No complaints about the Hotel or Staff. There is a nice 24 hr Deli across the road. Room was about what I expected for the price. The imediate neighborhood was a bit dirty but I felt safe enough. I wouldn't recomend it for families with young kids. I would stay there again. It's a bit old school but that was kid of cool too. I do Love NY.

It is well situated for one to get around New York.A short walk or cab ride, to most places that you would want to see in the City. For the "urbanite" the subway is about a block away. Only 6 stops from SoHo. To really enjoy this Hotel get the Bigger rooms/Business suites on the higher floors.Some of the views aren't great but the layout is worth the few extra dollars. F.G. The Duane Street Hotel offer excellent value for money. Clean, well appointed hotel with decent amenities for the price. Room was comfortable, a fridge would have been nice - didn't need to be stocked - just as an option. I would recommend the Duane st hotel because the service and friendliness of the staff was excellent and always welcoming. Close to the subway or walking distance to major attractions. Felt safe as a single female traveling alone.

I have lived in Tribeca for 5 years, but recently moved to Chicago. When I had a business trip to NY, I found the Duane St. Hotel. the pictures on the website are really accurate. Clean modern bath room; with shelves for storage; clear modern room. the staff was very friendly and helpful. My room (206) was small but very well designed with lots of drawers, […] and built-ins. The bed was very comfy and the room was QUIET despite being on Church Street which is very busy. Free WIFI was very welcome. I love the neighborhood but of course this is personal preference but there are lots of restaurants, cafes, several gyms etc. easy subway access to the 1,2,3 and a short walk to the 4,5,6. Great location. Super friendly staff. Expensive for a small room. It looks modern in the room, but a bit too much like an Ikea display. Normally, I like wood floors, but because the room was cramped it felt cold and not super welcoming. I know it's New York, but it seemed expensive for the amount of space.

Very well appointed hotel with friendly staff. Incorporated restaurant 'Mehtaphor' is excellent, very exciting and innovative menus. Great area, close to subway station for uptown, walking distance to financial district and view of Statue of Liberty. Bedroom comfortable but a couple of problems - the restriction of space meant that my wife and I both […] bashed our feet on the corner of the bed base. In my case I'm still suffereing from the injury. A simple fix would be to protect the sharp corner of the base. The only other thing was that the toilet roll holder was hanging off the wall - not what you would expect from a pricey hotel. All in all though we loved it and would return. Read more

Modern design, small. Perfect for business travel. WI-FI worked fine. There was a restaurant, I attempted to get breakfast, but service was really slow so I had to leave after waiting about 10 minutes to get someone to my table. Other than that, it was fine.

I was only in the hotel for one night, so I didn't use a few of the amenities (i.e. bar in the lobby, etc.) . The location of the hotel was perfect for getting in and out the city quickly. I was flying out of JFK so it was easy for the cab driver to take the Brooklyn Bridge to the BQE, etc. This hotel is perfect for anyone who knows their way around […] NYC and just wants an easy base to settle it. My husband and I were only planning on staying for 1 night and ended up staying an additional night. We loved the staff and the rooms! The staff was so helpful and friendly. There is a garage up the street, if you drive. This sweet little boutique hotel is perfect for the Gen Y traveler. WHile a bit light on experience ( the staff seemed a bit confused about process sometimes) everyone could not have been nicer!! From the front desk to the restaurant, everyone seemed genuinely glad you were there, and showed none of the attitude you might expect from a hip little hotel. Duane Street Hotel is stylish, but tiny with no real amenities. The "queen" beds are actually full-sized. My room was basically just 2 extra feet around the bed on 3 sides. There was no refridgerator in the room or laundry service, restaurant or gym in the building. The "restaurant" is just a bar with an espresso machine. The "business center" is a […] single PC with a printer tucked in a corner of the lobby. The neighborhood provides most of these thing (until 11PM) and it's a nice walk to/from the financial district, but if you're looking to hunker down and do a couple straight days of work, this hotel offers nothing beyond its location. "good location/ clean"
The location was perfectt, the price good. However there was no closet in the room, and the elevator broke when I was there. The room was clean. Breakfast or coffee is not available tell 7am...little late. the people were nice and helpfull. Internet was free.

Very chic & nice location. Was a bit disappointed with the size of the room. Tried to keep in mind that NY rooms are usually smaller than average. Nice amenities. Staff were very helpful and we would stay there again.

"Execellent botique hotel"
The rooms are small but the high ceilings give the room a less opressive feel. The maid service is a bit spotty. Twice I had to call down to the front desk because they took the old drinking glasses out of the room without replacing them. I've stayed in three botique hotels in Manhatten and this is the only one that has a desk that is acutally usable […] so if you are there on buisness (as I was) that's a big plus. The area is great. There are a lot of moderately priced restaurants in the area. One hint, if the menu isn't posted on the street, its because its real expensive. Read more

The room was small, but clean and well appointed, and large enough for one person. A nice desk area and free wireless internet made working in the room pleasant. The exterior and interior walls could have used more sound insulation; there was a lot of street noise and sound from the next room. The room's decor and furnishings were nice and made the room seem larger than most NY hotels. The staff was most accommodating as well.
"Another Delightful Stay"
This was my third stay at Duane Street Hotel in the last 5 weeks. I think that I have, by now, met the entire staff. They are - all of them - accommodating, well trained, well informed and charming. I have previously reviewed the hotel itself; if anything, it gets better as time passes. And how's this? As (bad) luck would have it, I left behind a small […] (1/2 inch by 2 inch?) piece of the charger for my iPhone. I called Michelle at the hotel the next day to ask whether it had been found. She called back 10 minutes later to tell me that it had not only been discovered, but that it was already resting comfortably in an envelope at her desk, awaiting my return in 2 weeks. Brava!
