"Great hotel for anyone."
Excellent - didn't realize we'd be in an inside room with no window but , otherwise, very comfortable. Welcoming and very friendly and helpful staff. Thank you. Great location.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Wonderful hotel in a perfect location!!"
My husband I stayed here for 3 nights and were very happy with the Andrew Pickney. The location to downtown Charleston, shops, and restaurants/bars was superb; as easy walk to everything we desired doing. The concierge was very helpful recommending great places. The rooftop breakfast was very good with nice views of the city.Genuine Expedia guest review
This hotel is right in the middle of Charleston's historic district. You can walk to Marketplace, shopping, and dining. Or it's two short blocks to the free trolley stop that goes all over. Not a full breakfast but not 'continental" either. The staff was very helpful - made recommendations and got us dinner reservations at wonderful hard to get in […] places. It is a wonderful inn and we would definitely stay there again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
After reading the reviews, I didn't think twice about booking the Pinckney, nor spending close to $400 a night. After traveling for 10 hours, we checked into the Pinckney. "Cool Place" I thought as we walked over to our room. We get into our room, and the girlfriend goes to use the restroom only to find that it wasn't clean...at all. Urine all over […] the toilet seat, hair all over the toilet, floor, and tub. Unacceptable. They did come up and clean the room while we went out for dinner, but I expect that to be done before we check in. Next, the worst part. Let me just warn any and all travelers here that if you do check into the Pinckney and they give you room 301, leave the hotel immediately. This room is not only directly next to the elevator, and next to where the maids like to park their carts, but it's also DIRECTLY below the 4th floor breakfast room. At 5am they begin setting up the room, dragging chairs and tables, banging all of the serving dishes around, walking back and forth (wood flooring everywhere) to the point that our room would shake. It was by far the noisiest hotel experience I've ever had. At least if it were a bunch of screaming kids, or other noisy guests, there would be someone I could yell at, but I felt helpless here. Just completely unacceptable for the price that I paid for this hotel. We loved Charleston (it was our first visit) and we will be coming back to the town, but I don't think there is any possible way we would stay at this hotel again. The location of the Inn is awesome! You are within walking distance of everything downtown. However, you won't want to spend any time in your room because the rooms are TINY. The toilet overflowed right when we checked in to our room. I reserved a room with a courtyard view and our window looked out at the indoor atrium.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Cute Boutique hotel"
Staff was very polite & helpful. Room was cozy. Great location. Located one block from Meeting St, easy access to restaurants & shops. One block from carriage rides.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Central hotel to all sites"
Everything was wonderful but.... When I booked the hotel, confirmed it and when it came time to check in they told us they needed a credit card to charge us for parking...was never told this prior.. They told us it was $20.00 never told u it was $20.00 per day...Genuine Expedia guest review
Great location! Convenient to shopping and restaurants, short walk to the battery. Rooms are clean and comfortable and the staff is in top of everything. Andrew was extremely helpful with recommendations and making reservations for me. I'll be back!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The staff was top notch. our room was small, but clean and very nice. The location was hard to beat.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Type of smell"
The room was very nice, but the cleaner they used leaves a unplesant smell in the room. It is not over powering, but you can smell it. Our phone did not work. I looked on the stationary to get the hotel number and no one answered that phone. So my husband went down to tell them the phone did not work. They sent someone to look at it and offered to get […] us another one. I needed a wake up call, so they said that they would send someone up to wake us up. Which they did and we appreciated that. All in all it was a 8 out of a ten. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Best Hotel for the money and prime location"
What a great Hotel. Talk about serious bang for your buck. Staff was over the top kind and super friendly. They bring breakfast to your room free of charge. The decor, room styling and overall impression of the hotel was way more than we were expecting.Genuine Expedia guest review
We had a event with my company downtown so i thought it would be great to get a hotel downtown. We were in 220 second floor and right on the street. We could here people outside talking at three thirty in the morning fire truck police cars with blue lights on because some clown decided to set the dumpster on fire. We got settled back in and the a car […] alarm was going off. Not much rest. When we checked out i asked if that room was used alot he replied oh yes and then i said nicely lots of noise i could tell he has heard that many times Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Fabulous place to stay"
We chose to stay in the townhouse. It was a beautiful room with every amenity you could want. We will definitely choose the Andrew Pinckney on our next visit to Charleston.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great location in historical Charleston"
We stayed there for three nights. Great location in Historical Charleston. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The restaurant recommended by the front desk staff, Fleeting Landing, is our favorite restaurant. Breakfast on the balcony is very romantic, with great harbor view. We would like to go back to the hotel.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great Place to stay"
This place was really awesome, we had a really good time here. The breakfast was on the roof and it was free. It was a continetal breakfast but they had a pretty good selection to choose from. The location was with in walking distance of everything. This Inn is a place you must stay if you want to be in a good location in historic Charleston.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

