I stayed here for two nights and it is time for this motel to get a make over. Everything in the room was old. The surrounding area seemed very safe; however, there was a TON of noise coming from the guest at the motel itself. Lots of arguing and loud noises. Driving to this place, I realized I was going to be late so I called the hotel to notify them. The man on the phone seemed nice enough and assured me it would be no problem. My GPS took me through a residential neighborhood so I was thinking it was good. I was a little surprised when the night security turned out to be a toothless man in a ribbed T-shirt. […] I became alarmed when I noticed cigarette butts and debris on the steps leading up to the room but I thought perhaps it would be better "inside". No, it wasn't. The room was... um... scary. I didn't expect luxury by any means but it was clear the carpet had not been vacuumed, there was no coffee (why would one advertise coffee makers and not supply coffee?) and when I opened the frig, water sloshed out as it had accumulated in the freezer drip tray. It was a LOT of water. The air conditioner unit barely worked. The closet consisted of a bar hung up on the wall. Courtyard view? I guess we have a different idea of what a courtyard view is. Bringing up my stuff, a man randomly walked through the parking lot, having come from some unseen location. I had expected spare, bare bones even, but not scary. I did not feel one bit safe. The room was smaller than expected and I had to move furniture just to find room for an air mattress on the floor. There was a coffee maker, but no coffee. There was no shampoo - most travelers don't even think about packing shampoo anymore because it is standard. There was an ice bucket but no glasses or cups (and no ice machine that I saw). The hotel is older, but we just needed a nice place to sleep and take a shower. No phone in the room, so we had peace. I felt a tricked by the pictures on the website. There wasn't enough blankets, someone left their personal effects in the room and the headboard actually fell off the wall. Overall, I wasn't pleased by the hotel experience, especially since this was a non-refundable reservation. With that being said, the staff was very friendly and very sweet.

Need to bring your alarm clock, no clock or phone in room. We have stayed twice now. It is quiet and the rooms are clean with clean sheets and towels. Older hotel, two floors, rooms are large and clean.

Did not like it because no service was done to my room. So I had to ask for towels and ran out of toilet paper in the middle of the night. They closed the office at 9:30 pm when we arrived to the hotel at 11:30pm from our flight.

Extremly small rooms, no towels, bed linens very worn, no curtains so the outside light was very bright, the dooe lock didnt work, no room number posted on the door, no carpet and the floor tiles were filthy. there was a lady working the front desk, very rude! i definately would not recommend this hotel.

I liked the place. Staff was friendly, rooms were nice. Great price and not bad for location. Uptown was close and Matthews was just as close. Have to drive very little to get to nice areas of Charlotte. I would recommend this place to all those who are looking for a nice place with economical room rates.

However, once I got into my room I was very pleasantly surprised. The room was very clean inside and the furniture was in good shape. While it was a small room, there was still space for a king size bed, table, 2 chairs, tv, night stand, and a small refrigerator and microwave. Yes, the fridge and microwave worked and were clean. I slept well and there were no sounds from adjoining rooms or elsewhere to keep me from my slumbers. It turned out to be a very pleasant one night stay.
