"Nice hideaway"
We were in town for a birthday weekend and had a pleasant time staying at the mt Scott manor. The hostess was kind and accommodating. We had a small miscommunication but that was our fault so we missed breakfast on Saturday but had a lovely breakfast Sunday morning.

"First experience at a B&B"
Room was clean and comfortable. There was a lack of communication with the owners mostly due to there age and poor health. We did not stay for breakfast either day. Sorry to say our first experience with a bed and breakfast was not a good one.

"Very nice home near Willamette National Cemetery"
The place was beautiful and spacious. Very quiet and away from big city lights. I loved the chirping of frogs all night and the forest behind the house. A nice getaway on a dead-end road near the top of Mt. Scott.

"Fantastic service"
We decided to stay here based on comments from previous guests. We were not disappointed! It's about 20 minutes outside of Portland and 30-40 mins from Columbia Gorge. We stayed in the smallest room of the manor, but it was defienetly big enough. This feels like a home away from home. Great breakfast and Della is superfriendly and helpful. If you are not in the need of being right downtown Portland this would be a great place to stay.

"Peaceful, thoroughly enjoyed it!"
01/13/16 Cheri S El Cajon, California, United States
The animals are beautiful, the place is very nice, the owners are lovely...we'll be back! I didn't have any complaints :) Portland lacks on decent hotels this was the perfect answer! Every morning they were very attentive, cooking breakfast, putting out food for the birds/squirrels, having coffee ready.

""Peaceful sanctuary, Lovely setting & Engaging Innkeepers""
09/14/15 Jacquin S Houston, Texas
Mt. Scott Manor provides relaxing get-away with easy access to historic Portland, Columbia River Gorge, Willamette wine country and other attractions. We enjoyed peaceful mornings and evenings on the spacious deck overlooking lovely wildlife setting. There are many opportunities for bird watching, deer sighting & feeding. The Innkeepers are really interesting and enjoyable to talk with. The Master Suite provided the most comfortable and spacious accommodation we have experienced in our 30 years B&B experience.

"Photos don't do this place justice"
09/07/15 m d Minnesota
The one thing I would have liked more is for Della and Virgil to sit with the guest for breakfast. beyond that this place is so nice. yes it does have three cats which are outside most of the time. We stayed in the Master Suite and the photos don't do it justice. the place was like a dream.

"Don't book a room at Mt. Scott Manor"
08/20/15 David R San Jose, California
This innkeeper evidently intentionally overbooks and then stiffs customers. Despite having received a personal confirmation from the innkeeper more than a month in advance, when we arrived, she told us that we had no room because she had "mistakenly" overbooked. Odd that she kept this "mistake" as secret from us for more than a month, when she had our phone number and email address. Just as well. The place was scuzzy, and my clothes were covered with a thick mat of cat hair after I briefly sat in the dining room. My wife and I were happy to pay more for a decent hotel.

"Good place, gracious host"
08/13/15 Zazzn San Francisco, California
No issues to ding a star off for. Nice place, host was very gracious. Beautiful landscape. There are some things to note but no need to ding a star for. -the house did have a distinct odor but didn't bother us much - there are cats if you are allergic (we are but didn't bother us) -windows do not have screens so hard to keep the bugs out if you open the windows Other than that had a great sleep on the bed, bathrooms clean and the breakfast was wonderful.

"Excellent stay at Mr. Scott Manor Bed and Breakfast"
08/06/15 Photoseeker5 Caro, Michigan
Our 4 night stay at Mt. Scott Manor B&B was very enjoyable. Our room was the Eagles Nest, named after the Golden Eagles that have visited the balcony outside the room. The room was very spacious with a large, well appointed on-suite. Our private balcony overlooking the back yard offered the perfect place to relax and enjoy that first cup of coffee and watch the wild life which included deer, and various birds as they came to the feeder. The queen size bed was very comfortable and our room also had its own TV with DVD player. The room was very nicely decorated with plenty of closet space to accommodate our luggage and hanging clothes. Our host/owners Della and Virgil were very hospitable and gracious and very willing to assist us with any need or directions to the various attractions in the area. Breakfasts were very delicious with coffee/tea and juice along with a choice of eggs, toast and sausage or bacon, freshly baked biscuits, fresh fruit, specialty jams, and hash browns. All was well prepared and we had plenty to eat to start our day. Della provided refrigerator and freezer space for our lunch making for our cooler as we explored the Portland area. Our hosts also stocked a small refrigerator with water and soft drinks, as well as chips and such to snack on, for our use during our stay. In the evening Della usually had a snack of some type of cookies and such. The kitchen was open to use at any time for that late night snack and the lounge area provided opportunities to visit and relax. Thank you, Della and Virgil, for our enjoyable stay and would highly recommend your B&B to others.

"Happy owners and happy deer in Happy Valley"
06/28/15 Sandy M Running Springs, California
My boyfriend and I loved this Bed and Breakfast located just 15 min. from Portland,Oregon. Not only did we have the graciousness of Della and Virgil accommodating us from the start with their scrumptious and sumptuous breakfasts ( and fresh cookies!), but the daily visits from the local herd of deer made our visit all the more charming. Set at the edge of the forest, their place is beautiful and tranquil. I would highly recommend their place.

"Kind folks with Big Breakfast awaits"
06/11/15 Jaime L Fallon, Nevada
I was pleased with the effort put forth by our hosts. It was obvious they wanted our stay to be enjoyable and were pleasant and quite interesting people to boot. The breakfast they made for us reminded me of the substantial weekend breakfasts us kids got as a treat when I was growing up...although it was EVERY day at Mount Scott Manor!....It was not only delicious and fresh, but hearty, which gave us ample fuel to venture out for the day. It was a highlight to our Anniversary trip we made to Portland!

"Nice house on quiet street."
06/03/15 Luke N
This is a big house where they rent out the upper rooms. The king suite is huge and has a gigantic bathroom with double shower and a small jacuzzi. It was quiet, clean, and private. Breakfast was a little better than the average continental breakfast, which may be partly due to a recent health issue with Della, the lady of the house. The location is a about 10-15 minutes from restaurants, shopping, attractions, etc.

"Everything we wanted and more"
04/30/15 Graeme E Loughborough, United Kingdom
Stayed for four nights after looking to book a quality downtown hotel at a fair price. Really glad we made the decision to book in the Happy Valley area! Stayed in the master suite, it is remarkable, clean comfortable bed and sofa and enormous. It is in a quiet location with fantastic views from every angle. Breakfast was first class made even better not only by Della's great cooking but also by the other guests. We will return to Portland one day as we still have a lot to see and I hope that Mt. Scott Manor is available.