Very convenient location, really friendly staff and delicious cookies! A great value right downtown.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Very Clean, Friendly Staff, good loaction, but if you are looking to relax and sleep in during your stay, I wouldn't recommend staying here. It was the nosiest hotel room we have ever stayed in and it didn't help that our room was right next to the Elevator.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Comfortable & Charming in Charleston"
The room was clean, quiet and comfortable. The bathroom could use an update. The 4th floor terrace is lovely for morning coffee and breakfast. Hotel staff was helpful and friendly. The cookies in the afternoon were a nice touch.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The staff were extremely polite and helpful, but I found that almost everyone in Charleston was. The room was a little crusty (especially the shower), but the bed was clean and comfortable. I would stay there again without hesitation, but never for full rate.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Superb Location - Great Place"
Our third return to this hotel. We find it most accommodating, conveniently located to the center of Charleston. Every thing is within walking distance. Rooms were very clean and well appointed. Will definitely return.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Quirky But Charming"
Old hotel in several buildings with many varied room sizes and configurations. Bathrooms are in need of planned referb this winter but have plenty of hot water and towels. Within easy walk of the market and the Bay Street entertainment area. Slightly longer walk to Battery and waterfront. Complimentary breakfast is hearty and varied from fruit to […] biscuits and gravy. Coffee and cookies available in lobby most of the day. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Shameful. As soon as they noticed my reservation was made thru Hotels.com gave me the 06 type of room whose area is not enough for an adult, less for two. The only window opens to the lobby...When I asked the reason for such room, they answered that with such Hotel rate, that was the best they could afford and if I wasn't pleased with the room they […] could get me one in some other hotel...Breakfast is ridiculous, poor and bad quality. "A nice hotel that need some TLC"
The Andrew Pinckney is in a great location. There was a problem with the AC unit in our room which the staff tried unsuccessfully to fix. It was shooting soot onto my bed. They called in an HVAC expert. He also was unable to stop the soot. The hotel was booked so there was no other room, forcing me to stay there and have a bad night's sleep. The staff […] was very responsive and moved us the next day. Both rooms needed a more thorough cleaning and some maintenance would improve look of the common areas. "lovely 1800's hotel"
The staff were very friendly and accommodating. I rated our room a 4 vs. 5 because you can hear people in other rooms a bit because the hotel is from the 1800's and the walls are therefore thinner.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Loudest Hotel We've Ever Stayed In"
This is the LOUDEST hotel I've ever stayed in. It is awful!! You can hear ever sneeze, footstep, and conversation that anyone is having in the surrounding rooms. After our first night and little sleep, they did move us, and that did help. We couldn't believe how you could hear everything. They were helpful at the front desk. The bathroom floors in both […] rooms were gross - hair balls! YUCK! The breakfast is delicious, but there are only a few tables on the terrace. We had breakfast their four mornings, but there were no seats or table available, so every morning we had to carry our food to the 2nd floor, which was frustrating. The location is great, but that's about it. I don't know where the overall 4.4 rating is coming from - I highly recommend that YOU DON'T STAY THERE! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Great place to stay, close to shopping and dining. Very nice and helpful staff. Nice rooftop deck, with great views. Also breakfast was real yummy (try the French toast casserole )Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Not what we expected"
We saw rave reviews on our local Listserv, so enthusiastically booked here for romantic stay. Result - less than overwhelmed and too high-priced for the experience. First room cramped and small, we were moved to better room on second night. The night clerk on second night was rude and unhelpful when we expressed concern that we had been moved (without […] our knowledge) from a top floor room to a second floor one (after we indicted during our booking a preference for a room on the top floor). Hotel was at upper end of Historic District; we are good walkers, but others might want a hotel closer to the main attractions if staying in the HD is a priority. Breakfast was worth ignoring, which we did by going to Market Street and finding a good coffee place. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

Excellent in every way....location, service, room, breakfast, hospitality. And very reasonableGenuine Expedia guest review
I only stayed one night, but it was delightful. The hotel is old but all conveniences are thoroughly modern. The room was extremely comfortable. The hotel was very conveniently located, along me to walk around historic Charleston for a couple of hours. Lots of nearby restaurants. The rooftop cooked breakfast (complimentary) was also a delight. It all […] made me want to spend a longer visit in Charleston; when I do I will be sure to stay at this hotel again. "You win some, you lose some."
The location can't be beat. My wire and I are in our late 50s, and we walked everywhere we went. Staff was extremely helpful. Our smoke detector started chirping for a battery change about 7am the first morning, but we were already awake so no big deal. But makes me wonder why they are changed at regular intervals. Note to self: historic inns have walls […] that are paper thin, very little insulation against noise,so don't book another one. Only two pillows per queen bed in our postage-stamp sized room. Bathroom was also quite small. Rowdy guests made for rude awakening at 2am and 3am on successive nights. Breakfast, while free, was not that good. Boiled eggs tasted as if they were boiled and refrigerated the night before. Cannot recommend based on our experience. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Comfortable, historic, romantic."
The hotel is small and charming. The breakfast was very good, but keep in mind that breakfast seating is very limited so come early. The staff were very helpful. "Close to City Market"
Beautiful historic hotel, location was perfect. Breakfast on the roof terrace was delightful. Air conditioning in room needs to upgraded, we were not suppose to lower air below 69 degrees, which made sleeping a little uncomfortable. But overall I would recommend the hotel.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
