"right off the 101"
Easy to find hotel with lots of Charm. My husband likes a more contemporary hotel but the grounds were lush with flowers and vegetation that was very appealing. Just an overnight stay ..quiet and close to the water about 2blocks. Lots of nice shopping and eating all around a 3block radius.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Diamond in the rough"
So glad we found this spot. Not modern but no problem. Surpassed our expectations not with frills or design, but with care. Free bike rentals and DVD rentals (huge selection). Free wine, cheese, cookies/milk, breakfast! Well kept grounds. Adjacent to SBCC, wharf and beach. Short walk to State street shopping and dining. Safe feeling and clean. You can […] tell that the staff really care. Very friendly. Feels almost like a B Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Nice place to stay"
The person at the front desk was really nice and helpful. The deluxe king room was spacious but had a bad smell. Amenities were great: wine and chesse in the afternoon, milk and cookies in the evening, continental breakfast (ok), free dvd rentals and free bike rentals. I would definitely go back.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice and close to downtown"
Pleasantly surprised upon check-in when informed that we had been upgraded to a king bed. After a long 5 hour drive it was nice to hear. Staff was very friendly and very accommodating.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Comfortable family vacation HQ"
Strongly recommend this hotel. 1) The staff are friendly, knowledgeable and very competent. It's a delight to interact with good people. 2) Room was better than described online. The kitchen was a surprise, room comfortable for 2 adults and 2 kids 12/10. Beds were really comfortable. 3) the free stuff: wine & cheese reception each day is a nice wind […] down. The kids loved the free cookies and milk. Free DVDs - 1000 to choose from. Great pool setup and lots of pool towels as you want them, free bike rentals was wonderful and 4 hours was brilliant! Even has a excercise room - small but was great. Lastly - location made walking access easy to beach or State St for shopping and food. This is really a relaxing place to stay - use it all to the max, it only gets better and better. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Spring Break Get-a-way"
Santa Barbara is one of our favorite cities to visit and were actually married here at what was then the Fess Parker's Red Lion Resort in 1996. We frequently come back to visit and that is where we usually stay but wanted to try a different hotel. It looked great online but the rooms are very dated with obvious chipped paint, small holes in the wall […] and it just appeared unkept. Disappointed and it was only $70.00 cheaper. "Spacious room like a studio apt"
I've been in different hotels but the room size of this one is like a studio apartment. I would stay here again. A little pricey but all the other hotel prices are comparable and this serves free continental breakfast. The breakfast (coffee, juice, pastry, bagel and fruits) helps to start the day. Very Santa Barbara.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Hotel is ok if you will be out most of the day"
I chose this hotel because it had decent reviews however there are pros and cons like everything.Genuine Expedia guest review
Great location, super comfy beds/bedding, very relaxing hotel, friendly staff. The breakfast & reception snacks are a really great perk, as are the free bike rentals. Great hotel for the price, would definitely stay again in the future.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great Friendly Small Hotel"
My family and I always enjoy staying with this small hotel group (There are two other hotels nearby; one adjoining, all run by the same group). Although some of the rooms are a bit dated, it is always very clean, and the staff are all very friendly. The landscaping is beautiful. The location is hard to beat with being a 5 minute walk from the beach […] and a 5 minute drive from State Street's business section. My son always loves the crackers and cheese in the afternoon and the breakfasts are fantastic. We will definitely stay here again when we come to Santa Barbara. "Clean, close to the harbor"
Room was clean but very compact. Just a few blocks from the harbor and downtown SB. Staff was eager to please and provided helpful hints on sites. Unfortunately we visited during February's heavy rains and weren't able to enjoy any of the hotel's outdoor amenities. Their sister hotel next door has a library of hundreds of DVDs available for in-room […] viewing to occupy rainy day time. Would like to return in better weather. "Great breakfast and afternoon snacks"
The grounds are lovely; the rooms not quite what we expected, but they were very clean. The morning breakfast was almost a brunch, and the afternoon wine and cheese provided more than just that.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Awesome hotel in Santa Barbara"
