Great, but the pork roast served in the restaurant was red and bloody in the center. When I commented to the waitress, she said it was okay, not rare. I guess your definition of rare differs from mine.

The Mondial hotel in Berlin enchants with charming service tasteful interior and top location. The cosy city hotel is located directly on the famous Kurfuerstendamm with Gedaechtniskirche Memorial Church and Zoologischer Garten in the neighbourhood. It is offering 75 comfortable rooms a nice restaurant with boulevard terrace the Ku damm hotel bar 3 meeting rooms a small swimming pool sauna steam bath and a small fitness room. WLAN is free of charge in the entire property. For business or leisure travellers and Berlin visitors with handicap the barrier-free accessible hotel leaves nothing to be desired.

The hotel was fine, but just that, fine, OK, not fab, and not what a 4 star hotel should be. There was nothing intrinsically wrong with it, the location... was good, the maintenance fine, the service good. Actually the restaurant was outstanding. But it was just that everything (with the exception of the restaurant) was in the mode of an old fashioned business mans hotel. The room was huge, but the bed tiny. The shower had safety rails for the toilet! The shower curtain didn't go around the entire shower, but the entire floor was tiled, so I guess it didn't matter that you flooded the bathroom when you took a shower (OK, gross exageration, you splashed it!). There was a suite press in pride of place in my room - really a pant press with a special jacket hanger? I didn't bother to book a non smoking room, which I now realize I should as it still smelled of cigarettes or cigars. The biggest dissapointment was the gym. I booked the hotel for 2 main reasons, the gym and the internet and the fact that it was a 4 star, but the gym just did not qualify. It did not have a running machine. the Mondial is a 4 star hotel. Nothing more. Nothing less. Pros: garage. pool. bar is till 2am open. Perfectly situated. Cons. Bathroom stinks no air con un loved rooms (scratches on all the walls.) No clock (typical for Berlin City) average breakfast. Definately not worth 15 Euros pp the service in general from the Reception/ house keeping/ restaurant […] is acceptable but not more. We had a pleasant stay but had higher expectations. Read more

Charlottenburg is definitely the best area in Berlin to stay. Being right on the Ku'Damm this is ideal for the excellent public transport and obviously great for the shops if that is your thing. Staff speak excellent English and were courteous and helpful throughout my stay. My one criticism was that the bed was not the most comfortable I have slept […] in and the pillows were frankly rubbish. Complementary wi-fi was definitely a plus poit. Read more

Hotell beliggende meget sentralt på "Ku-dam" med meget god standard, og i særdeleshet prisen tatt i betraktning. Meget bra, store rom som var godt vedlikeholdt. Godt renhold og gode senger. Frokost som var inkludert, må kunne sies å inneholde både godt, utvalg, god kvalitet og serviceminded" personell.
