"Good hotel for +5 guests"
Hotel was busy with people checking in at front desk...so was difficult at times to ask for extra blankets or even driving directions. However, staff were accomodating once we had their attention. Also found a pair of boxers and socks behind the night stand. But other than that, everything was quite nice. Very nice breakfast, pool area, and rooms were […] spacious. We loved the hotel! Was just a nice overnight getaway. A home away from home. The decor and well appointed kitchenette was beautiful. We truly enjoyed our stay!Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"A bit dissapointed this time"
The city had a storm a alot of residents were without electricity. We did not have power so had stayed there before and enjoyed it, so we thought we would take the family there for the nite. The hotel was also without power, which they did not bother to tell us when I called to see if our room was ready. The power had come back on at the hotel about […] 30 min before we arrived. It messed with thier cable tv and the internet. We never did have internet service. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Great Place and Friendly Staff"
We came to KC for a week and were booked at another hotel...we quickly checked out of it and checked in here, and we are so glad we did. The room was clean and spacious. The free breakfast and dinner were nice. I would stay here again, and probably will in the near future. They have a shuttle to anywhere within 5 miles and another shuttle to take you to the Argosy Casino.
"Nicest Residence Inn on The Planet"

Having traveled for business extensively and staying at many Residence Inns across the country I was blown away by the comfort and little touches in the suite we had. The bedroom felt like the full service Marriott or Renaissance properties and was immaculate. The free food served was unusually good and if we did not have a business dinner offsite we probably would have just stayed at the hotel. The breakfast was much higher quality than the typical breakfasts served at budget properties. I must commend the front desk staff. They could not have been nicer or more courteous. Every hotel should take a lesson from them. Lastly, the fresh, homemade complimentary chocolate chip cookies were better than the old Mrs. Fields you would pay $1.00 each for. Keep up the good work.
"Got the Upgrade!"

We stayed at this property the night before leaving on a business trip. When we checked in there were fresh chocolate chip cookies on the desk. We were given a Suite upgrade and notified that dinner was being served shortly! Impressed with the cleanliness of our room! We also received a personal note from the Customer Service Manager upon check in, thanking us for our business and included a Free Item coupon. It was the special small things that made this a pleasant stay!
"nice beds... and I'm picky"
07/25/14 jaelyte Everett, Washington
Best part about this hotel is that the beds are very comfortable... and I'm pretty picky. When I arrived they had free beer and wine in the lobby (nice touch), serving free dinner and playing bingo. Overall this place has more of an apartment complex feel than a hotel. If you like free meals, this is the place for you. I prefer to go out, but it's a nice option to have. The hotel staff was friendly and my room was clean and spacious, with a full (ish) kitchen.
"Temp quarters felt like home."

Stayed there for over 30 days. Staff was great , Kelly is the best house keeper around. Always willing to help out. Stayed in a two room suite that had plenty of room for two adults, two kids, one dog, and two cats. Would definitely stay there again.
"Honest opinion....cleaning needs improvement."

The staff here is very professional and friendly. The common areas are clean and spacious...BUT our suite was not cleaned very well. In fact, it was just plain gross. Let me start by saying that this hotel has always been a solid standby for our family of 5 while traveling through the Kansas City airport area. We have stayed here at least 2 times prior. We enjoy the quietness and ample breakfast selection. Thus, you can understand the higher rating when you read the next part....However, during this stay I found hair gathered in the corners of our bathroom. Next, I noticed "stuff" spattered on the inner shower liner and then to my horror...I noticed dried fecal residue on the outside edge of the shower curtain. All of our towels, beside hand towels & rags, smelled funny or musty. I went to the desk twice to get towels. The first time I was given more towels that smelled. The second time, I had the lady assistant smell them herself and she was able to locate some that were from a different batch. The next morning, the desk attempted to rectify the situation with a $34 discount off our room rate...especially after I showed them pictures of our bathroom and the curtain. I am not sure if the resolution was enough to cause me to attempt another family stay here again :-(
"Makes You Feel at Home"

