ok hotel. front desk was unfriendly. The hotel is at a great location to get to the other keys and state parks. I am hardly ever in my hotel as I am exploring the beaches so was only there at night to sleep. If your looking for a cheaper motel and are hardly in your room, then the location makes up for everything else. This is the place for you.

A very old property, but very well maintained. This was a real through back, that had a feel for the days gone bye. The staff was very friendly and the rooms very clean. Bed was very comfortable and there was a grill, freezer and fish cleaning station for use on your catch. To bad we did not catch much.

The room was ok. The window unit was in the bedroom so the sitting room/kithen was not cool. Clean enough,older room. T.v. WAY too high. Plus the maid took my cooking oil, aluminum foil, and a-1 from the kitchen, and this was after a decent tipfor the first night, no tip for the second night.

The room was very clean, comfortable, and had all the necessities. The one a/c unit kept the bedroom cool at night and the living area pleasant. A full-size refrigerator and small cooking space etc would allow for a several day stay. I haven't see a hotel room this bad in a long time. I didn't even know hotels rooms like this can even still be on business. The bathroom was disgusting, The furniture was falling apart... you can tell they haven't ever clean the floor grout it was completly black. Paid over $100 a night.

They had us in a room in the back behind the pool. It was so noisy through day and night that I had to sleep with earplugs. We wanted to stay a few days during Spring Break on Marathon Key, because of the central Key location. I reserved the cheapest room I could find on the Internet, and it was at KingSail Resort. I expected a small room with two full beds. We got a huge room, with fully furnished kitchenette (full size refrigerator, stove, microwave, coffee pot, dishes, […] dish towels, etc), and a wonderful, huge screened-in porch! I was beyond pleased! The staff were very friendly and considerate, the resort was perfectly located, and the Wooden Spoon (a great 'old time', inexpensive diner) was directly across the street. The resort even had a boat dock, complete with pelicans! Amazing find! If you are on a budget and comfort is important but luxury is not that big a deal, you can't beat this place! Good place. This was a clean, nice place to put your head. My time in the Keys is more about the sites than spending time at the "resort". This isn't a resort... other than a boat dock and a pool, there is nothing here. But that is fine with me. Just a nice inexpensive (for the Keys) place to stay. Stayed here for a few days while doing some touring in the Keys. It's an older building, with basic but adequate amenities--if you don't go in expecting a five-star resort, you'll be comfortable. The price seems high for what you get, but that's how much hotels cost in the Keys. The toilet didn't seem the cleanest, but they fixed it right away and […] the rest of the suite was spotless. I didn't see a single bug, so they obviously generally keep it very clean. Re. amenities: the room doesn't come with a hair dryer or alarm clock, but you can request them from the front desk. Also, the TV's small, but we didn't care about that. For a few bucks more, the suite was worth it--full-sized fridge, small range and oven, microwave (but tiny counter), cupboard space, a walk-in closet, and two rooms, so lots of space to stretch out. There are some other on-property amenities like grills, docks, a fish cleaning area, and a pool, but we didn't use them this trip. Again, basic--but spacious and adequate for our needs. Read more

We ate at a different one every day. We liked running in the neighborhoods behind the airport, off the main overseas highway. We visited the Turtle Hospital, went charter fishing, and visited Sombrero beach. Bahia Honda state park is just on the other side of the 7 mile bridge off the lower end of the island. Everything from Key Largo to the end of Key West is superduper expensive. But Kingsail has got resonable prices and it's situated in the middle. Therefore it's easy go to to excursions either way. As others have noted, this motel is conveniently located--not too far from Key West, close to Curry Hammock State Park and Sombrero Beach, and just a short drive/walk to several good restaurants.