I stayed here for a weekend with my girlfriends. It was a great location - located less than a mile from downtown and most of the tasting rooms in the city. It also felt pretty safe to be walking at night in the neighborhood. I was pleasantly surprised by how large the room was and the good quality of the fixtures in the room. The hotel property itself […] was very well maintained and looked like a tropical garden. All the hotel staff that we interacted with were super helpful and friendly. I will definitely look to stay at this hotel when I visit Santa Barbara again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Beautiful grounds, wonderful staff"
We will definitely return to Inn by the Harbor on our next trip, the grounds were beautiful. The staff were friendly, nice, helpful. The hotel was warm, inviting, comfortable, clean, well maintained. The amenities were great. Loved breakfast. Wish we could have joined them for wine, cheese and cookies- great idea.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice but expensive"
Vintage 1950s style room with big kitchen and bathroom. Beautiful courtyard with excellent continental breakfast. However, the pillows were shredded foam and the hair dryer didn't work. For the price I expected a bit more elegance.Genuine Expedia guest review
Loved the front desk staff. Such a nice, quaint hotel. The only miss was that we were to have a room with a queen bed and was given one with doubles.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice people....dated room"
The personnel were very pleasant but the rooms were out of the 60's. Didn't expect it to be a hot, hip hotel but although clean, the wallpaper, bedspread, drapes, furnishings really were from the last century....and not in a mid-century modern sort of way. Nice variety offered in lobby for breakfast. If it were in flyover land, the room would not be […] unexpected. But in Santa Barbara? Time to re-do, people...especially for the price. "Well Maintained Hotel with Lovely Courtyard"
The hotel has been beautifully maintained and is a small hotel by the usual standards. The courtyard is lush and tropical with vines trained along the outside stair and walkway railings. I don't know when the hotel was built, but the small kitchen and bathroom reminded me of the Madmen era and both have been well kept up and are quite clean. This gave […] the room a sense of history different from a newer somewhat sterile space. The table and chairs in the room could be used for meals or for setting up one's laptop. Beach cruiser bicycles are complimentary and are fun to ride along the waterfront which is about two blocks away. Walking to State St., the Pier, and local shops and restaurants is quite easy. Though the hotel has a few businesses near it, nice homes and other attractive hotels make for a nice neighborhood to walk through to get to where one wants to go. Yanonali St. off State St. near the water has a popular brewery and wine tasting rooms. There are also cafes and restaurants in this area. It makes a great area to explore. Kayak rentals are nearby in the harbor. A morning paddle is a great way to start the day. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Nice hotel staff, facility getting old."
The hotel itself is getting old, you can see attempts to update and paint, but overall for the price I paid this time of year it was possibly slightly over priced IMHO. The staff was great!!! Rooms were clean. I would stay here again if I get a better price next time!Genuine Expedia guest review
"All the warmth of Santa Barbara!"
We always have a great time here - the extra's like the wine and cheese in the afternoon and warm cookies at night, bikes to ride, heated pool and spa, movies for free - make this a real vacation highlight.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Cozy Room by the harbor"
I absolutely loved this place and have told all of my friends to stay here. It was warm and inviting, the staff is incredible. It was perfect for the weekend, so close to everything. The room was like a small studio with a kitchen and view of the pool. The best part of this place is the staff, second only to the free parking, cookies & milk, wine & […] cheese, and deluxe continental breakfast. Don't hesitate to book this place, its very cute. This place was great. The staff was very friendly, the room was clean, and we enjoyed our stay. They offer wine and cheese in the afternoon and milk and cookies at night...very charming. Price was a tiny bit high as it was not as close to the beach as I thought it would be, but it is in walking distance.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Cute little place"
This was a great little hotel for our stay. It was close enough to the beach and State Street that walking was no problem. We found a great rate and they upgraded us to a suite room. The place was definitely an old apartment complex at one point, but who cares? It was clean and convenient. Really comfy bed, too.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Inn by the Harbor"

"business trip to SBC so glad close to campus."