I too am staying at this hotel long term, over 300 hundred days. While the underwear king below seems to blame the hotel, the laundry room is a community laundry room where thousands of guests come and go, so it probably was not the hotels fault. From my experience the staff has been nothing but helpful and often times going above and beyond. Rick, the GM will do anything to make the guests happy. Finally I have been to numerous Residence Inn's in Times Square; Mall of America and this hotel is by far the nicest and most up to date hotel I've stayed at. Give it a try and you will not regret it.
Me and my girlfriend are currently staying here on an extended stay (more than 100 nights). She made the laundry a month ago and got all of her underwear stolen! We reported it to management and they did nothing about it and seemed to not even care (implied that they did not believed us). We let this go through hoping it was just bad luck but today she got her only expensive piece of underwear stolen again from the laundry room! Two weeks ago there was a police raid on my floor. They were knocking on people's doors and when we called the front desk to ask what was going on, asking if it was dangerous to go outside of the room, they said it was a police training, not stating clear if it was dangerous or not to go out of the room. When asking the front desk a couple hours later about the incident their response was "What? There hasn't been any police in here". I would definitely not recommend this hotel for people that live in the road. Look for better options, or some place where they actually care at least for their long term (profitable, platinum) customers!
"An Excellent Hotel"
05/08/14 califken Saint Louis, Missouri
This hotel is convenient to the Kansas City Airport and other attractions including St. Joseph, MO, on the north side of Kansas City. Great rooms and a spectacular lobby area. Wonderful pool and spa and exercise room with great equipment and fresh towels both places. Good reception in the evening and excellent breakfast in the morning. Staff was very helpful. Not close to downtown KC and there were not a lot of close restaurants.
"Best hotel experience we've EVER had"
04/12/14 James M Hays, Kansas, United States
This was absolutely the best hotel experience we've ever had. With two adults and four kids (8, 6, 4, 2) we obviously are a bit much for the average hotel room, so when booking this time I decided to try a Residence Inn. It was the best decision I've made in a while and if all Residence Inn's are like this one, I doubt we'll be staying in a "regular" hotel again anytime soon. The check-in was super quick, easy and friendly. The lady checking us in immediately told me about breakfast and the most efficient way for us to park and get to our room. I so appreciate that, I'm amazed how many front desk people have no clue the best way to get to your assigned room. The room was very nice, well taken care of and clean. We ended up on the fourth floor on the north side. It was so quiet, we never heard anyone next to us or in the hall. Especially liked that the beds were separated from the living area, really nice if you have kids. The sofa pulls out to another bed and the bedding was all ready to go for us in the room. The pull out bed was a much better mattress than other pull out's we've had. What sets this place apart is the staff. After our first night, we came back to a clean room and a handwritten note from the housekeeper that she had left us extra towels and soaps/shampoos, etc... because she saw we had 4 kids. And she left them coloring pages and four packs of crayons. My wife and I were speechless (in a good way.) Other places have left towels and such but the coloring paper and crayons was just so thoughtful, you can tell everyone that works here likes being here. The housekeeper signed the note Athena... we can't say enough nice things about her. She checked in on us during our 3 days here like we were family... She made my wife so happy. And if she's happy, I'm happy. I don't know what Marriott or the management here does to get such great staff, but whatever it is, it's clearly working. I've always said if your employees are happy then your customers will be happy. Maybe they have that motto here. Did I mention the breakfast is AWESOME? They have anything you want, they even have the soda fountain available if that's what you like. The quality is just top notch. It sounds funny, but the thing I liked best about the breakfast was that they had three different sizes of glasses. So many times they just give you these tiny glasses and you have to make four trips for your juice. Not so here. Also loved the peach juice, nice to have something different. The pool area is great. It's the first time we've stayed at a place and didn't have to ask the front desk for towels. We stayed on a weekend so we didn't get to experience the evening meal. The common areas are well kept and just well laid out. All of our activities were actually in the downtown KC area and I didn't know if I wanted to drive all the way out here, but with the price difference versus downtown hotels and the extra space we decided to give it a try. We're so glad we did. We'll definitely be back. It's worth the drive. I just can't say enough nice things about this place.
