We really enjoyed our stay in this newish and very attractive inn. It's well-run and the restaurant is quite good. (Dress up a bit). Innkeepers and restaurant staff are very friendly. We were surprised with the inn's new sleekness, and amenities such as light switches lit at night and a wall plug already adapted for U.S. usage. The room was on the small side, but the mattress excellent and the room attractive and comfortable.

Upon heading to Oban, Scotland I had no idea what to expect... from the town, from the hotel, etc... What a pleasant surprise! The town is lovely and so was this hotel. The proprietor is a very friendly lady who is eager to please, but careful not to be in the way. The hotel itself is more of a B&B setup, but each room has their own bathroom, tv, etc. We stayed in the 4 poster king bed room that had a lovely view of the town and the ocean. Room was warm and comfy (considering it was about 30 degrees out at night) and though small, the bathroom was perfectly adequate. A hot breakfast, cooked to order, is included with the room. Only downside is that the hotel is up on top of a hill, which is a bit of a treck down to the main town, but it makes for a quiet location with a good view. Still walking distance to the boat docks, train station, restaurants and Oban Distillery. I would recommend this place to anyone headed to Oban!

This was a really nice spot to stop over if your riding the train to Mallaig. The Inn has a very nice restaurant and pub, and the breakfast options in the morning were fantastic! For the most part, it was a quiet, secluded place to get away. Keep in mind, you are in the middle of nowhere, so there isn't much going for entertainment, minus the pub and the one TV in the lounge area. Also, because it's so secluded the pub can be a bit noisy at night if people are in the area want to have a good time. We had to tell the workers at the Inn to turn the volume down because it kept us up for a bit. Otherwise, a good place to stay.

Cozy place right on the water so walking distance from the train station and ferry. No elevator (lift), but they offer help with lugging luggage up three floors. Breakfast and dinner a bit overpriced compared to nearby restaurants. Good location, good price, clean and comfortable.

What's the most important item in a hotel? For me, the bed. After a long flight and a 2 hour drive, finding a comfortable bed was welcome. The Holly Tree is well situated between Fort William/Ben Nevis and Oban and several ferries to the Hebrides. But take care tucking into the restaurant. My boyfriend and I enjoyed our stay at the Hollytree hotel. The food in the restuarant was lovely. We wanted to stay in the area as I had a voucher to climb the ice wall at the Ice Factor and they recommended this hotel. Overall a delightful weekend away.

The hotel staff were very friendly, helpful and informative. The room had a wonderful view of the loch and surrounding countryside. Although the weather was very wet and miserable the day we arrived a swim in the pool soon cheered us up, The food in the restaurant was very good and the breakfasts were delicious. The weather on the second and third days […] we were there was sunny and warm and the views were to die for especially the sunsets. The hotel is built on to the old railway station and has brass handrails and fittings throughout the building and these were gleaming. it is the fuirst time I have smelled brasso in a hotel for a long time. The room was very clean, large and had an unbelievable nice view on the sea. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The restaurant provides good food (had dinner and breakfast there). Altough I only stayed for 1 night, I would recommend this Hotel to everyone who travels through this region. It's perfectly located for visiting the breathtaking shooting […] locations of the movie Braveheart (Glen Coe, Glen Nevis & Loch Leven).
