Boat Hotel Matylda - Prague

I travel alone and this was the perfect pick for quality and location.

The Hotel is a boat and sits on the water. It's worth the little extra to get a balcony room. It's not actually a balcony, but french doors. But, the view of the river is great. Also, this puts you on the main floor. The rooms were decent size, by European standards. The rooms are modern and always clean. And, I can't say enough good about the staff. […] They were very friendly and helpful. When we wanted to travel outside the city, the desk clerk got us the train schedules with all our options and prices. Also, they were very helpful with the tram schedules. There is a tram right outside the hotel and local transportation is cheap and easy. It's the best way to get around. There is also a restaurant which is very good. A little pricey, but good if you don't feel like going out. The breakfast in the morning has a good selection and is good. The only negatives are that there is not much very close to the hotel. It's about 10 min or more to reach food, shopping, etc. However, with the local transportation, you can get anywhere. Buy a pass for unlimited rides, it very economical. Also, we had trouble finding the hotel the first time. The hotel is on the water, below the street level. It's 3 bridges down from the Charles bridge, next to th Manes gallery. Our stay at the Boat Hotel Matylda was amazing. Everything about our stay was perfect. Our room had french doors which opened out to the river, we watched the swans and ducks swim near by, and we enjoyed a wonderful scenic view. The staff were always helpful, even speaking sufficient English to answer all of our questions. The location is perfect, close […] to the Metro, tram, or just to walk to popular attractions. Seriously, this place is awesome. Hard to find, but inexpensive. The boat is completely stationary, so no seasickness issues. The one person rooms are tiny. Literally a bed from wall to wall. Bathroom is nice with modern plumbing despite it being A BOAT! Did I mention it's a boat? So cool...

Really great hotel in a unique setting. Clean rooms with friendly staff. Breakfast was really good and plentiful. Best if you can stay on the water side of the boat, nice view of the river. HIghly recommended!

We had the deluxe junior suite on the sister boat-which is actually right next to the Matylda. In fact most of the rooms are on the sister boat. The room was great. One of the best hotel experiences we have ever had. Staff was so friendly and helpful - they even opened the kitchen up after closing when our train got in late! Rooms were bigger than expected and bathrooms were huge for Europe! Although the showers are a little small. Great location, short walk to all major attractions, and a fantastic restaurant! […] Sat out on the deck between the two boats both nights and had a great time! Swans were outside our window every morning and we had a spectacular view of fireworks at night! This is truly one of those rare gems! If you go to Prague you must stay at this "Botel"! it was our first time to visit Prague and it's a birthday surprise present to my boy friend! We love the city of Prague and we love to saty this romantic boat!

Great location, make sure to get a room on the riverside. We stayed in the boat with the restaurant. Was a little afraid of noise problems, but that was not a problem. Breakfast was great, and nice with the lovely view ofthe river and castle. Small rooms, but that is expected on a boat. No problem for two adults in one room.

We chose to stay here after reading a review by another guest. We took their advice and booked one of the Superior rooms. The hotel is actually two boats moored end to end, one is the hotel and the other the restaurant. Our room was delightful and overlooking the river on the off side of the boat. Breakfasts excellent. Previous comments about the restaurant being expensive. Maybe a bit but we had three course meal for our anniversary with sparkling wine and live jazz music for about £45. We were pleasantly surprized with our stay. We always seek alternative accomodations to large standard hotels and this time the result was terrific. The clerks who man the desk 24 hrs were amazingly helpful and always available to offer advise. The location was central and after the first day we found our way on foot to all sites. We ate in the many […] restaurants that we found 5 minutes from the boat. The room was limited in space as was the bathroom. The breakfast was great. It was unique to have our porthole visited by an endless stream of ducks and swans. I highly recommend this accomodation. Read more

The hotel was lovely, great riverside room, slightly on the small side but that's what you get when you stay on a boat! Great location, 10 mins walk from town! Lovely powerful shower, comfy mattresses etc. Tea and coffee making facilities in the room would have made it even better! The only downside was the service at the restaurant. The male waiters […] seemed rather aloof and ignored the usual signs that diners were ready to order, preferring instead to go to tables when they felt like it. Wonderful hotel experience within easy walking distance of castle and old town.Breakfast provided had a good variety. Plenty of space in the room which had a great view.

