"Great Hotel to ride out a hurricane"
If you want to enjoy your Washington DC experience, this is the perfect hotel to make your base. safe easy walking distance to a variety of coffee shops, cafes, Whole Foods (with an excellent breakfast, lunch or dinner and sit down seating), and several mini parks to enjoy. Transportation could not be simpler as the Metro is a short walk away for any […] DC destination plus a free trolley will take you the length of King Street with all the great shopping and restaurants. The Metro is also bus central so we took a short bus ride to the laundry mat. The room was amazing.... so quiet. Really enjoyed the mattress and pillows as we were really tired from all the museum walking during our three week stay. The staff was professional and very nice. Totally arranged a wonderful side trip to Cooperstown during our stay. As an added plus, we were there during Hurricane Sandy and we had to look outside to even know there was anything going on. We never lost power but the management had slipped a letter under the door that morning explaining how they would deal with any emergencies, very comforting. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"hotel to stay, includes many things"
breakfast and wifi is included, which is good! also they have quick service! i highly recommend this hotel!Genuine Expedia guest review
"My Stay @ Westin"
The hotel is really pleasing, however the only parking availabe is the valet parking which cost $26 per day. So, I think one needs to add this to the hotel nightly rent. Staff are OK I guess. Amenties are good.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great Hotel In Alexandria"
Spent two nights at the Westin in Alexandria for a weekend getaway. Great hotel! The staff was super nice and very accommodating. Rooms were clean and well maintained. It is a little off the beaten path to the Metro, expect a 10 minute walk and not much in the surrounding area for restaurants. But if you're willing to walk to Metro then you're good. […] Only real complaint would be that you have to pay for Internet access, which is ridiculous considering this is a high end hotel. Free Wifi should be a given Westin! Also be aware that parking is $24 per day but it is valet and it's nice to know your car is in a secure garage. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Watch the hidden costs!"
Great hotel... however, don't be deceived by low ball pricing. They charge extra for everything, starting with parking at $26 per night! Fortunately, toilet paper was included.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"would stay there again"
Room was clean, comfortable and trendy - nice. Hotel was well kept. Free shuttle to Old Town very convenient. Metro stop convenient. Only issue we had was curb service was not consistant.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Close to air travels and attactions"
I would gladly stay here again. In fact I am already scheduling next year.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

We were disappointed in our recent stay at the Westin, Mostly because the lack of professionalism in the staff.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great vacation"
The hotel was clean and every one was nice. I like the room the service. Everything was great. And I will go again. I hope the stay the same.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Amazing Staff"
John the concierge was so incredibly helpful! He helped us everyday and never let us down with either things we had to see or restaurants that weren't on the beaten path. The room was clean (had a little wear and tear) and the staff was friendly.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Close to Metro Station"
Hotel was beatuiful! All the empolyees were very nice and helpful.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice hotel and location"
The hotel location is in a nice area and still close enough to old town to enjoy the shops and restaurants. The shuttle service is a nice touch if you don't have a car. Arrival and check in was very smooth and the service was great. The room was comfortable and in good condition. The checkout was a little dissapointing however. We called to the front […] desk to have our car pulled up since we had an early flight out of DCA and were trying to depart the hotel at 4am. After calling twice to the front desk with no answer we gave up and proceeded down where we found the front desk area empty. Fortuately on the way to the elevator we ran across the valet parking attendant who was sliding hotel bills under doors on our floor. He was able to meet us in the lobby and pull up our car with only a slight delay. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"One night stay for friend's wedding"
The staff was extremely accommodating and friendly. Everything was great with my room, but there was a mix up with the Westin shuttle we reserved to take the bridal party to the wedding venue. The bride had reserved and paid for the shuttle to take us to the venue, and even though several of us confirmed this, the shuttle driver was confused that he […] was supposed to take us at a certain time. We were able to catch him before he took off with some other guests of the hotel, who were not related to the wedding. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Less satisfied than usual"
Though i have stayed at this location many times and had excellent experiences, this stay did not live up to my historical expectations. One minor complaint was a broken ice maker on my floor which didn't inconvenince me very much, but may be an indication of response to maintenance issues. Of particular concern was the lockout on the air conditioner […] which would allow cooling to be set at a minimum low of 68 degrees. This did not sufficiently cool the room for optimum comfort. I may not return to this hotel in the summer for this very issue. Otherwise the standards, service and location were up to par. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great hotel in a great location"
Third time at this hotel. We like it. This time the hotel restaurant was undergoing renovation so it wasn't available, but the room service food was great.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Would return."
The hotel was nice, however room service food trays weren't picked up and remained in the hall for my 2 day stay. The pillows were not firm enough and the breakfast buffet was overpriced.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Convenient, Class Hotel"
Class hotel with extremely professional staff. Close to Old Town shopping district, and even closer to Metro transit into Washington DC.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Summer sojurn"
Great service. Shuttle timely and easy to use - both to the metro and to King st. John, the concierge, was superb. Queried our dining interests and gave us recommendations that were perfect - both in Alexandria and in DCGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great, comfortable hotel. Accomodates Runners well"
I'm a runner, and I was delighted to find several things I've never seen before: If you forgot your shoes, they'll let you rent a pair of shoes for $5 for your entire stay. The conceierge desk has free Propel and washcloths (for wiping the sweat off your face), as well as a small, waterproof map of the area with a couple of running routes outlined. […] That is good thinking! The only downside to the hotel is that if you want to run, you have to work your way through about 40 traffic lights (with wide sidewalks) before you can get to a trail near the water. I would definitely recommend this hotel. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
very quiet and clean location. close to metro and King St. excellent management. enjoyed being there.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
On two occasions, the complementary shuttle was unable to pick us up/drop us off at the Metro station. One time my wife and son had to drag their bags several blocks to the hotel. During the second time, the family arrived at the Metro stop shortly after 10:00 PM, only to be told they stopped at 10:00. This is very poor service!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great hotel to stay for any reason!"