I only stayed overnight but very quiet. great touch to have refreshments upon arrival, nice continental breakfast. Hotel clerk was slow noticing that I was waiting to be serviced, but very accommodating when it came to changing my room to first floor because there was not elevator.Genuine Expedia guest review
The hotel staff were very friendly and it was great to have a glass of wine and cheese and crackers awaiting us upon arrival. The rooms were pleasant, clean and comfortable. Older tiles were chipped but to be expected due to the age of the facilities. We were upgraded and each room had a kitchenette which we were not expecting. The hotel was convenient […] enough though on a very busy street that was difficult to access during rush hour. It was also a bit more like a standard motel than a bed and breakfast. Pricey too even with the discount. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"ok for just 1 night"
The front desk women that checked us in was not friendly at all, that was the night of 11/5. We did not feel welcomed by her or felt that she was helpful. The room had a strange odor and the windows were so thin we could hear every car door, car alarm, people walking by. There were also loud crickets or some other bug chirping loudly in our room which […] made it difficult to sleep as well. Room did not feel clean. We were traveling with our toddler and preschool age children. I would not stay here again if we decide to stop through this area. Besides its location to Main st and the beach, I do not see any other reason to recommend this hotel. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"nice hotel close to harbor"
the three best things about the hotel was 1.) that we got a kitchen with it which was great for eating after dinner snacks or left overs, storing our own groceries in the very nice full sized refrigerator: 2.) the sliding door opened out to a very nice garden, patio area: 3.) great happy hour with wine and ordevors. The staff was friendly and easy going. […] The hotel does need some up dating. The cabinets in the bathroom and kitchen were old style wood in need of paint with a more modern flair. The wall paper was too busy and dated and should be replaced. The rest of the furniture and decor was good. I would stay there again. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"I was disappointed in the hotel."
The Inn was old and could have used some updating. It smelled old in the room as well. Our room was at the back of the parking lot. No view. At the prices they charge it was not all worth the money. Sorry. In the kitchen there was a slot for a bread board but that was missing. In one of the cabinet doors in the kitchen there was a hole . The liner paper […] that was in the cabinets looked as old as I can remember that as a child in my parents house in the 60's. They put a towel rack up in the bathroom and left the plaster around the holes and never painted it. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

close to Amtrak, beach, and state street. Friendly helpful staff. loved the wine and cheese, cookies and breakfast selections. room was clean and quiet with comfortable bed and furniture.Genuine Expedia guest review
We enjoyed our stay near the beach in this easy to find, close to everything, hotel. The staff were responsive and engaging, offering cheese and crackers (and fruit) along with wine, and later milk and warm cookies. The room was a little dated but was clean and well decorated. It was quiet and our stay was peaceful. We would stay again.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Santa Barbara Visit"
Nice room - lots of space, plus was the kitchen with full size refrigerator and a 4 burner gas stove. Nice breakfast - and wine/cheese in afternoon. Missed the evening cookies so can't commentGenuine Expedia guest review
Nice, clean, little place to stay (included a kitchenette) not far from the harbor but a good walk to State street. Location is on a busy street next to a college so be aware of lots of traffic. The breakfast, afternoon wine/cheese, and evening cookies were nice. Wish we had known about the free bike usage before hand. We would stay here again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Very clean. It's older and has older furniture and fixtures, but it's one of the cleanest places I've stayed in. The staff are very professional too. Also, the housekeeping doesn't come around too early either.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Nice refurbished hotel, great staff, clean"

"Off the beaten path"
The hotel is very nice but a hike from State Street and the heart of Santa Barbara. Once we got our bearings, we found a decent route to walk, but when we went to dinner we drove because the walk was long and not very hospitable. Now I understand the less than stellar rating, even though the hotel itself is fine.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