This was absolutely fantastic! Rooms were not huge, but very neat and tidy! Very romantic atmosphere, I booked a superior double room which had a view of the river! Would highly recommend this hotel, also for its location to attractions and also the metro.

What an amazing hotel!! Absolutely stunning location on the bank of the river. We had a superior double room with French windows opening onto the riverside. We never closed our curtains the whole visit. It was fantastic to lie in bed looking at the view and to wake up and feed the ducks and swans It was my birthday during my trip and the hotel organised […] a candle lit breakfast with cake and the best seats in the restaurant for us ( a surprise present from my best friend) Food in the restaurant was great ( avoid the tinned pate though at all costs) Even food was fantastic although the portions are small for your money ( especially the pasta which really isn't more than a starter size although it's delicious!). The waiters could do with being a little more friendly. Although we found most restaurants in Prague were not particularly friendly places Hotel is in a great location 5 mins from subway to town and the airport, 10 minute walk to the Charles Bridge and 15 minutes to the Old Town Square. It's close enough to walk but far enough away to avoid the tourist crowds. Also means food and drunk locally are dirt cheap! £1 a 1/2 litre of beer or large glass of wine and about £3 for a big meal in the parachutist restaurant up the street! There's also a great Lebanese restaurant opposite. Fantastic reasonable food. But it closes early at 8 on a Sunday so leave lots of time to eat. I'd definitely recommend this hotel to everyone. Excellent hotel, with great views and in a central location. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. Food was lovely and the restaurant has beautiful views out over the open warmer. Well worth a stay!

O Hotel oferece o que é descrito no site. O café é muito bom. A localização embora não seja perfeita é boa e tem a vantagem de permitir estacionamento sem custo para quem viaja de carro. A única restrição na minha estadia foi em relação a suite 23 que reservei. Esta suite dispõe apenas de 2 pequenas janelas circulares ficando com a vista muito restrita. […] Não consegui trocar de acomodação. Sugiro a quem fizer reserva que peça para não ficar na siuite 23. Et fantastisk hyggeligt hotel, med en service fra receptionen udover det sædvanlige. De taler godt engelsk og er virkelig hjælpsomme. Hotellet ligger i gå afstand til mange af de store seværdigheder, men ligeledes i gå afstand til butikker og store shopping centre. Vi ville klart vælge Matylda igen, næste gang vi skal til Prag.

E' un hotel carinissimo ed originale, ubicato su due barconi ormeggiati sulla Moldava. Io avevo una camera executive con vista sul fiume, piccola ma ben organizzata. Pulizia impeccabile, bagno nuovo con bella doccia, riscaldamento regolabile e TV. Facile da trovare e si è in centro in 10 minuti a piedi. Vi boede på dette botel i tre dage! Personalet var søde og meget hjælpsomme! Vi fik værelset på øverste dæk med udsigt til floden, hvilket var det absolutte luksus ved dette ophold! Værelset er mindre men pænt og rent! Bijzonder aardig personeel.HZeel bereid je ten dienste te zijn. Het restaurant was geweldig, heel gezellig en uitstekend eten voor een zeer redelijke prijs. De bedden waren heel goed, maar het bed stond aan één kant tegen de muur. Ik vond dat geen bezwaar, maar kan mij voorstellen dat andere mensen dit minder prettig vinden. Helt fantastiskt hotell med närhet till allt. Mysiga rum, bra frukost, personalen pratar engelska.

Dette sted er noget helt for sig selv - her er kun rosende ord - en super oplevelse. Centralt beliggende med ca. 10 mins gang til Karlsbroen og alligevel lidt væk fra byens puls. Bilen kunne parkeres på kajen uden betaling. Værelset var gennemført ned til mindste detajle og personalet meget venligt.