Stayed 7 days at this hotel. Very close to King Street & all the sites in DC! Staff was friendly & accommodating at all times. Only suggestion was some additions to menu in restaurant for those that spend a week there. Otherwise my stay was perfect!Genuine Expedia guest review

"The hotel was lovely"
The hotel was lovely and the room was very comfortable. The staff was extremely helpful and polite. We enjoyed the healthy breakfast options in the restaurant including oatmeal with fruit and nuts, and a yogurt, fruit, and granola parfait. We also liked the valet parking where our car was parked in a garage under the hotel. The metro station is within […] easy walking distance , though the ride into downtown D.C. is at least 20 min., but worthwhile in order to be staying in a nice area. "Disapointed"
We were disapointed with this hotel. Not up to the Westin standard we are used to. The Valet service is chaotic at best, with very few english speaking valets. Not a great way to arrive. The room was o.k. Their "dream beds" had filthy comforters and had to be replaced along with all the linen. We asked for the room to be cleaned again before we unpacked. […] We had already paid for the week and felt trapped. The indoor pool was cloudy and very disapointing. Took one look and left. No pool time on this vacation! Substandard meal at Jamison's and unfriendly wait staff. Starwood needs to put pressure on this location or remove the Westin name, because it is very misleading. Next time we are in that area, it will be the Embassy Suites around the corner! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Ah, A/C and a heavenly bed!"
We were refugees from the storm that left us without power in 99+ temp. After 3 sleepless nights, made a reservation at the Westin nearby and couldn't have been more pleased. They honored our request for a quiet room and upgraded us to the executive floor. The room was large enough for two comfy chairs, we lounged on the king-sized bed, and enjoyed […] catching up on the tennis matches on TV. The hotel makes a modest attempt to be "green" with some recycling and an option to use one shower head instead of two. But they still use individual toiletries instead of wall dispensers and we only found the sign to skip the towel cleaning on our way out. Also, I remain baffled as to the need for such heavy quilts on the bed, which I assume Starwood uses in most of its hotels because they imply luxury, but it requires seriously cranking up the A/C so you don't sweat throughout the night. A lighter version would be perfect. Coffee maker in the room and free water was a plus, although we headed to Starbucks downstairs for our morning java. The breakfast in the hotel restaurant was fresh and yummy but very slow service. Good atmosphere for a business meeting but probably not a good choice if you are in a rush. "Great hotel for DC visit"
My only complaint was the exorbitant $35 charge for a 5 minute phone call. I was shocked that they would gouge a customer like that. The hotel was beautiful, the staff very helpful and the gym was especially nice for a hotel.Genuine Expedia guest review
My husband and I celebrated our 34th anniversary, we stayed 2 nights and enjoyed our stay very much. The room was very clean and I enjoyed the bathroom towels and samples. The neighborhood was very safe and close too many nice restaraunts and shopping.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Thank you, Westin!"
I arrived at the Westin Alexandria just after a catastrophic storm struck Virginia, DC and Maryland in June 2012. Power was out to 3 million families. The Westin staff (especially concierge, John!) took care of people and animals fleeing the storm. Aside from the room service food (which was awful), everything and everyone at the Westin made me feel […] at home (and Westin is my home away from home, for I travel a great deal and am an SPG member). Thank you! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"So noisy!!"
I will never stay here again. First, theres is a train runnning close to hotel & they use their horns every time they pass & woke me up at least 4 times. Second, u can hear the guests next to ur room. Absolutely no sound proof. Could hear them whispering & their TV. Third, bathroom was not that clean. Found hairs of previous guests on walls, robe, & […] "clean" towels. I've stayed at 3-star hotels that were overall much cleaner. Never again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"W/end getaway"
I enjoyed it immensely. Do not like, nor can I sleep on feather pillows. In addition, they are horrible for support of your cervical spine. Other than that, the hotel was great; my first time in a Westin. And yes, I do know what I'm talking about. I'm a Chiropractor. Cheers, Dr. HD Hadley, CACCPGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great hotel for a family"
Although this hotel is not located in DC, this hotel is worth "SUPERB". Clean and quite place provides a great shelter for the tired travelers. Also you can enjoy nice restaurants at Alexander port and Mart like Wholefoods with cheap price.Genuine Expedia guest review
I really liked my stay the very first time I visited about a year or so ago. Didn't park with the hotel the first visit. Would have perferred to be able to park my own car when paying for parking. The parking situation was a little hectic.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great for families"
Loved everything about this hotel! Very clean and comfortable rooms. Location is amazingly close to the metro for a short ride to DC. The hotel is in a business district, but there are plenty of small coffee shops and restaurants around within walking distance-there is also the free trolley from King St. Metro to Old Town Alexandria-which offers tons […] of shopping and great restaurant options. "Westin Alexandria"
We loved this hotel! It was only a couple of blocks walk to two different Metro stations. There was a Starbucks just around the corner. "Great Family trip!"
- Cleanliness:Clean and well managed. - Location:Good neighborhood in a beautiful area. A bit away from the attractions but we had our car so it was not a big problem to us. - Pool: Small but good for my 8 years old daughter. I really enjoyed the hot tub. - Staffs: Very helpful and kind - Parking: Valet parking is $25 but we could easily find the street […] parking spots. Street parking costs about $3.50 for 2 hours but overnight (5pm-8am) is free. Since we spent the most of our days at D.C. we just paid about 3 dollar every morning for our morning sleep. - Internet - Additional charge. But Internet is free for on hour in the lobby. Overall, our family really enjoyed the stay and we will definitely revisit this hotel! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
