroom apartment (and all suits in Block 4) looked out over the rear of a restaurant, complete with rubbish skip about 10 metres from our balcony. The back of the restaurant, like all restaurants, was pretty gross - with rubbish bins, grease all over the concrete outside the back door, and kitchen-hands dumping oily, messy water into the "garden". For […] a resort boasting 4.5 stars, this was well below what should be expected. We were really disappointed. It basically meant that we couldn't enjoy the use of our balcony. The restaurant's industrial fridge #situated at the rear of the restaurant, about 15 metres away# was really loud, meaning we kept our doors closed. Also our air conditioning didn't work, although management did get this fixed. For our final 2 nights we were moved to a different room. And it was so much nicer. But our holiday and our stay had already been tainted by then. It was nice to get away on holiday for a week. But I wouldn't return to this resort ... or to Trinity Beach, which as a destination doesn't really have a whole lot going for it. Read more