Hotellet ligger helt perfekt, hvis man gerne vil opleve byen. Alt ligger indenfor gåafstand. Et rigtig dejlig hotel, med udsigt ud over floden fra værelset. Meget hjælpsomt petsonale, som taler flydende engelsk. Der er gratis parkering, hvis man kommer i bil. Hotellets restaurant er meget charmerende, og maden er god, men ikke helt billig. Hade problem med : - att rummet var så litet - sängen var för hård och kudden för liten. - samt att det inte fanns någon luftkonditionering - Eftersom det var en båt så gungade det , vilket satte sig på balansinnet så att det mest gungade helda dagarna. - Inget skohorn på rummet på ett 4 stjärnigt hotell ??!! Råstiligt båthotell på elven, veldigt sentralt til bysentrum og Metro fra flyplass. Kjempe fin restaurant med flott utsikt utover elven. Kjempe god dobbelseng og greit bad av god standard. Kan anbefales :-)

Vi havde et rigtig dejligt ophold, receptionisterne var meget hjælpsomme med at booke restauranter og give gode anbefalinger. Det var en skøn beliggenhed, nem at finde fra metroen, når man kom fra lufthavnen og så var man inde i byen på en kort gåtur.

Todo un acierto. La ubicación es perfecta, ya que está sólo a 5 minutos del Puente Carlos y a unos 10 del centro de la ciudad vieja. Las habitaciones son pequeñas, al menos la nuestra, pero suficiente para dos personas. El hotel tiene dos barcazas: Matylda, con unas 10 habitaciones y el restaurante encima de ellas. Este podría ser el único punto negativo, […] ya que desde las 7AM hasta media noche las pisadas en la madera del suelo del restaurante retumban en las habitaciones, con lo que es imposible descansar. También molesta el ruido de las bombas de agua, que se oye desde cualquier habitación a cualquier hora del día y sobre todo de la noche (cisterna, lavabo, ducha...) Botylda: En ésta se encuentra la recepción y las habitaciones con balcón. Puede que sean más grandes pero hay unas cuantas que dan a la calle y no al río, con lo que el encanto del botel se pierde completamente. Nuestra habitación tenía calefacción, minibar, TV satélite, wifi, y ventilador (no hay A/C, a tener en cuenta en verano). Según la página hay productos de baño gratuitos, pero sólo hay gel/champú.Pedí un gorro de ducha y no tenían, así que si se necesita algo así hay que llevarlo de casa. Las toallas las cambiaron cada día y la limpieza fue correcta. El desayuno es tipo buffet, pequeñito pero todo delicioso, sobre todo la bollería del día. Se sirve en el restaurante, tipo Italiano. En verano se puede disfrutar de la terraza en el muelle entre los dos barcos. Si volviera a Praga estoy segura que volvería a Matylda. Lo dicho, todo un hallazgo. Read more

Vi var ett par som besökte Prag och bodde på Botel (Boat-Hotel) Matylda under fem dagar. Min man fyllde 30 och detta skulle firas i sköna Prag. Vi ville ha något lite speciellt med karaktär, bra läge, över medelstandard och romantik och vi kände båda att vi hittade det på Matylda. Det är inte det flashigaste hotellet, eller hotellet med bästa frukosten […] eller restaurangen, men det var alltid rent och städat, personalen var verkligen supertrevlig och "hytterna" var ganska små, men väldigt mysiga. Vi hade ett superior double, och då fick vi fransk balkong ut mot vattnet och utsikt mot Pragborgen vilket var superfint. Nu är jag inte jättekräsen av mig, men om det var något jag saknade på hotellet så var det en riktigt ordentlig frukostbuffé som jag tycker ett 4-stjärnigt hotell bör ha. Deras frukost var OK men ganska tråkig. Däremot väger det positiva över. Personalen var mycket trevliga, renligheten hög, man har lugn och ro när man kommer hem trots att båten ligger precis under en ganska hårt trafikerad bro - man hör faktiskt ingenting ifrån den vilket var överraskande. Det är jättefint att kunna öppna upp balkongdörrarna mot vattnet, och när det var varmt funkade AC:n utan problem. Wi-fi fans trådlöst överallt och var till stor hjälp när vi skulle kolla upp grejer innan vi stack hemifrån - superbra! Jag är mycket nöjd med vår vistelse och rekommenderar hotellet varmt. Däremot ska man ha några saker klart för sig innan man bokar: 1. Det är en båt, det gungar lite ibland (väldigt lite när vi var där), och rummen är omgjorda hytter - vill man ha något större har de sviter också, men för den som inte behöver massa plats funkar superior double utmärkt. 2. Frukosten är OK, inte mer, är du en stor frukostslukare lär du få ta en fika i stan bara ett par timmar senare. 3. Det är antagligen inte lyxen de tänker på då de gett båten 4 stjärnor - det är snarare atmosfären, mysigheten och säregenheten som gör det - och det är för mig väldigt mycket viktigare. Prachtige locatie, twee schitterend verbouwde boten, kleine maar fraaie kamer, uitstekende maaltijden, 's avonds erg sfeervol, zeer sympathieke en behulpzame bediening. Alles op 15 min. loopafstand van het centrum. Aanrader!

Très bel hôtel, confortable, et propre. Le personnel est très accueillant. Il peut être un peu bruyant si votre chambre se trouve en dessous du restaurant.

Fantastisk ophold! Hotellet er et ombygget skib med kun 25 værelser i 2 etager. Mit værelse lå i underetagen med udsigt til vandsiden og Prags borg. Om morgenen kiggede svanerne ind af vinduet og sagde god morgen. Man skulle tro det var lidt primitivt på sådan en hotelbåd, men det var slet ikke tilfældet. Maritimt indrettet, men med al tænkelig luksus. […] Super badeværelse, hvor alt bare fungerede. Stor dobbelt seng, maritime læderstole, 40" fladskærms tv, minibar. Der manglede ikke noget. Personalet meget venlige. Fri morgenmad på båden ved siden af, der fungerede som restaurant. Indtagelse af morgenmaden på agterdækket udendørs i solskin. Super fantastisk oplevelse. Vi boede 4 nætter på Botel Matylda. Personalet var søde og meget hjælpsomme, dog kunne det indimellem knibe lidt med det engelske, men det gav os ingen problemer. Beligghenheden af båden er perfekt, både hvad angår udsigten fra restauranten og værelserne samt afstanden til byen, som nemt overkommes gående. Værelserne er ikke så store, men de er meget […] hyggelige rene og pæne. Vi boede i superior rum og har derfor ikke set de små værelser. Vi boede på Klotylda (ved siden af Matylda) som er helt nyistandsat og badeværelset var rigtig lækkert. Hotellet er for alle aldersgrupper og restauranten har rigtig lækker mad til en god pris. Der er gratis parkering på kajen under den nærmest liggende bro, vi var i bil og det fungerede helt perfekt. Read more

Boat hotel Matilda - Praga. Atmosfera romantica. A due passi da stazione metro e a 15 minuti a piedi dalla città vecchia. Colazione abbondante ed ottima cucina italiana sul ristorante-barca adiacente convenzionato con l'albergo. Bella vista sul fiume. Atmosfera intima. Consigliato.

Dette hotellet kan vi trygt anbefale videre. Vi hadde kun gode opplevelser under vårt opphold. Betjeningen var veldig hyggelig og proffesjonelle, Det var en god atmosfære og vi stortrivdes. Vi fikk også hjelp til å finne interresante steder å besøke fra betjeningen. De bidro både med sin egen lokalkunnskap, samt sjekket opp steder for oss via internet. […] Tegnet og forklarte på kart hvordan vi skulle komme oss til de respektive stedene. Servicen var helt upåklagelig, og restauranten som hører til hotellet var også en god innertier for vår del. God mat og meget god service. Vi kommer garantert til å benytte dette hotellet igjen. Very cozy, situated directly on the river. Close to the city centre and old town. Just a quick walk. Nice and friendly staff. We also recomend strongly that you hav at least one dinner in the restaurant. Good food, good service in an informal atmosphere, and you might have the opertunity to learn how to make a paper rose from a napkin :-)

Veldig koselig og lunt hotell. Kjempe romantisk restaurant i nabobåten som hører til hotellet med nydelig mat og bra service og ikke minst fanstastisk utsikt over vannet. Super hotel centralt i Prag til en god pris.

En helt unik atmosfære. Meget fine kahytter med små lækre badeværelser og en dejlig fornemmelse af falde i søvn til lyden af vand og byen i det fjerne og alligevel super tæt på. Personalet er utroligt hjælpsom, morgenmaden skøn, og vi kan kun anbefale Matylda til alle, som har lyst til at bo lidt anderledes, smukt og kun ti minutters gang fra Karls […] broen. Read more

Det är en fantastisk upplevelse att bo på en båt där man kan handmata svanar och se borgen skymta i morgondiset.
